So glad I bumped into this. I am a low spender (express pass+ BP) but have decided to get oneric shards for Boothill because his English voice actor, Mr. Andrew Russell, has been especially kind to me. I have no regrets, and this showcase proves he will be 100% worth without a shred of doubt. Allow me to share this to my small community.

yes he will be good don't do not get confused. these stats on boothil are pretty unrealistic imo. beware that your damage will be a lot lower then showcased. still really good but nowhere near 1 million

Well, they have to manage the amount of dmg they plan to put to that hunt character as well, since too much mean they'll kill too fast, and if you can kill that fast then AOE units would be meaningless. A Seele with this level of dmg would outplay all existing DPS
@@jackheller2470 Yeah I have to admit that if this is Boothill at E0S1, he’s a bit TOO strong, even considering Acheron.
Don’t forget that most of his damage is USEFUL damage and not overkill damage on the side mobs like Acheron.
Outside of PF what’s the point of killing the side mobs if you can do Acheron levels of damage to a SINGLE target and just rip through it and be done with the stage.
Maybe to balance it, require the side mobs to be directly killed instead of just dying with the elites?
Also as a non Ruan Mei haver (lost 50/50) it’s sad that I can’t go for him.
@@mp9104 I think they already have a mechanic like this where some bosses have their weaknesses hidden or can't be broken under certain conditions. Since boothill heavily relies on breaking target weaknesses for his damage

It the debuffs of this abyss, he is doing overall 30% more damage than normal. A single target that need to break enemy first to do any meaningful damage with 3 buffer should be at least this strong.

Without mei e1 the dmg probs reduces from 1m to around 800k but that is still a broken dmg

@mlfaw Bronya isnt needed if you have a Speedy Boothill. Bronya is just there to grant more turns. Bronya's buffs has no effects on Boothill's damage.

The ordinary Weakness Break damage scales of how wide the Toughness bar(white bar) of the enemy is, and some more multiplyers(defense multiplier, break effect, resistanse, ...) so basycally Boothill wants to fight solo targets with huge white bar like Kafka, Aventurine, Argenti.
@@b0mb1t ahh I see thanks for the explanation,yeah Physical Dot(bleed) is the one that scales of hp. I've seen him take half of aventurines toughness bar with a skill alone n some other bosses not as much. i assume that has to do with the different toughness of the enemies

@@hiroshi6699 I think none, lmao... He doesn't seem to use well any other lc, but on the other hand he can use whatever lc even 3* options and still deal great dmg from what I've seen, I just don't know how much far away from his signature is that (I'm guessing a lot).
Some people are using 3* lc that gives you 18% SPD after killing an enemy for 2 turns

Luka and Sushang are pretty much Boothill’s support to help break weakness so to maximize Boothill’s dmg when the enemy’s weakness is broken. Between the two Luka is superior given that he’s not SP negative as Sushang

Yes. Her break efficiency buff is too good to not have. Boothil is nothing if he can't break the enemy.
It will since Ruan Mei buffs break efficiency, but you cat also consider running another break dps with him (Luka, Kafka, etc, depends on enemy weakness), so you will be able to compensate with someone who also will be able to bite chunks off of toughness bar and run them together with HMC. There is a couple of showcases with Boothill/Luka/HMC/Gallagher out there, you can look it up, it seems to be a quite decent alternative to RM.
Or you can wait for Ruan Mei, she is most likely to get a rerun in 2.3 since we are getting two break dps back to back (Boothill/Sam) and she will be a perfect rerun option for hoyo.
for clearing you just add HMC and another break subdps should be fine but i don't think it's optimal for screenshot numbers & speedrun, my ch is mostly dedicated to speedrunning showcases. Sorry :(

As someone who doesn't have Ruan Mei, seeing this upcoming stream of Break Effect characters sucks, because I'm a *very* light spender and I can't pull for both Ruan Mei and Boothill or Firefly; on top of the lightcones needed too. Same thing with the current FUA streak we were in with Aventurine, Topaz and Robin.

I mean you’re not obligated to pull all the FUA characters, if anything you only need to get aventurine and Robin to have an amazing FUA team with ratio. You don’t need topaz unless you really want to focus on that niche. Aventurine and Robin provide so much utility outside FUA that it’s worth getting them anyway. The break dps playstyle I kinda agree with Ruan Mei being so irreplaceable but I’m fairly sure they’ll start releasing characters that will support break.
So happy I got her on her debut instead of Blade, she's probably gonna rerun next patch to push the break meta more

ATK Chest are easier to find and get good subs so i picked it instead, seems to give better result too, Min Maxing too many subs is too unrealistic.

Is quantum better for his break set? And what about other damage dealers? For example Ratio or Topaz? Is it mental healthy to farm quantum set for everyone if you're using DEF shred in two teams?
Supposedly we’re getting a 4 piece set that gives break effect and allows the user to ignore a percentage of defense if their break effect is above a certain threshold. As for your other question, defense ignore is really good but only at higher percentages of it. If a character already ignores defense through a lightcone or a trace then the quantum set gets a lot better, such as for Jingliu.

@@karna7796If you have Silver Wolf and Ratio’s lightcone, then I believe quantum is his best 4 piece. Otherwise, just farm fua set as it’s Himeko’s best 4 piece and it’s good enough for Ratio though he prefers a 4 piece debuff set. Ratio doesn’t actually benefit much from the full 4 piece effect of the fua set so try to do 2 piece fua set and 2 piece debuff set.
Versatile set and those are pieces i left for my break DPS one day since 1.3. Nowadays it's mainly used for my Xueyi . Treat it as a efficient domain, 2.3 will release better relic for break carry but ye that's 1 and half a month waiting.
Btw if you have e1 rm you can just stack 2 BE 2pc because he already had like 98 def ignore. I was too lazy to change gear

Yeah sure Firefly can do it too, but shes not exactly the same character as him because Boothill scales with max toughness of the enemy of up to 16 bars. Acheron doesn't even implant Lightning weakness, and last time i checked her kit doesn't even scale with break what so ever.

A good replacement for Ruan Mei is Luka, who helps break the enemy’s bar and also deals out some good damage on his own
But RM gives RES buff who is kinda busted
Plus, Luka detonating the break dot gonna useful if the enemies hp inflation keep happening.

who is better, bronya or hmc for boothill?
If you want overall optimally bronya that's speed tuned to him. Because she'll offer more overall turns. But if you want big boy damage then HMC, bronya will out damage it because she'll give boothill more turns but HMC will give boothill more damage in a single turn.

I think this is fair tbh, as insane as this looks Ratio might br able to mimic this considering in his his premium team he deals 300K, more if you get his ult and Topaz+Aven also deal considerable damage. Don't get me wrong, Boothil seems to be by far the best when it comes to bosses but I feel like when it comes to elites he deals no damage before break and overkills after it. Still this is crazy beyond words ngl

There isn't really much overkill here - Boothill barely one shot Aventurine for example. Hunt in general has less overkill than other archetypes.

She is underpowered that's for sure.
But I think they will leave her just like that. Because other destruction character deal around same dmg.
For example on how dan and jingliu can't go over 150k without ruan mei.
And cap at 200k-300k at e0 with max investment.
Finally a hunt character who is actually king in ST and all other path COULD NEVER as it should be. Prevously it was like this:
Aoe: Eruditions are king, other path could never.
Blast: destructions are king, other path could never
ST: ???. Get outdamaged by destructions, even nihility(acheron) lol
This is because Seele wasn't a real Hunt unit, she quite literally performs much better when there are more targets. Ratio's dmg is split up between his skill follow ups and his ultimate follow ups so his screenshot dmg is FAR lower but when you add it all up it's not that far below Boothill. Topaz is a half-buffer and has the same follow up issue as Ratio.
Hunt (even Seele) has never been outdamaged by anyone in single target, they've just had lower screenshot damage so far. Anyone who's been paying attention shouldn't be too surprised that our first single target screenshot unit is doing this much damage.
