@MsSlb2012 Ya, they're an expensive item to lose! Sounds like a better plan to buy. If you're coming to Japan, there's a great sporting goods store chain here called Montbell that's a lot like REI in the States!

If you are traveling with only carry on, you can’t bring poles, not even collapsible ones. You’d have to check them. I’m bummed.
