It’s crazy that almost every non-limited 5 star is a QOL change away from being even slightly competitive with the new limited 5s. All Yanqing needs is to NOT HAVE RNG CHANCE ON HIS FOLLOW UP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
nah hes mid af. March is an objectivly better dps unit then him. He has extremely low dmg% scaling(lower then 4*) and his only buff is like 40 cdmg increase with a 20 cr increase.
Yanqing is a god tier character with 10 morbillion holes in his kit that make reaching that god tier nigh impossible -poor buff uptime (best self buffs in the entire game) -freeze capabilities and self synergy with said freeze (least reliable freeze in the game) -FU A synergy (if you pray to god) -loses everything the second he gets touched ( 🙂)
As a fan of shonen lads (Arlan/Misha/Kazuha/etc. main) I partially agree, but his kit is legitimately restrictive, RNG heavy, and matched poorly against the game's content historically. That said, he does get a lot of free stats and is now doing much better with new supports (Robin/Aventurine especially) who fit into his gaps/strengths very naturally, so I'll agree with you if people still aren't recognizing his potential in a few patches. I also agree if you mean his character/personality: it's very nice having a "boy sword genius" character who doesn't feel like an edgelord or author-insert. It's charming that he gets dunked on constantly but remains gracious and passionate about improving and actually gives the Luofu culture some much-needed credibility given how immature many of the long-lived NPCs are.
"Underrated" says the comment under a video that shows Yanqing missing like 8 consecutive followup attacks, demonstrating EXACTLY why nobody likes him.

Genuine question here. Wouldn't had been better to swap RM and Sparkle since MC Superbreak deals dmg acording to the amount of Toughbess Break they could do? And Sparkle would've given Aventurine more skill points so he could've had his Ult lined up with Yangqings Ult too?
I've tried Yq with Sparkle, but somehow RM feels better for this Yq team. Of course I know RM is the best to pair with HMC, why do you think I didn't know that

@@itsj0hnnypr Okay.. actually for me RM feels better for the Yq team. Robin really needs someone to attack to activate her FUA, RM can attack on her turn, while Sparkle just uses skills all the time. Sparkle crit dmg buff is not really needed because Yq already has a lot of crit dmg, RM All-Type RES PEN is more useful for Yq
Ulting with yanqing on his turn extends the buff duration from his ult by an extra turn. It's a bit annoying whenever I see a random yq ult out of turn for no reason
1st Yq ult: 1:19 - RM ult is about to end, so I use Yq ult there 2nd Yq ult: 2:58 - This one yeah I should've waited for his turn 3rd Yq ult: 4:41 - It doesnt really matter, he is dead anyway
Sometimes ult in his turn can be a waste of passive for not playing safe. You can't sometimes just not expect for Adventurine's or Gepard's shield to resist all the damage they take unless Yanqing has enough defense to make the sustain's shield tank enough. (Which it would've a waste of stats.)
E5s1 yanqing I have and bro damage is As$. And yes the build is not top notch but it's definitely very good. Tried with everything I could (I have all harmony units) but bro just scks. Even in this run bro had to use two top tier harmonies to make him look less as$🤣

Yeah he's not exactly the best, as one would expect from a standard character, but tingyun would probably be better than ruan mei for him anyway and at this point we've gotten enough premium harmony characters plus tingyun and bronya who are basically on par as well that I just assume them to be the standard for every dps. He's honestly not as bad in that regard as blade or god forbid firefly who has exactly 2 supports and if she loses either one her damage falls off a cliff
