2023 California Spiny Lobster Opener and Huntington Beach Air Show! (Catch and Cook)

- Hey everyone, welcome back to another video! It is that time of year again for the spiny lobster season. Rachel and I took the boat out and watched the Pacific Air Show and then dropped some hoop nets to try our luck on some lobster. The full moon made the crawl pretty slow for us but we still managed to catch some delicious eats. Come along with us on our trip!

I grew up in San Diego.
About 10 years ago my buddy and I went to Ocean beach pier to night fish..
I was jigging a piece of squid along the pier while walking back to the truck. Got bit. It was an 11lb spiny lobster. Frickin thing was absolutely gigantic!
Took pics and tossed her back.
Was epic.
Just figured id share that

Heck yea... was out on my motorcycle and randomly stumbled upon the airshow...hung around for a couple hours, was nuts, saw the f22, P51 and f35 flying together...they were BOOMING. Got my 7 on sunday night, Fish and Game were waiting at the dock lol

Does the full moon matter ?
I think so, we had a very slow night with the full moon compared to the last few years on the opener.
@@fluentfishing went out last night and caught nothing but smalls guys 40+
go on a new moon high tide...ive never gotten any on a full moon....same for freediving...
How many lobster 🦞 are per day per person I want to get into lobster fishing this season ???? Please 🙏 and where should I sent my report card???
It’s seven per day but the dfw has some pretty specific regulations I suggest you take a look at on their website
