    Thank you guys for your talk and for sharing it. Several times I have recognized aspects of my childhood in your videos as I grew up in what you would call a multicultural home. I am my father’s only Caucasian (appearing) child while both my biological older sister and my adopted younger brother are mixed race (half black, half white). I grew up with only my brother in the home and could not imagine our family without him. That said, even now when we are both solidly in our 40’s people will comment with offensive crap about him not being my “real” brother.
    Love you both and the beautiful way you are parenting and sharing your family with us!

      I’m sorry that you had to go through that and still do. We try to speak up so that other families can see that these are important things to discuss with your children and some of the things we go through as multicultural families.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10. "Or do you not know that WRONGDOERS will NOT inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED: Neither the SEXUALLY IMMORAL nor IDOLATERS nor ADULTERERS nor MEN who have SEX WITH MEN [a] 10 nor THIEVES nor the GREEDY nor DRUNKARDS nor SLANDERERS nor SWINDLERS will inherit the kingdom of God". 1st John 1:9 “IF we confess our sins, he ( JESUS THE CHRIST) is FAITHFUL and JUST to FORGIVE us OUR SINS and to CLEANSE US from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS ” (1 John 1:9). REPENTANCE is realigning to truth. It's DROPPING THE ACT. It's acknowledging that we are SINNERS in need of GRACE. 🗝️📖🎁❤️💯🙏🏽⚔️🛡️🔥🕊️🕊️🕊️🔥✝️🧎🏾‍♀️

      Its been proven that being gay isnt a sin in the original works of the bible. In the roman era they had changed the bible to make homosexuality a sin bc their soliders were having sex w/ eachother at wrong times during war and training. They made it a sin.THE ORIGINAL sin is men sleeping with a BOY. A child is what the sin was. Not homosexuality. Learn ur religion

    It seems like racism in general is more prevalent than ever, and in all directions. Teaching your children how to respond and/ or get through it without getting destroyed inside or becoming bitter and hateful is a huge challenge. Good you are addressing that, and it’s NOT needed just for foster and adopting families!

    • @HeyThereWilders
      @HeyThereWilders  Год назад +3

      Im not sure if its that is more prevalent or that because of social media we are just able to see it in real time and the amount that it happens faster.

    • @randomvintagefilm273
      @randomvintagefilm273 Год назад

      It's more prevalent because the media is obsessed with it. They love to cause division and pit us against each other!

    I’m white and not ready to have children yet but when I do, I fully intend to educate my children, no matter what race they are, on this sorta stuff early on. It’s really important that children of all backgrounds have an understanding of racism and how they can work to undue their own internal prejudice because people deserve to be treated with love and respect no matter who they are. I feel like this is especially necessary for people with lighter skin tones because I know that for me I was raised by wonderful parents but society imposes prejudice into your thoughts from a young age and I’ve had to work to sort out my internal biases sometimes because they shouldn’t have been there in the first place! I’ve learned so much about other cultures and how best to love and respect everyone from your channel and other channels and I just want to thank y’all.
    (I hope this didn’t come across in a bad way, I just wanted to acknowledge how people can mean well but still get things wrong, like with the “I don’t see color” phrase, and it’s important to work on ourselves to make certain we unlearn those thoughts)

    • @patriciamora2915
      @patriciamora2915 Год назад +1

      I couldn’t really hear what you were saying about the phrase I don’t see color. I never thought of it as bad before my son in law said something. He’s African American and My daughter is half white and half Mexican. My daughters father told her boyfriend the same that your father said “ I don’t care what race you date as long as they treat you right.” I always thought that sentence just always meant I don’t look at a person by their race I get to know them as the person they are. I wish I had some of your literature if you had some to hand out in that seminar. I’m a white grandma with 5 grandchildren that are white and Mexican and going to be 2 pretty soon that are white,Mexican and African American and I love them equal. It hurts me to see what some children and adults go through because of racism.

      You stated your comment perfectly! The fact that you are aware of some implicit bias that may have been bestowed upon you while you work to sort them through or unlearn to relearn is commendable! We all have unlearning and relearning to do in some shape, form, or capacity. 🫶🏾😌

      You should watch their earlier videos. Jenna does awesome baking while talking about each of they're kids birth stories with them. @Jenna how do you deal with other people immediately assuming your kids aren't yours. I had that happen the other week with my son when an older white woman couldn't appear to comprehend that this light skinned child wad mine.

    This video is more powerful than you know. I am an aunt to so many interracial nieces and nephews. My own sister is very light skin while the rest of us are Geena's color or darker. Everyone thought she was adopted. She is not. She looks like our great grandmother. There are things we have educate our children about that white people do not have to do, especially our young boys. Thank you for showing the clip about the basketball players throwing shade and how people reacted only when the black girl did it and not the white one. We as a people need to do better. 😢
