- Street test of roland micro cube combo, 2 watt, 6AA batteries. The guitar is Ibanez SZ 520. As a sending I used Joyo Digital Guitar Wireless System Transmitter Receiver JW-01. You can find it on eBay for about 70$.
I tried this amp out last night in my local guitar warehouse shop it's very light to pick up and is very compact and the one thing I was surprised with was the quality of the sound. This amp is ideal to play in your home but not so for outdoor as you have to think off your surroundings but a great amp at an affordable price

how long will it take until the joyo jw-01's rechargeable batteries stop charging? i mean, how many charges until it wears off and drains fast even if you have just recharged it?
I've been using mine for 3 years and I can say that the working time has been reduced. But still it gives me about 2-2.5 hours of work.

Just got that Roland.
This is a great home playing / writing / practice amp.
You want to dial the gain back on the high-gain channel a bit, and watch you don't crank the EQ too bright. Try this channel with slow Flange shift for some fun.
The first British (Vox) model is my all-round favorite and you can raise the gain and treble on this & the two clean models (Roland JC, Blackface.) The Tremolo and Chorus work well, and the Reverb and Delay are very useful. The Phaser is a bit Hendrix-y.
The other 'classic' model (Marshall) is fine but not my favorite sound. It sounds decent with chorus. The Acoustic model is fine too I guess.
A lot of features in a very well thought-out model. Super compact, light and the 6xAA batteries seem to last a very long time (AC adapter included anyway.)
I have had dozens of small amps up to $1500. These are the only ones that have stayed...and I now have 5. Add an EVH 5150 pedal an man o man!

I play guitar casually,though my fave are all heavy metal & 80 rock , got the same cube, cheaper wireless and found them pretty fine.Still saving for the real Ibanez like yours..

Get this amp if you want cheap, but still amazingly good. I wish I knew how good this amp is when I bought my first amp which was a Fender Frontman 15G. Pure trash.
I threw out a Fender Frontman and a Marshall MG10 last year when I moved, both of them basically sucked. I bought em but never liked either much. No FX either.
I wish he had turned up the volume some more. its way more capable at beimg loud than what he sets it at. but maybe not I have the gx I think its the newer one. same idea though same size just more features and aesthetics

GP columnist Jude went to Europe with a well worn 'Cube for Izzy Osborne gigs years ago. Only thing missing back stage then was a space heater.

Hi, thanks for making this video. I have to perform (electric violin with a guitar backing track) at an outdoor wedding ceremony. There will be about 50 people and the space is about 30ft by 30ft. I don't need to be super loud but I need to be heard. And there's no electricity so I need a battery-powered amp. Do you think the Micro Cube would be loud enough for this? Thanks.
You won't know until you try. Honestly, I would only use it for home practice, not for performances. But I had experience performing on the street with this device for a few months. Now, for backing tracks, I prefer using larger speakers (Chinese-made) that run on built-in batteries, sound louder, and cost about the same as the Cube, sometimes even cheaper.

Great! Any sound difference between using a cable and your wireless unit? I was told that the digital/analog bit rate is pretty low (ie poor) on cheap wireless systems leading to a loss of sound quality

Would the micro cube be suitable volume wise to jam and loop myself outdoors with an acoustic guitar? (water flowing, wind, people talking etc)

I have heard the same, but have not tried the GX to compare. I did buy an old preowned Roland Micro Cube though, just incase they get crazy on pricing, and I will say it is an incredible lot of big sond and tons of fun from a small package.

Yes. The amp has auxiliary stereo input on the back. This input is always clean , and as there is no aux volume control on the amp, the volume of your device is controlled by your device. It works great, and you get about 20 hours from batteries if you need to use them.

Привет, дружище. Вижу, юзаешь через беспроводную гитарную систему. Понимаю, что 6 лет прошло. Я этой темой озадачился недавно. У самого роланд кубик GX. Балдею. Только на природе, думаю, лучше совсем без проводов будет. Может, посоветуешь что-то?
Привет! Я до сих пор пользуюсь этой беспроводной системой. Могу её рекомендовать с уверенностью. JOYO JW-01. Возможно уже есть и более новые версии этой модели, я не интересовался.

@@stefanwagner6369 According to the manual - in the room may be. In the open air, barely half of it. And even then only with the best batteries. Note - Duracell is NOT even an average for using in combo with digital effects!

Hi, I just bought this amp and sounds amazing but I have a problem, I use an acoustic guitar with the acoustic SIM setting, max gain, max master, low tone and volume at 1/4 to get the cleanest sound possible, and it sounds perfect. But, if I try to use a higher volume, 1/2 or more, when I play any note and hold it the sound starts being louder and louder, never fades away, feels like if the amp was about to explode, do you know what could be the problem?
It really sounds like you get a feedback. It always happens when you use acoustic guitar with a high volume. I don't think there is a way to avoid this effect. You can try only to go away further from the amp.
I had the same problem with my acoustic bass, it is like that, try it with a electric guitar and you will have no problem

Ibliz Jantan never tried. I didn’t have any lack of high gain overdrive with this combo.
Yea! I tried the MXR Fullbore metal Through the (Brit combo, light gain) and it was Bananaas!!!! Very good amp to try your pedals

В принципе пойдёт. Для этого её и использовали. Но потом захотелось ещё громче. Зависит ещё от того насколько зашумленные проходы.

Nick Lorusso I didn't try. But why not? If you use the amp for practice I think it's fine, but you don't expect a big low bass.

You can use a bass on any guitar amp though you probably won't get a good tone as they're not really built for bass guitars

I used to play through this amp on the street, but I always felt a lack of a volume. If you want to play outside where is noisy you'd better get something more powerful. But I really enjoyed the quality of sound when I played at home.
Joyo JW-01 -Do not buy! The biggest shit I've ever bought. The electronics work, but the connectors are very poor, inaccurate. Not suitable for professional and amateur gaming. Very unreliable. I'm sorry I let myself be fooled, do not do the same!
That's not true, Roland amps are built like tanks. Had many of them and they held up for years with no issue at all !
