But even "little things" like curing my first unknown desease with pills I finally found in Chernogorsk's hospital when I was at the very verge of death already. I love the atmosphere of DayZ. While looting Chernogorsk 2 mid geared players passed me similar to how these 3 guys in the forest walked right past you.
that's why we love dayz. that rify forest encounter feels like a combination of a stealth, survival and a shooter game at the same time. even you will never forget that one.
DayZ provides moments of real tension and the long slogs of running make every little win feel so significant. Fond memories of the very early mod on ArmaII when there was basically no meta, no one knew what they were doing and it genuinely felt like a survival situation that we were all trying to figure out together, fumbling around in the dark with chemlights, trying to get to one of the airfields you'd heard so much about. I remember when even getting to the airfields was considered a big achievement 😂

I’m in a PVE server with pvp zones… figured since I’m a noob- better to get the feel, crafting,building down first before going to a hardcore server lol. I def don’t want to be in a server you’re playing in hahaha

6700 hours here, and yep, its new every.single.time. Sure, getting geared and getting a base up on any map is pretty easy now, but the situations, the people, the near misses with a bear or half a dozen wolves when you are laden down with loot and only carrying an mk2 or a shotgun or something while on a first run inland to your building spot, and on and on... it never ends, and if you get bored, go play on a community, fly around in a heli with an arsenal in your backpack, then when that gets boring, go back to vanilla, and maybe swap to a different map and then back again and then... and then... and then... and then you find you've spent 5000, 7000, 10000 hours and never got bored.

Got it aggroed with blaze double shot on wide open hill below me and full autoed it with ka-101. It got to about 5meters of my face. I then went to put some firewood in my fireplace (IRL) with shaky af hands LOL

I have 40 hours in the game. My most epic moment was following someone trying to say hello and getting mauled by wolves at night while lost in the forest. I try to avoid PVP because I live on apples and fight with a stone knife. My spawn luck is at its worst. I could loot for hours and only find wires or repair kits when all I need is something that can cut a chicken and wood so I can survive longer... Hard and brutal but it's fun. Now I can hear footsteps in my garden when I sleep and shots being fired in the distance 😵🚑
