Did you learn Troll first? It took me several hours to learn Cyclops and then learned Troll really quickly. I think it's just the act of learning that first boss and how to read the movements they are making and react to them.
If anyone says troll is easier they are just rage baiting a monkey could notice the difference between the two and recognize cyclops is much much easier.
@@TheLazyRegulator there is nothing to learn on cyclops its constant circle right and jumping on EVERY attack(u dont have to but it makes it braindead). only thing u gotta memorize is the sprint which is braindead af
It took my duo and I needed a solid week to learn to dodge his attacks, another week to get good at fighting him, and another week to get good at fighting him duo. I can totally relate to the pain, haha.
I learned this boss with Barbarian last wipe. Here’s an ok rundown: Weapons: Bardiche, Battle Axe. Double slightly too slow. Felling only viable for going right (you seem to favor going left so I’m going to assume that). Zwei is easier but you will build bad habits that don’t work with any other weapon, and the dps is bad. You actually don’t need to put away weapons at any point if you’re playing well. Build: Rage, Anything. Potion chugger, robust, any other 2 perks. Summary: Troll’s attacks depend entirely on where you are standing. You need to visualize where your right foot is, and where HIS right foot is, and connect them. If this doesn’t make sense, stay 1.5 battle axe swing range away. Circle left with mostly A and occasionally W. Troll will do 1 of 3 attacks when going left: Upswing. Does an upswinging attack. Can follow up. To punish, wait until the moment troll is completely stopped all movement and attack. All 2H are capable of hand punish. Bardiche can do head if absurdly well timed, Bardiche and Zwei can do shoulder consistently. He can follow up with one hand slam. If he does ANYTHING else, your spacing was not on point. If it’s roar, go in and to the left. If it’s a sweep attack, go out and attempt to center the boss in the arena as he can “drift” the fight to bad spots. Big Slam. Makes a clinking noise and picks up the weapon to do a big slam. This is a stalling move and you need to run a distance away, then go back in. The distance on this is purely a matter of feel. Too far and you get roared. Too close and you get hit. Don’t attempt to punish this attack itself, just worry about not taking damage and getting back into range. One Hand Slam: Does an up to down, one handed slam. Easily strafed by going left, and ALL barb weapons can punish with a headshot. He cannot follow up with anything until the animation is over! Any other attack means you have made a mistake! Mistake recovery is super tough on troll and honestly not worth bothering. I usually just would let him kill me if I slipped up like that. Overall tips: avoid 1H or Quarterstaff. The damage sucks and you’ll be fighting him for ages (Viking sword solo took me 7 minutes). Just stick to battle and bardiche for learning. Take potion chugger to heal off weird chip damage. One hand slams can do a chip damage to you that doesn’t do much damage but does add up if you don’t use potion chugger Bring some dex items. Barb swings super slow. Try to get action speed close to 0% or more! Kill the whole lobby first! This is impractical advice at times, but in solos I’d usually clean out the whole squire lobby then attempt. Having a couple green+ items to start and no chance of getting griefed makes a massive difference. Troll favors people griefing more than you, so it’s best to get your team to guard or your lobby empty. Actually take breaks in learning. It took me about 30 attempts to get consistently. If you don’t just spam troll all at once, you won’t get as angry. If you’re not the type to get tilted, go ahead, but I found myself playing better when I wasn’t doing ONLY troll in the learning attempts.
Troll has a kind of "rythm" to doing it, when you get it down its a very fun boss to kill, i reccomend learning the spacing of the attacks to understand it
I'm sure this was more a med problem than anything because your were learning and Recognizing the moves, but then you'd caught off guard because you didn't react to it.
I can show you how to do this, I kill cave troll very consistently. And I can tell you rotating right is a riskier way to do(in my opinion) I personally rotate left and find it much easier/more predictable
I hopelessly tried to defeat troll over and over for weeks and then patch 69 came out and I beat it first try… didn’t feel like much of an accomplishment but at least after they reverted the changes I was able to do it too so now I think I got him down. Took so long for me
ye i remember i was trying to learn how to fight this guy as well and i did this for 3 hour straight and i just kinda give up afterward lol (im new and i don't have friends to help)
I have attempted the troll numerous times in the past, and have given up after 2-3 rounds of people coming down and contesting it. This lovely amazing couple is in my stream and offered to do a res-comp for higher-density attempts on my behalf. My discord is very friendly with a mixture of new and veteran players. I recommend joining and chatting, a lot of them are in the same boat as you and would love to queue up! :)
Barbarian is like the worst class for Troll, if you are gonna go barb against Troll, you should use a one handed weapon for better move speed and swing time.
barb is good, if you already know how to do it. cuz after every hit, you can hit head with double axe, and its fast, almost like as rogue or bard. bardishe is also good, with felling axe you can hit 2x head on 2 ground atacks. i mean, fighter/wizard/druid/ranger/cleric are worse for sure. ignoring the long sword fighter actualy, who is also very fast with parry.
@@austinknips4034 no, i didnt and no, he isnt. barb need 3-4 phases, while rondel fighter need around 7-9 phases. only warlock, bard and rogue are faster than him. you have to know, that barbarian have a lot basic dmg, and if he hit head, it realy hurts. meanwhile rondel fighter is more pdr tank basic. he dont rly have dmg like a rogue or bard with daggers. he is on same level as ranger/druid in tempo bosses. im saying it as a 2000h+ gc only farm boss bot, who do both every game, just to increse my economy, and spending it for to expensive kits and losing it to naked rogues and barbarians, or being to greedy and take risk to another player, having full eq and droppid all meds for loot xD
@ yeah I understand the stats the issue you’re forgetting is base kit it takes 2:30 mins on a rondel fight because you get more hits in totaling to more dps it takes 3+ on a barb I troll farmed all of last wipe and early into this wipe it’s not close…

When I saw how hard he hits, how tanky he is, and just how much effort it would take for a chance at a crafting material to make an minor utility item that will get wiped anyway, that's when I decided to stop playing DaD. Difficulty is just way overtuned for how punishing and grindy the seasonal game is imo.

It's funny how many tries to dodge that troll irl by going side way with our head. xD
Circle left of troll is so much easier in my experience. Takes a bit longer though
Whoever says Troll is easier than Cyclops is trolling lol... took me hours to get Troll down, and then I went and beat Cyclops on my first try

It took me 3 days in solo dungeons to learn troll as a cleric, once you get past the point of dying in a few hits it becomes much more manageable.
