This phone is really good, the only drawback is the lack of a headphone jack.
The screen, speakers, battery life, and performance are great.
Even the camera has been improved (via software) making it really good.
And the deep green looks stunning!
Liion B the headphone jack isn't, the quality is the same and perfect on the dongle, nevertheless the dongle is negligible short

Imran Hussein batteries on bluetooth headphones does not last long when its freezing.. Also a lot of peripherals can be conmected via the heapdhone jack like a microphone, remote etc.
He said that the dongle is included and doesn't compromise quality... he didn't tell you to use Bluetooth headsets... Plus, all the peripherals can be connected via the *INCLUDED* dongle.
I still have my Xperia Z1 compact Snapdragon 800 and still LOVING it! Gonna upgrade to XZ2 compact in the future!

their dual camera phone will be out later this year, they were going to show it off when they showed off the xz2 but they wanted to make last min design changes
If they return to their original design, XZ2 was such a disappointment for me.

It's not really thick though. It's soap shaped, so it's actually really thin around the edges.
Rqoiz it's 11.1mm thick that is off Sony's website lol that is a thick phone does not matter at all the shape of the device...it is still 11.1mm thick

+Peeradech Leelawatasuk I really enjoy mine but it's not as water resistant as the IP certification has you belive. Splashes are okay but complete submersion is not a good idea

You said it doesn't support ANY form of facial recognition, but basically every Android device has Smart Lock which supports facial recognition.

Things like dynamic vibration are the features you don’t pay attention to unless it’s on another device like Samsung or Iphone, I use iPhone but I’ve got a soft spot for Sony.
It's really interesting that it's camera has finally improved. Noone makes headlines about it, but its camera is now better than the S9 and iphone X.
I kind of have to disagree. Check GSMArena's review of it and they also said at how much better XZ2 camera is. Their samples when compared to the S9 is so much better.

'They only use the camera sensor, which most mobile companies do. Samsung uses Sony's camera sensors too, mixing with their own camera sensors. Fine tuning and post processing algo are done by Google, though which gives a night and day difference compared to Sony's mobile phones.
I like your review, solid, consistent, and realistic, Sony makes great phones, too bad they are not mainstream as a samsung or huawei, i think marketing on those are better

I would say that the xz2 is a jack of all trades but master of none

Very specific question, i am changing from iphone to android, i am use to turning the cell data off for specific apps, i have a small data plan, thats why i only use data on certain apps. Will this xa2 ultra do the same??? Thanks
Josh OB you can disable apps in settings or just turn data off.

It depends on your software preference. Huawei has a very heavy android skin with a big iOS inspiration, while the XZ2 has a almost stock like experience
I’d personally pick the XZ2 since it should have better performance and I don’t like the Huawei android
Dario Lindner This statement is based on pure preference and personal choice however neutrally speaking Huawei has a very competitive and great phone in the form of P20. They will surely sell that a lot.
ive been using Huawei for a long time and i had zero problems with it and in the other hand i now many ppl that had alot of problems with Sony
Emka953 You are right. I have used P9 & P10 Plus and faced no issues software wise. Yes it's not stock like however it's fast, responsive & stable.

Why they still stuck with one camera. It was like they one step behind. Because dual cameras its like what market do now and yeah take off the headphone jack for modern country its ok but for developing country like mine (ind) it was like disappointing cause actually there's so many sony fanboy in my country but sony like abandon us. It's not a bad thing, actually I'm a Sony user..yes the processor is good, but it will be a killer when the front camera is upgraded also... A little disappointed with this new flagship, so I'm keeping first my old ZX till new flagship come out.

I don't have to watch the entire video to find out that i need to go to a website or another video to find what i want. He should state that in the beginning of the video. But if he showed some samples and talked a little bit about it, and then refer to the the link... Anyways
Check out GSMArena's camera review. You can also compare the sample photos with S9/iPhone X. XZ2 does so much better.
Smartphones are mostly for private multimedia entertainment...no headphone jack is unforgivable..wide berth
Scanner is slow, design is weird, basically 500$ XZ1 with long screen and that's it, 1000$ XZ2.
Screen is better than XZ1 (looks like oled). U will see much more details in black. I have checked this. The same picture on XZ1 and XZ2. For me design is good, better than copycats today (iphone X). But design is something that everyone judge in own ways.

Rose Ann Selvana I don’t like the trend of no headphone jack but it’s definitely not a deal breaker. Everyone that’s never used a device without a headphone jack should stop complaining about it because it’s not that bad, you still get an adapter. Also I’m sure that in 2 to 3 years even companies like Samsung will sop putting the jack on their phones so you should prepare yourselves

They knew the trends and LDAC has the best wireless audio performance. The caveat: only SONY sell LDAC compatible devices

Don’t buy XZ2, it’s totally a garbage!!! Bought an international version on eBay two weeks ago. Supposed to have beast fast, best audio, great camera! However!!! The camera is suck, poor quality image you got with huge size. Also very bad on focus. I have a DSLR and another iPhone 8 Plus, so I’m ok with camera issue. The damn worst part of this cellphone is heating problem!! Overheating when you’re on video chat or watching videos on RUclips( I guarantee you can fry on it). I played mobile PUBG game and it started to be fucking lagging and unresponsive after 10-20mins!! But my iPhone 8 Plus runs smoothly and accurately no matter how long I play! Only one thing worth to mention is audio quality. It works well with Sony wh 1000xm2. But Still Gonna jump out this crap and try some else.
Sorry but P20 is better It has better Camera , Better Chipset , Better Battery lifem Better Screen and most important it way more cheaper

Emka953 Kirin 970 is worse, p20's screen, speakers and build quality are worse. No IP68 either (if your brand new 600$ P20 accidentally takes a dive it will suddenly become a must have feature). No stock Android, slower and less significant updates from huawei. In addition, I bet xz2 battery life is significantly better. Camera still photos are to be compared yet, of course the double camera on the P20 looks promising but xz2's camera is great, if you find xz2's camera quality disappointing then go buy a DSLR cam, cellphone cams don't get much better right now. Video recording goes to Sony : stabilization, 4K hdr, 960fps 1080p, overall quality. Design: you may like or dislike Sony's new line that's subjective opinion, but at least it is not a copy of the IPhone X. Price difference: 100€ more for the sony.
