That's... Kind of the *point?*
In the original D-Sides mod, Skid and Pump even have another song, the Week 6 update also COMPLETELY replaced Senpai and all of his songs, so it never necessarily _had_ to be a remix to qualify as a D-Side song, especially since Cherry/Monster's songs in the mod are their own thing.
