Just wanted to drop in and thank you all (Vaati, Veselekov, and fans) for your continued support and kind words. I can't believe it's been 5 years since this dropped. Nearly 3 million views? That is fucking crazy. Even if I've decided to step away from writing music about video games, I am forever grateful to the Souls community. The band is almost entirely self-sustaining thanks to you all, and it wouldn't have been possible without you. - Aleks, Tanuki
VaatiVidya lol vaati, just got here from the prepare to cry after seeing it in my recommended and thinking "i'll watch this again" lo and behold you must have thought the same thing an hour ago :P
its been 6 years now... and still, everytime i hear this song i get goosebumps and tears in my eyes. i dont know why this is happening but i guess its because it reminds me of my first playthrough, the hours i spend on this game, researching the internet for storylines, watching endless videos and because dark souls is one of the best games ever created. it fills me with joy and memories. this song is a masterpiece and is, and ever will be, one of a kind. thank u tanookisuit for making this beautiful song. and thank you vaati for sharing it!
@The Laynz the only thing that made me feel like that was hearing gwyns theme at the end of ds3 the first time. But I love this game and it gives me something to do while I wait
I can totally imagine the crowd at one of their shows praising the sun during the chant at the end. That thought just gives me goosebumps, in a good way.
***** I know exactly how you feel, I love this song. It's actually a little poppier than i'm used to but it really grew on me and now I use it as my ringtone. lol.
The Age of Fire has long since passed The Age of Dark is inevitable And yet we struggle on, and humanity survives. A shell of its former self, an effigy of the Golden Age, but it yet survives.
Been struggling with Gwyn for an entire day. Frustration building, pressure rising. Mutes in-game music and plays this instead. Fueled by hype-ass music. Finally beats the lord of cinder. Relief ensues. Goddamn, what a way to end NG+7 And it's all thanks to this song, backed by half-decent timing, trembling hands, coffee and a comfy office chair. Praise it.
+Cass Griffon how come everyone has so much trouble with gwyn? he's supposed to be farily easy since he is so drained and hollowed lore wise xD 3 parry's no problem on my first try
Shadey Mcbones While you're not entirely wrong, Gwyn is most likely not supposed to be easy, but rather EASIER than what his true potential is. Think about it, considering the challenge he can be as a mindless, hollow shadow of his former self, I think it is somewhat safe to assume that he would be a nearly impossible foe if we'd met him at a much earlier time.
Cass Griffon thats for certain xd would have been cool if they implemented the invader boss feature in gwynn in some way. but instead of invading a players world with your own character like in demon souls, you control gwyn
how has it nearly been seven years since this came out? Time really does fly by huh. It doesn't feel like that long ago that I was a little kid playing dark souls for the first time and for the first time being so incredibly proud of something that I've done. God this always makes me so emotional.
1.- Yes the lyrics are just an explanation to the main lore of DS 1 2.- No, i dont care about the first point 3.- Yes the song is amazing 4.- It fills me with FEELS, and after so much time thats hard to achieve so... 5.- Personally this song is better than "Hollow" (Hollow isnt bad tho). 6.- Praise the sun. 7.- I like to play this song while fighting Gwyn, it makes me imagine Oscar watching me from the entrance as a ghost, being proud of what i achieved. EDIT: 8.- 1:50 this line is the one that hits me the more... Gwyndolin always hurts me.
Here I am, almost a decade since I first heard this song, and yep, still crying slightly just as well. Gods I love this series and what it brought into the world so much... Vereor Nox.
There's something truly magical about this community. Call me crazy, call me naive. But I feel like a very select breed of people are drawn to the Souls series. Almost every person I ask about this series has either no idea what it is or they DO know what it is and can't stand it. When Dark Souls launched in my state there were 3 people there.... And even those 3 people didn't seem nearly as "into it" as I was. I was beyond disappointed. I have high hopes for Dark Souls 2 since the growth of this franchise has amounted to something impressive over the past 2 years. But I think this song is nothing short of brilliant. It really cups a hold of your enthusiasm for this game and creates a sensation that not everyone is going to feel and I'm proud of that. These games are scary and that's the ultimate truth. It takes the will of a knight and the heart of an adventurer to stand up to this series, arms in hand. Well I appreciate this series with all of my heart and soul. When Dark Souls 2 arrives I'll be ready to tread the unknown once again with my sword gripped tight shield held high. Remember this: Whatever awaits in this series, new or old, you will always have an amazing community to turn to. Never forget that.
I bought it at a friend's recommendation a few months after it was released. Sure I started off dying every 5 minutes but there was something about it that made not give up, no matter how great my frustrations grew, or how angry I was getting both at the PvE and the invaders who in my eyes back then were gods of the game. Watching someone pick apart a group of 3 people, whether with lightning weapons early on or simply excellent battle tactics and parry skills was my motivation to get better at the game. I'm certainly no Eliiti or Peeve, but I'm happy that I can use my current favourite build and hold my own in about 3/4 of my matches. The online community seems so helpful. Any time I turn to forums for an idea or a strategy or a weapon tutorial, there is never a negative attitude towards anything. And there's always new content being put up online of this game. It's truly a unique experience playing this game, which still retains a massive community over 2 years since its release.
I bought it because I felt it was a gamer's challenge and I wanted to beat it. But then I just got drawn into it and now I love it. I'm helping people out all the time and they are always so thankful. Oddly enough a lot people who play this game play lost planet 2 :l Praise the Sun!!
Its really amazing how much people enjoy Dark Souls, they just don't know about it yet. In the past couple months, I've gotten at least three of my friend really into the game only a couple weeks after getting it myself. The community only grows.
A decade ago, my best friend heard this song, and decided to give Dark Souls another shot because of it. Later, he made me give it another shot after I had given up. Today, I start the DLC to elden ring. I have played through every title, and more than my fair share of soulslikes as well. This song created two lifelong fromsoftware fans, and I’m sure many, many more.
Almost eleven years later and this is still the song that best matches what makes Dark Souls 1 special in my opinion. It gets me emotional listening to it even know. When encountering seemingly impossible challenges, beating addiction or whatever it may be, defiantly repeating “I will walk through the fog, and I welcome death.” Don’t you dare go hollow, friends.
Right?! I just came back to it and it nearly brought me to tears. I've been trying to make stuff similar but I could never produce something this iconic. May your sign shine gold, friend
The great thing about this song is that even if you don't play dark souls you can still interpret it as many metaphors describing life and the struggle between good and evil, heaven and hell, and god and satan trying to draw you toward their ways. For instance, "a pilgrim from the asylum" could be any person on there adventure through the insanity that is life. "The parish above"=heaven, "blightbog down below"=hell, and "there guardians still thirst for your cursed blood"=God and satan want your soul. "I will walk through the fog..i will feed to the fire these shards of a soul"=the fog is our blind journey through life and shards of a soul are giving evil or good the fragments of yourself that still exist after the long, difficult journey. Pretty cool if you think about it.
So many memories made between this songs release and today, I feel like I've commented before, but they're lost in a sea of love and support. I look back now, 10 years, and see my growth and the growth of so many things around me, we really stopped linking the fire and chose humanity. Thank you everyone. We still have so much to love and enjoy in the life we're given, not one hollow here anymore.
Wow... this was just awesome. The great amount of lore in the lyrics, those hilarious animated characters (I really loved Nito's Gravelord Guitar!) and the passion you all put into it, in your own way, was incredible. It's creative, fan-based content like this that really inspire me; I'm feeling more and more inclined to perhaps start some Souls' videos for myself, perhaps Dark Souls 2 being an excellent opportunity to do that. I'm not looking to get even a fraction of your subscriber base, or even to get lots of views etc, I just want to help contribute to this awesome community in my own way; whether it's through some corny "Let's Play" vids or through explaining my own theories on the Lore in the universe; I admittedly spend most of my time theorizing on Dark Souls' lore :P Thank you Vaati for being so appreciative to not just the extremely talented fans of Dark Souls, like Tanooki Suit here, but also the grassroots fans too. This kind of cooperation and harmony in the Souls' community is really what makes it such a pleasure of being part of. Keep going Vaati, your huge subscriber count is there for a reason. :)
2019? The torch has been passed onto Sekiro, though it'll never be what the rest of the Dark Souls series has be, and never give us that same spark, and sense of wonder, and pride, it's keeping the series alive, and the momentum going.
Dark Souls, Sekiro and Bloodborne prove that FromSoft does their best work when they're making up new universes. DS2 and DS3 were okay, but something keeps pulling me back to the OG DS1.
This song still kicks so much ass 6 years after it's release. Still love this song and all the videos you make Vaati, continue to rock on and I hope you have a great day.
Yeah, the unstated part of my comment was how similar the lyrics are to other songs of the same genre. If you didn't know Dark Souls lore, the lyrics would seem very abstract and maybe metaphorical, but in this case, nope, that's pretty much exactly what happened (speculatively). Definitely not trying to dig at them at all.
10 years later and I still feel such a great happiness and also a sweet sadness when I think of the original Darksouls. Honestly think I felt most connected and loved to the NPCs of DS1 compared to any other soulsborne game. Always felt so bitter sweet and also empty whenever I either linked the first flame or became the next darklord because all the NPCs became hollow and yet here I stood all alone at the end. Such a wonderful game.
Asiroth Nyoki it is weird. hell, i dunno how you can even see what people are replying to without going onto a new tab or searching through the damn comments! (i cant see a 'show comment' thing) seriously, what was wrong with the old system? it was pretty good in comparison!
You can't reply to old comments before the new system so any comments from now and on can be reply and rated all old are locked, unrateable and unreplyable
This game song me the determination to beat Dark Souls. And by now, it became my favorite game of all time. Never has any game change my attitude towards life as much as Dark Souls. It was not a game to me. It was an experience. Whatever you do in life, don't lose your purpose. The undead's body might not be able to die, but the mind still can. That's how hollows are born.
I'm genuinely shocked this came out so long ago, I still remember listening to hellkite drake and all these souls tubers back when I was just a teenager. Ageless just like the flame that never extinguished.
I will never get tired of this song. I remember when I first started playing Dark Souls and just fell in love with the world and wanted to learn more and more about it. Finding your channel and indulging in your Souls content as well as others, has been a treat. I listen to this song atleast once every other day
For a brother is in need to find.... It almost seems like Dark Souls is about companionship, simply because of how valuable the aid of a stranger is in this game. Think about it: you gladly take up Solaire's offers to help you, and can summon a multitude of companions at times to assist you, and most of the time you end up needing their help to get through the game's bosses in one piece. And you are rewarded for your assistance, as well. Solaire gives you sun Amulets, Siegmeyer distracts the enemy so you can escape, and you receive humanity if you can save another soul when you are summoned. And even if you aren't directly assisting the others around you, people are able to see your actions all around them. Touch a bloodstain and learn of a brother's unfortunate demise, watch a ghostly figure roll through a hallway to avoid a bolder that you weren't aware of until then. You can even see the words of the damned who came before you, who do their best to assist you in whatever way they can. But at the same time, Dark Souls is also about Treachery, because the player is not required to assist his Brethren. He may deceive, confuse and even murder other players in order to better himself, and even then that player may be murdered as punishment for his crimes. And when the Cleric murders his party and abandons them, he too can be punished for his treachery. All in all, Dark Souls is a game that shows that Companionship is an invaluable tool, and that treachery is condemnable in the Land of Ancient Lords.
Your contribution to the DS community does not go unnoticed. The effort you put into what you do is apparent, and I want to personally thank you on behalf of the community, because I'm confident I have the right to do so. Anyone who doesn't appreciate this simply does not belong here. Keep up the good work.
By far the best of the three soulsongs. This one perosnifies the game in a way the other two don't. This song invokes memories of my first, second, and every play through of my Dark Souls career. the emotions portrayed in the song are genuine and honest to the themes of the game. 10/10 Please let us see a Soulsong like this for something within the Scholar of First Sin, Vaati!
Man, I suddenly remembered this song after so, so many years... funnily enough, while I was playing Elden Ring did it come to mind once again. I still remember the day a coworker recommended I check it out while at work like, eight years ago, and I ended up listening to it on repeat for days on end. Love this game and this series so much, and I'm so happy I've been able to witness the evolution of From Softwares games over the many, many years. Love you too, VaatiVidya. All your content has always been a joy to watch/listen to ♥
Its been a whole decade. Aleks still deserves all the love in the world for all of his masterful work. But this just hits a special pocket. Thank you, Aleks. You're truly grossly incandescent.
Coming back to this, it is probably THE BEST sendoff to Dark Souls the community has ever put together. The story told through the lyrics, the powerful christian rock style, and the sublime video editing with Veselekov's animations. It's all so great, and truly encompasses what Dark Souls meant to the people who love it so much. Congrats to everyone who put this together. You're truly the greatest of the Souls community.
I play through dark souls yearly the game and it’s lore got me through some dark days and so does this song aswell as the other dark souls inspired songs you have done @VaatiVidya you and all the people involved saved my life. Thank you ❤
+Aimzy CS GO play it again :) i am already ng+12 and i have fun :D its never get lame... to many thinks to do... like kill artorias, or make new charakter and gank new players with the words "welcome to darksouls *whisper whisper
Better yet, if you listened to this song without knowing the existence of dark souls, and then end up playing it later, where all of this makes sense...
I'm actually finally coming around to really enjoying this song. I guess I was part of the crowd that didn't think the style of the song really fit the game well at first, but once you get past that, it really is the best soulsong.
No bombast. Can we please get a Bloodborne Soulsong, Vaati? I know Elden Ring just released so I'm not holding my breath, but the game was a masterpiece and you're the only person worthy of the job.
11 years later. My goodness, it's been a ride since i last listened to this. I'm happy this song found me again, right when i need it most! Don't any of you go Hollow.
You defeat the Four Kings of New Londo, corrupted by their temptations into monsters. You slay the traitor Seathe, who lost his sanity to the Crystals. You destroy the Bed of Chaos, formed of the good intentions of the Witch of Izalith. You put to rest the fading Lord of Sunlight- Gwyn, Lord of Cinders. And you bring death to the unchanging, unending king of Death himself, Nito. Not in that order, mind you, but it says something. One of the themes of this game, in however much of a limited quantity it is shown, is that death is unchanging. Every other Lord Soul and Lord Soul Shard is a faded, corrupted version of what it used to be... except for Gravelord Nito.
Nito does change, however. Death no longer came to humanity; each person the darksign spread to (sooner or later, everyone) lessened the power of Death until Nito was a ragged, tortured shell with an unfed soul. He strove, then, to spread as much death as he could to all the undead (the gravelords)- but that was it. They were undead. He could no more kill them than he could become something else. Nito perished at the Chosen Undead's hand, and the last true death he could grant was his own.
The whole nature of undeath is being unable to die according to the beliefs of Lordran and Drangleic and what their arcane sciences tell them. What we believe to be the nuances of their undeath is meaningless, as it is the beliefs of the people in the Dark Souls universe that matter in this instance.
I'll add into this conversation as well that even disregarding the Undead, Nito's Lord Soul may have been the soul of Death; but he didn't draw power from death. His soul was still linked to the First Flame like the other 2 Lord Souls were. So he's just as decayed as the other Lords are. Probably even more actually since a not minuscule amount of his remaining power was taken from him by Pinwheel. Its probably why he can't go gravelording himself and needs to rely on his proxies to do most of his work for him.
ScarletSoul "Not miniscule" Pinwheel, easiest boss in game. Seriously, though, you do have a point. One way or another, Nito was diminished to the point where he was *obviously* not of the same strength he was when displayed during the opening cinematics- the chosen undead would crumble just because Nito willed it, otherwise, the moment they locked eyes and eyesockets. He would never have had to use his blade, or call summons (raise skellies) at all- the Chosen would land, get rekt, and that would be it each time he or she tried. Looking at it with the additional viewpoint that Pinwheel was involved in Nito's ruin, makes it seem like Death, above all the other shards of the First Flame, got hit the hardest- which makes sense, considering the very thing that makes the Chosen so hard to put down for good.
I completely understand the bands composition. Ravelord Nito on the Gravelord Guitar, Lautrec Dualwielding Drumsticks, and Solaire singing because he is the sun, and the sun is the star. ;)
MrSamulai The Soul of Cinder is the amalgamation of anyone and everyone who linked the first flame, sacrificing themselves to protect and keep the flame alight. That's why when the SoC goes into his second phase, he returns to the original the strongest Soul that the fire absorbed, Lord Gwyn.
This song comes up on my Spotify playlist all the time, I have loved it and known every lyric for over 9 years, but I've got to come back to this video every once and a while for the amazing visuals to accompany the amazing audio. Even after DKs2 and 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and now ER, this game will forever hold a place high on my list of favorite things ever. This song harkens back to so many memories and I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for putting this all together and to everyone who had any part in its creation (Just a few years late I know, I'm sorry).
Every once in awhile I return to this song to recapture those moments before facing against Gwyn for the first time. I took the time to understand the lore before reaching him, and felt like the battle was absolutely amazing. The somber music of a beating, and battered king fighting for his last fleeting breath. Gwyn defended the flame against any and all oncomers, despite being a shell of his former self (love that lyric). The chose undead kenw he was there, but was not prepared for the husk of a once legendary king, and the player was not prepared for the warrior that still resided here. He may not be in his prime, but your job is to put him out of his misery.
You sir, deserve a like! You deserve many, many fucking likes! Superb work. Not just awesome music, but also a nice insight into the complex and difficult story of the game.
Without fail, Anytime I struggle during a boss fight in Any Souls game, I return to this video and blast this music as loud as I can, and more often than not by the end that boss will lay before me defeated. There is a strange power in this song, a burning flame that will spur on that fight. Keep fighting brothers and Sisters, Never go Hollow.
I imagine it’s the community singing at the end. Together around a bonfire 00:59 the lightning goes so well with the music 1:53 the glitching sky. By Gwyn it’s so perfect The ending is so haunting. Just like dark souls the joy of the song fades and it’s just a hollow gwyn standing in the ash
I'm here. 8 years later. After traveling several cursed lands to only arrive in another. I am here to remember my roots
Elden ring is out but I doubt there will be a song about it as good as this
@@therubberduck6178 its only been a few months. Someday perhaps...

"If only I could be so grossly incandescent" makes me cry every time

It's a combination of the line and also seeing Solaire being summoned for the Gwyn fight
"A radiant sun, forged by the feeble hands of a child not fit for his throne"
That line is so well written and I look forward to it each replay.

And it's all thanks to this song, backed by half-decent timing, trembling hands, coffee and a comfy office chair.
Praise it.

1.- Yes the lyrics are just an explanation to the main lore of DS 1
2.- No, i dont care about the first point
3.- Yes the song is amazing
4.- It fills me with FEELS, and after so much time thats hard to achieve so...
5.- Personally this song is better than "Hollow" (Hollow isnt bad tho).
6.- Praise the sun.
7.- I like to play this song while fighting Gwyn, it makes me imagine Oscar watching me from the entrance as a ghost, being proud of what i achieved.

8.- 1:50 this line is the one that hits me the more... Gwyndolin always hurts me.

I can't believe this is 6 years old. God damn i can't believe how old this masterpiece of a song (and game) is
Here I am, almost a decade since I first heard this song, and yep, still crying slightly just as well.
Same here, but 73 people were there...>> i still play dark souls lol even when i beat it so many times..it never gets easy
***** same for me i had no idea what dks was until my friends told me what it was and i was like that sounds badass as a motherfluffa
Still the best soulsong.
lndeed
+Deviljho Came here from "hollow" didn't you? This song just can't be topped can't it?
way better then the others, mad respect
Deviljho I can't decide on the best, Fires fade and Forever Flane are great too.
Always.
PRAISE!!!...THE ****ING!!! ....SUN!!!
Almost ten years and this still bops
after hearing the new soul song i had to come back to the best and hear it again. still gives me chills these years later.
Almost eleven years later and this is still the song that best matches what makes Dark Souls 1 special in my opinion. It gets me emotional listening to it even know.
When encountering seemingly impossible challenges, beating addiction or whatever it may be, defiantly repeating “I will walk through the fog, and I welcome death.”
Don’t you dare go hollow, friends.
Right?! I just came back to it and it nearly brought me to tears. I've been trying to make stuff similar but I could never produce something this iconic. May your sign shine gold, friend
8 years later, still my favorite soulsong, and one of my favorite songs in general.
And to those people We'll say: Welcome to Dark Souls mate :')
That's actually a really interesting way to interpret this song. Thanks for the food for thought :)
I really wanted to like your comment but sir, you have 69 thumbs up already. I shall not spoil your achievement
I always come back here from time to time, the nostalgia..
Still do
Wow... this was just awesome.
I'm not looking to get even a fraction of your subscriber base, or even to get lots of views etc, I just want to help contribute to this awesome community in my own way; whether it's through some corny "Let's Play" vids or through explaining my own theories on the Lore in the universe; I admittedly spend most of my time theorizing on Dark Souls' lore :P
Thank you Vaati for being so appreciative to not just the extremely talented fans of Dark Souls, like Tanooki Suit here, but also the grassroots fans too. This kind of cooperation and harmony in the Souls' community is really what makes it such a pleasure of being part of. Keep going Vaati, your huge subscriber count is there for a reason. :)
"Ravelord Nito"
@@silverblade357 DS3 is great what are you on about?
@@LambSKUM DS2 and DS3 are pretty great, but neither pull me back months later or into my next playthrough like the original games.
@@silverblade357 Look forward to Elden Ring then, the rumors say its coming in January
This song still kicks so much ass 6 years after it's release. Still love this song and all the videos you make Vaati, continue to rock on and I hope you have a great day.
Ravelord Nito, the first to the party!
feat. DJ Solaire.
You mean gravelord -_-
UhhEnvyous No, I most definitely mean Ravelord
I hope you're joking
Unless I would recommend you consider context
Those lyrics were extremely straightforward considering how convoluted the story itself was.
Well you can hardly fit every single piece of lore in the entire game into one song, this song covers the main points while still sounding like a song
Billy Nitro though still being about dark souls i feel it for me can still be metaphorical and mean more to me.
Billy Nitro The story is still pretty sad for me lol. Japanese love their tragic genres.
"A clever deceit, to make everyone believe, the Lords haven't left them behind."
So what's going on with this new commenting system? Can you only reply to people who have linked their account with G+?
Yup, it's all forms of terrible :/
I guess so which is really weird. Why does youtube keep changing all these things about itself in really weird ways?
Asiroth Nyoki it is weird. hell, i dunno how you can even see what people are replying to without going onto a new tab or searching through the damn comments! (i cant see a 'show comment' thing) seriously, what was wrong with the old system? it was pretty good in comparison!
You can't reply to old comments before the new system so any comments from now and on can be reply and rated all old are locked, unrateable and unreplyable
But then they couldn't force us to use G+ and try flash #s in facebooks face D:
This game song me the determination to beat Dark Souls.
And by now, it became my favorite game of all time. Never has any game change my attitude towards life as much as Dark Souls. It was not a game to me. It was an experience.
Whatever you do in life, don't lose your purpose. The undead's body might not be able to die, but the mind still can. That's how hollows are born.
bruh great comment like really good
a tear fell here :')
Kirito in your avatar
yeah xD
I'm genuinely shocked this came out so long ago, I still remember listening to hellkite drake and all these souls tubers back when I was just a teenager. Ageless just like the flame that never extinguished.
This video is a core memory
1:44 Praise the sun!
The song with the in game clips gave me goosebumps. Amazing job putting this together.
Truer words about the player nature in D-Souls were never spoken.
That's it brother, Dark Souls is about the nature of man.
Great thinking, let me summon a random stranger into my game (5 hours later) finally, someone gets in (*game crash)
Mr95noodles Yeah. I know the feeling. I hope it is much improved in Dark Souls 2.
TrueHolyRune Trust me, it is. MUCH easier. The signs only appear if it's a definite summon, and they are actually pretty common.
Your contribution to the DS community does not go unnoticed. The effort you put into what you do is apparent, and I want to personally thank you on behalf of the community, because I'm confident I have the right to do so. Anyone who doesn't appreciate this simply does not belong here. Keep up the good work.
OMG WORDS CANT EXPLAIN THE AWESOMENESS OF THIS MUSIC
2024, replaying DS1, immediately had this song come to mind. Had to come back and revisit.
Legend has it, that fan made souls songs are actually Gwyns miracles.
This is legitimately good. It's extremely rare to see a good song made by fans.
Just wanted to say Thankyou. It popped up in my playlist and I forgot how often I would listen to this song! Knew every word and it’s been YEARS
Man, I suddenly remembered this song after so, so many years... funnily enough, while I was playing Elden Ring did it come to mind once again. All your content has always been a joy to watch/listen to ♥
Can't believe that day, when i got dark souls 1 for free on the xbox, it would change my gaming lifestyle forever
I got goosebumps from watching this.... although it may have just been my fan blowing on my neck...
Its been a whole decade. Aleks still deserves all the love in the world for all of his masterful work. But this just hits a special pocket. Thank you, Aleks. You're truly grossly incandescent.
THIS. This is just...oh my god. It's SO PERFECT. I can't even....explain my feels of hype towards this. Holy shit. It's fuckin rad.
I cant stop listening to it it's just so good
Hi 10 years later still listening to this masterpiece.
Thank you ❤
I always get chills during that second verse, this shit is seriously incredible.
Got a feeling of nostalgia when I watched this again... Good memories of playing this game.
Zion exactly
+Aimzy CS GO play it again :) i am already ng+12 and i have fun :D its never get lame... to many thinks to do... like kill artorias, or make new charakter and gank new players with the words "welcome to darksouls *whisper whisper
+MrRaven BcB The highest is Ng+7 after that it doesnt get harder
This song would seem cooler if you haven't played Dark Souls and you didn't realized that everything is completely literal lmao
Better yet, if you listened to this song without knowing the existence of dark souls, and then end up playing it later, where all of this makes sense...
Nah its full of spoilers
My friend who hasn't played utterly Hates this song.
Why..?
11 years and it still bangs
I don’t know why, but I’m crying my eyes out listening this song after not hearing it exactly eight years later.
Its so fucking beautiful
The powerful music and lyrics triggered my feels so hard
and then.. I lost my sides at "If only I could be so grossly incandescent"
Still listening in 2016. This is such epic work!
+Amaterasu Gaming You are not alone :D
This song has been stuck in my head for a week and a half now. And I love it.
F & P ♥ 'til the end
11 years later. My goodness, it's been a ride since i last listened to this. I'm happy this song found me again, right when i need it most! Don't any of you go Hollow.
9 years, it has been a long journey. I will listen to this song till the day I die.
Kami Maia While that is deep and all, he did still bring death- Undead can die, they are just reborn to die anew.
ScarletSoul
"Not miniscule"
Pinwheel, easiest boss in game.
This song is masterfully crafted, so much so I had AMV Ideas going through my head listening to it.
I find the line 'If only I could be so grossly incandescent...' quite haunting.
hard to believe this songs 10 years old now still love it!
I completely understand the bands composition. Ravelord Nito on the Gravelord Guitar, Lautrec Dualwielding Drumsticks, and Solaire singing because he is the sun, and the sun is the star. ;)
2:49 That's all Soul of Cinders forms, except the spear. Coincidence?
It's cause Soul of Cinder is the Dark Souls 1 character reincarnated
The bluntness of "burns all his knights alive" made me giggle a bit.
I had a dream last night that I was in Anor Londo, and this song was playing in the distance. Had to come listen to this upon waking up. Still rocks!
Without fail, Anytime I struggle during a boss fight in Any Souls game, I return to this video and blast this music as loud as I can, and more often than not by the end that boss will lay before me defeated. There is a strange power in this song, a burning flame that will spur on that fight. Keep fighting brothers and Sisters, Never go Hollow.
yo this is still lit af
PRAISE THE SUN!!
Rightly so!
ive never felt so old as when vaati said "its been 2 years since dark souls released" god cant belive ds1 came out a decade ago
This song is still the Lord of Cinder among soulsongs.
turn on computer > open this video > open up dark souls 3 to play ashes of ariandel > get the chills > get f*ckin hyped
I want the dlc but I'm saving up for the Nintendo switch. Have fun in ariandel.
No other video game has people as dedicated to the title as the Souls community
Tf2? osu? Geometry dash?
I imagine it’s the community singing at the end. Together around a bonfire
00:59 the lightning goes so well with the music
1:53 the glitching sky. By Gwyn it’s so perfect
The ending is so haunting. Just like dark souls the joy of the song fades and it’s just a hollow gwyn standing in the ash
