Great review, thanks! It's interesting putting an actual voice to the "voice" of someone on the boards. 😆 My Probus FINALLY arrived today, so I'm stoked to mess around with him! I've yet to combine them (wanted to wait), but I believe your review is very fair considering what I've observed thus far. 👍
Who should care about Scale when Transformers Scale been all over the place since day one 😂😂.. just make your own collection scale up.. These figures are the best representation of Bruticus.. Love them 🥰
I'm with you on the scale. I think it looks great with my MP line and I don't care if it isn't as tall as some of the past Zeta versions from the past. I don't own those and never cared for them. I do love some elements of the upgrade kit. I wish it wasn't $65 though.
Good review, I agree that the ratchets are not strong enough, nor are the knee ratchets, I think swindle could have been a tad bulkier in vehicle mode to offset brawls bulk. It suffers from the same issue as GT Menasor with the way the main bot forms the hips, it’s very G1 toy esq in the way this works but it leads to a lot of instability, if they had a more effective and stronger way of securing the hips in place they would be fine. For a first attempt of a combiner in this line and only the second in the company’s history on top of the all in one gimmick I think it’s a great effort, and I believe it is something they will learn from and develop moving forward with their next combiner Defensor. I like both variants but the add on kit for me tops it off and the feet do add an extra piece of stability, not a fan of the gun though it feels cheap. For me a solid 8/10
Great reviews on the entire set! I'm starting mine soon I have Vortex, Brawl and Blastoff in the mail now! I'm glad I got these guys for bot mode and not combiner though. For that I have Zeta 😁
I have the same ones and I still need to get Swindle and Onslaught. I love them all especially in their individual bot modes. I don't have the Zeta one nor have I ever wanted it. I love the Bruticus that MMC has delivered and I don't care if their scale is a tad small. It works for me.
great review the engineering is crazy and i think there are 3 really good bots (vortex swindle brawl) but you nailed it my biggest problem is build quality. its not built bad but mine is weak in the hips and the knees. Kudos again on the engineering but I think ultimately this is a referendum on why parts forming is the way to go. As always great review
Hey thanks. You're right, partsforming definitely provides more stability. What I'm hoping though is that they push on and improve on the all built in for Defensor. I'm a big fan of simple but smart engineering and I think this is a move in the right direction. They really need to sort the knees out though!
I disagree with parts forming. If you're looking for a none transforming representation of a combiner, then why not a statue, or maybe a company should put out a none transforming action figure. For me, a masterpiece should be all built in because it's the engineering that gets to the representation in all three modes that makes it a masterpiece. I've put off buying any combiner for this exact reason.
Mark Castellanet as good as the engineering is the combined mode has major flaws in the hips and knees. Maybe if they continued this concept they can find a way to make it more stable but with the flaws in combined mode and how off onslaught looks In not mode (not to mention scale) this is an innovative idea that just didn’t pan out. Hopefully they can. Improve on the concept
@@dare2727 I am glad you like the parts forming figures. I would never want to take that away from you. All I am going to say, is that from my personal point of view, a parts forming combiner is a failure of engineering and a lack of imagination. I can admit the joints on the knees and the shoulders could be better, but that's more nit picky rather than a major flaw as to me it presents really well. To me a major flaw is needing an entire shell to make the combiner. If you are just going to stick figures on and in a shell, why not just make a separate combine form? Again this is just my opinion. Aa for size, g1 is all over the place. I am okay with this scale.
Mark Castellanet I think you misunderstand. I agree with you I even did a video on RUclips about how parts forming is the ultimate cheat code. That said if this is the alternative than it lacks and things specific to this set I have already said. I would rather not have parts forming but we don’t have a better alternative yet
Great review my friend. In regards to the ratchets I do believe that they could be a tad stronger but however I think they are okay in regard to the weight of the combiner itself now if anything was any heavier they would more than likely fail completely. I imagine a lot of companies have a tough time of ratchets for instance I find dx9 ratchets for their combiner to be too strong so tight indeed it could possibly damage the toy
I am really curious if in a future release of Onslaught they don't replace the ratchet joints for the shoulders and knees automatically to avoid this issue. I have Brawl, Vortex, and Blastoff, and I intend to get Swindle and Onslaught but I really wonder if the issues they have with Onslaught are not dealt with in a rerelease in the second wave.
First review of yours I’ve seen and I really liked it. Subscribed. Nice work mate
Hey, thank you!
Brawl is waiting for me when I get home. Can't wait to combine these guys.
I did a quick comparison between zeta and ocular max Bruiticus on my channel...check it out...

Hey thank you and thanks for watching! Glad you’ve got the full set together!
Fantastic review! nailed it🤘😁🤘
Hey thanks Kato! Just about to watch yours too, looking forward to it!
@@magnumprime we say, virtually, the same thing 😂 really excellent review

Problem with judging scale is that you are compared against what came before.

Really looking forward to Defensor too! Totally agree with you on Swindle's leg mode, it could've been chunkier.

Oh wow you've got some awesome figures to look forward to! That will be a cool display with the Zeta in combined mode for sure!
Yeah but I want to sell my zeta toys bruticus for this guy because I don’t like the parts forming

Nice job on the review! Cheers!
Thank you!
Great review of MMC Bruticus! Keep up the good work! By the way, just subbed to your channel
Hey thank you!
@@magnumprime You are welcome
Excellent review. Very thorough but succinct.
Thank you!

Hey thank you! I agree with the DX9 if you mean Menasor those are some chunky ratchets, almost feels like it's going to break when you click them!
I got the reissue, and the connector piece to Blastoff has already been replaced, and the knee and hip joints are tighter
The knee ratchets of bruticus needs to be upgraded. Other than that, I like it.
I would use this for legends scale

It could be, I would hope so! They have just done a reissue for Swindle, maybe Onslaught is in the works too.
Yep, what you said.
Theres replacement rachets for the arms
Shall i buy the unique toys set 300 euro for all
In the g1 cartoon and the movie, combiners have megatron about thigh high as well. So, i am okay with this for masterpiece scale.
What did you think about the individual bots? Do you think they would look good on a masterpiece shelf?
Hi, check out my previous reviews of the individual bots. In short answer yes they all look amazing!
I just don’t feel like the “modern” combiners scale needs to be that big lol
They do take up an awful lot of room 😂
Nice but.......Come on Fans Toys🤗✌👍
Will be interesting to see where FT go after they’ve finished Menasor and Superion!
I doubt Fanstoys could do much better than this. They would be painted very well but I'm not really sure they could top what MMC did here.
