Personally, I don’t mind Ahyeon’s overdancing 👀😂 I find it kind of charismatic and refreshing, and I will always prefer an idol to over do it on stage then half-heart it (ateez san for example who also recieved hate for this issue in the past).
However, I do think after the hate and feedback, her moves in recent stages are watered down and I would like to argue that it’s lowkey unprofessional and plays into the microwave approach you mentioned. It makes no sense that the two modes offered to us are extreme or go girl give us nothing - I think its up to the experts to guide trainees to fix this. I do like her and miss her old explosive dancing, but I hope she can find a nice balance without compromising her entertaining performances but also without playing into the opinions of haters. There’s a difference between constructive criticism and just being plain mean.

I would like to give a vote of no confidence on the fandom in general for not knowing where the line between constructive criticism and being mean is. Far far too many people weaponize criticism to use against another group/individual. To my way of thinking, that makes all criticism in these forums impotent. I find it better to ignore all opinion and just go with what I like

Ahyeon é uma garota muito especial. 😻😻
Ela é linda em todos os sentidos, e isso causa inveja e ódio em algumas pessoas.

Generally I feel like the hate towards Ahyeon and the girls is just SO forced, like everything’s still brand new to them and the public absolutely will not allow them to enjoy or explore it or step into into the lion’s den and figure out what’s right or what’s wrong.

I love her & everyone in baemon, but yea she did stood out in not so good way with her over dancing. thats not how group work is supposed to be, in group settings u gotta blend in with members. then she toned it down too low. We can see examples of powerful performers like Jihyo, Momo of twice or even Lisa of bp, they go all out when its solo stuff but look at them in group dance & they never stand out that way, they look one with the group.

Ahyeon is such a talented girl and gives everything on stage, her way of dancing is so cool but if they want to have a coordinated dance she needs to have her energy down, she could also ask the members to dance with more pops and energy, but all of the members dance more calmly, but harassing her for over dancing and then for lazy dancing is ridiculous.

this is actually such a good essay ur so underrated... like what happened to artist and DEVELOPMENT??? what about training??? and why are these massive companies skimping out on it- imo the current smaller groups have more developed idols, which is so dumb because the big 4 can def be paying for better training

While you do make some valid points in this video I would say that you are only looking at the hate & negativity that BM is receiving at the moment instead of all of the constant growth of fans that they are gradually accumulating and all of the accolades that they have already achieved as such a young group... my point being that ALL of these K-pop groups from all gens go through this (look at all of the hateful comments that people still spew to this day about Blackpink and they ARE the highest bar in the industry... I agree to a certain extent that the girls of Babymonster are a bit too young and unrefined to be put on this stage at this point but while YG's producers are putting out songs that sound like throwbacks of the 90's and 2000's you cannot deny the girls' talent - both as individuals and as a group... whatever melody is given to them, they knock it out of the park... but no matter what, there will always be haters that want to harp on this or knit pick on that... you can't please everybody, but I think that while maybe they're not putting out the most original music ever, they are making hit songs that a very large fan base will continue to listen to & love - and at the end of the day, I'm sure they'll happily take that

Propaganda from fans of other groups. They are afraid of monsters? Ahyeon did nothing wrong, and they all have mad skills. Just watch vocal coach reaction. I've seen 3, and they all Babymonster rules vocals. Rule live singing. Who knows more about vocal. I know which source I'm trusting.

I feel like these companies know that fans will hype up anything, especially intl stans, so they don't have the same imperative to make sure each idol is debuting while knowing the basics. I think all the recent performance controversies stem from that.
