The reason I love the Fantastic Beasts movies is not just because of Eddie Redmayne and the character he plays, but the creatures, the fact that it's still in the Harry Potter universe, and all the emotion of the creatures too.
Newt Scamander attended Hogwarts. His grandson Ralf marries Luna Lovegood in the epilogue of Deathly Hollows. They are all past wizards of the Harry Potter universe. Just as Jude Law plays a very young and sexy Albus Dumbledore. Although we weren't aware of the depth of his relationship with Gellert Grindelwald. Albus treated Newt just as he did Harry. Asking too much of him in carrying out assignments.

They really f-d up replacing Johnny Depp...just changed the vibe too much. Mads is an awesome actor, but Depp's subtle style made Grindelwald much more terrifying and sympathetic at the same time.

It went to far from that in the other two movies. Only the first one was truly about the creatures.
