  • This is half of a 1969 corvette project I'm starting on. I started the debonding process of removing the body from the birdcage when I noticed a few fiberglass issues that led to bigger body work problems.
My intent is to remove the roof support beam and then utilize it on another birdcage I have that's in better condition to create a complete coupe chassis for a new build. I had hoped to use some of the body, however discovering the history of these panels has led me to other decisions.
The deconstruction has helped me learn a lot about the construction of this car, and hopefully it might help give others direction as well.
1969 Corvette, debonding, bodywork, damage discovery, what not to do

    It can’t get any worse..
Just keep going. You can fix it.
I find it interesting on what hides behind the paint. A few Bubbas here and there.

It's bottled up, I wanted the hammer rather than the scraper

Funny how money dictates our decisions.
