Red Dragon is my favorite company. I remember buying a really cheap gaming mouse (I forgot the price but definitely less than $100) and use it for 2-3 years before breaking down
Considered this for my next purchase. However, I went with Logitech G604 due to battery time. 80-ish hours (without RGB) of the Redragon M913 against 240+ hours of the G604. It has less buttons though, and cost more.
I have the wired version, I put a small tab on key 5 and key 11 to train my muscle memory on learning the 12 keys on the side. I do recommend this mouse as well.
Using 2nd Logitech G600 MMO Mouse. All buttons are proggramable, even top buttons. Scroll isnt the best I've seen, but its decent and it has 2 additional "buttons" by pressing it left/right. One slight con is cable, but you should learn to not hate it if its better option. At the time I mainly play FFXIV with a controller. Some jobs are harder to manage all the skills but well. Just bought myself xbox chat pad, and gonna make use of it too.
Hey Desperius I would also recommend the UtechSmart VENUS Pro wireless RGB MMO mouse it goes for the same cost and in my experience has a bit more grip on the top for the hands but to own their each opinion and if any thing if you can not find the read dragon then you can get this one it has all the same features they are both great mice and I would highly recommend both ^^
I use a Steelseries Rival 500. Its the only MMO mouse that dont have this 12 Button Layout. I cant get used to it. But i use a Keypad (Razer Tartarus V2) for skills so my mouse has only bind my shift key and some spells like swiftcast or dmg reduction for tanks.
Great review! my only reservation about red dragon products is definitely the longevity (mainly used their mice, M711 and Griffin, both had wire issues). Although they work great, they start to malfunction quite quickly in my experience.
@@DesperiusFFXIV That is true, my first redragon mouse died about 2 months in, the second one died in about 4 months. Currently using a logitech g402 for the past 2 years and it's been working great. Could just be my luck honestly
Anyone willing to drop the kind of cash on it, the Razer Naga Pro (The new wireless version of the Naga Trinity) is a really good MMO mouse. Sadly at 150$ its very pricey and doesn't even come with the charging station meaning to charge it you will need to plug it in with the cord, however they have a deal currently that for just 10$ more you can bundle the charging station (regularly 50$ on its own) if you don't have one already. All in all though it's well worth the cost if you do other kinds of gaming as well due to the swappable side plates. I would highly recommend it if you can afford it. I was a long time fan of the Trinity but the cord was always a hassle so I knew as soon as they released a wireless version I had to get one. The kicker for the Naga Pro is that it has a built in Bluetooth option so you can easily connect it to Bluetooth enabled devices.
i've been using the g600 but the only problem i have is that the side buttons are very stiff and hard to press and it tires out my thumb. the side buttons on this mouse, are they easy to press and clicky? Or do they take a lot of force to press in?
I have a logitech g600, super sturdy and the lpgitech software lets you bind anything you want on any of the buttons. My issue is the weight so I still use my g502 instead.
Before I was fan of Logitech, since I had terrible terrible experience with Razer (and don't get me wrong, I was continuously buying new Razer mouses, but they didnt last long) but even with Logitech, that is 100+ $, lets say G600 back in the days, they break out or double click after year or two of use. so I think its ok to buy redragon, or Bloody (A4tech) I had great experiences with those devices, and they last longer than "top" brands.
One thing I can add is: Logitech gaming mice(and keyboards too): beware them. The product itself seems to have the same quality as always, which is good. At some point they made some new software which is complete crap. You can't just bind "ctrl+alt" or "shift+alt" to a key by holding them both. You have to use some macro stuff and I've yet to actually get it to work. They went from easily as good as Razer products to crap just by making some new, complete dog droppings new software
See. I would agree with you. But my personal fav mmo mouse: logitech g600. Having that 3rd right mouse click & using logitech "g shift" option where would give me another layer of buttons to macro. So it would basically doubles the macro for us. So basically... I can use 2 bars on my mouse. I just wish it be wireless.
They stopped making it in Europe! :'( I literally bought 3 extras just so when they die I know I'll have another one once they become impossible to get
@AmpEdition I used to miss click it alot until I got used to it ... Also you can unbind it or rebind it to for example mounts or sprint instead of shift
Lovely video, Desperius. I like that you are branching out with useful videos here and there such as your UI videos and everything else. Real question though. I'm on a Razer DeathAdder, and have been for years. Primarily when I play FFXIV, buttons 1-5 I hit on the keyboard while also doing WASD movement. From 6 up to =, I use my mouse to click on the abilities on the hotbar. I often play tank so any mitigation is from 6 to =. I'm able to make it work and clear Savage content (including Shiva) this way. For those who have gone from a similar set-up like mine to an MMO mouse, is it a big transition going from those controls to the 16 programmable buttons? Is muscle memory an issue or is it just a matter of practice? I once tried with the Logitech G600, and one thing I just couldn't get over was the right-most right-click. I found it very strange and would much rather do without something like that. Any thoughts or recommendations?
You just get used to it. I've had the Naga since it came out and got use to after all while. A Keypads are good too, wish I hadn't sold mine when I stopped playing MMOs for bit. I had a Razer one. I used the thumpad in place of wasd and the other buttons for bars.
How does it compare to Corsair Scimitar and Logitech G600 tho? Right now using Corsair Scimitar, but was contemplating getting a G600 once my corsair will inevitably die. (I mean, they're pretty sturdy, much more than any Razer that have always been awful durability wise, and is why I stepped away from Razer, but as a heavy gamer, no mouse is gonna last me forever :p)
@AmpEdition Thanks! Also, great timing for a reply, my scimitar is showing signs of weakness with a right click acting erratically lately. Had the opportunity to try a g600 with a friend, and as a 1-3-1 grip user, it turns out to not be that comfortable to me ^^' Might give a try to the red dragon then, as I'd like something a bit bigger than the corsair even if I mostly got used to pincer claw type of grip. And the investment isn't that big to be fair.
I had two of these mouses (probably, from the previous revision, cuz they were non-wireless) - each one ended with some mechanical problems exactly after their warranty period ends. The first one stopped to respond on the left button clicks, the second one began with a broken wheel and ended with half of the side buttons died. Otherwise, they were truly nice while I've used them until they're broke. And now I'm with Naga Trinity. Unfortunately, as you said, it's a complete wasteland on the MMO mouses market...
I'm having to send in my 3rd naga trinity because it keeps getting double click issues. I want a mmo mouse that is smaller like the naga. and does not have this dumb double click issue.
Okay, seriously though. How good is using a mouse like this? I'm on PC, but I've never used a keyboard and mouse... i kinda want to switch over, but ooh boy, I feel like the change would be to extreme. Do you think that this mouse might help with it?
In my honest opinion, I would say it takes time to learn anything. I play with hot key strictly on keyboard, keyboard + MMO mouse and controller, and each time I change them is a learning curve for me. Playing with an MMO mouse will limit your mouse movement the first time you tried it since you have to remember which key you bind to. So yeah, if you want to, you can learn it
The design of this is almost verbatim of the UtechSmart Venus gaming mouse. Which one is actually the original design and which is the knock off? Does this one work better than UtechSmart Venus?
I ordered this mouse but had to refund it due to the left mouse button not working. But just from the feel of it it felt very nice. Switched to Logitech nevertheless. 😂
Eh...just get a 7 button mouse and use shift, alt and ctrl as modifiers. 28 keybinds without that goofy thumb callous creating side button grid. Save some serious cash as well.
Lol, i have exactly the same mouse, the only dowside for this one is the software, it's a piece of shit, i have a logitec to with the same layout, best Mouse for any MMO.
Red Dragon is my favorite company. I remember buying a really cheap gaming mouse (I forgot the price but definitely less than $100) and use it for 2-3 years before breaking down
Redragon seems to be a promising brand, I'm using a M990 with 16 buttons and so far it's not disappointing.
I went back from the Razer Naga Epic Chroma to Corsair Scimitar Elite. Seeing another wireless option is great too! MMO mices are really underrated D:
I couldn't play ff without my 12 button mouse. Will definitely look at this the next time I need a new mouse!
I still have the OG Razer Naga. Couldn't imagine going back to using the KB instead of the thumb button.
Considered this for my next purchase. However, I went with Logitech G604 due to battery time. 80-ish hours (without RGB) of the Redragon M913 against 240+ hours of the G604. It has less buttons though, and cost more.

I can't live without my mmo mouse, having 12 buttons ready at the click of my thumb is OP lol
I am getting this now. Thanks D.

I am using the Roccat Leadr for MMO Gaming. Try that out! Imho the key layout is much better accessible.
I have the wired version of that redragon mouse, best MMO mouse in my humble opinion.
Great review! my only reservation about red dragon products is definitely the longevity (mainly used their mice, M711 and Griffin, both had wire issues). Although they work great, they start to malfunction quite quickly in my experience.
Good to know, but I have to admit it really depends on each device. Razer Keyboards use to stay for years while some mice died after 1 or 2 years
@@DesperiusFFXIV That is true, my first redragon mouse died about 2 months in, the second one died in about 4 months. Currently using a logitech g402 for the past 2 years and it's been working great. Could just be my luck honestly

i use a logitech g600, its the best ive used for quality/price
hmmm i have older version saving macros take too much time unlike other mmo mouse i wonder if this is fixed now

I'll have to test that out. I have the G910.
When I was using a Logitech mouse, I had to download the old software for the reasons you mentioned
And if it updates incorrectly it can cause your system to bluescreen! I've had that happen twice...
