    Welcome back, everyone!
This is my final Scotland travel video. The last leg of my journey started in Thurso, the most northern town in Scotland, before heading to the capital city, Edinburgh. The train from Thurso suddenly got cancelled due to technical issues before we were rescued by ScotRail themselves.
I then continued my train from Inverness to Aberdeen (the city of granite), stayed overnight and departed another train to Edinburgh the following day. The train ride to Edinburgh is a continuation of the East Coast Main Line that is scenically, geographically and in engineering terms, one of the best. The train passed by 2 magnificent bridges, the Tray and Forth Bridge, that are considered as one the greatest engineering triumphs.

Amazing and beautiful presented video as always Syifa I am patiently waiting for your next adventure ☺️ Very happy you and your fellow passengers got rescued by ScotRail ☺️ I know all too well about issues with trains my last train trip had issues luckily it was during the day as it added 4 hours to the trip of 5 already. Freighter lost some axles on a few cars which took that long to fix would have been few more if it happened at night.

Scotland is so nice, despite of the geographical region spread out like that plus the gloomy weather yet the country looks so neat and clean, they also have better public transportation management than some countries in Europe, the train and boat journey look comfortable.

Thankyou Syifa, have enjoyed your videos. You give an excellent presentation. Mentioned before (do not expect you to remember) my forebears came from Scotland. My grandmother always told me when I was growing up how wonderful it was in Scotland, I think in reality she was recalling her youth. I have visited twice but briefly so hope to get back maybe in 2024. The unusual thing for me when I visited I felt strangely at home. Must be more in our heritage than we sometimes give credit to. Enjoy your new homeland.

Nice video, and Thurso is the most northerly station of the British railway network, and the most northern town on mainland Scotland. Scotland does however have at least two more towns which are further north. They are Kirkwall in Orkney and Lerwick in Shetland. These islands are all part of Scotland and , for now, part of UK.

Hi Syifa, enjoyed your videos in my old homeland. Just one point, an error you made a couple of times. Thurso is not the most Northern town in the UK and nearby Dunnet Head is not the most Northerly point in the UK. They are the Northernmost town and geographical point on the mainland of Great Britain. The most Northern point in the UK is Muckle Flugga Lighthouse on a tiny islet just off the north coast of Unst - the most Northerly inhabited island in the Shetland Isles.
Aberdeen can be a miserable place on a cold wet day and the grey of the granite building adds to that. There is a good Scots word for that - 'driech'.

dear Syifa, I'm getting more and more accustomed to your ways of showing my homeland-of-choice (I'm German, living here since 25 years)... you do a great job - well filmed and very personal in the way, you let us join you on your explorations... I've seen your clip with your partner and husband recently... it is so personal and intimate the way you do this, and also so honest, sharing the challenge of exposing yourself so much (and being an introvert by nature, which I am too)... I'm so happy to have discovered your channel, and I will certainly continue following you... I wish you the very best for landing in a country, that surely is magical, but yet also so different to your country of origin... I love you, Syifa, and I'm sure, many of your followers feel the same... I hope you always can feel the heartbeat of this country, also when its very dark almost 'forever' (in Winter), and so wet... thank you for the Indonesian sunshine, that you pour on all of us here in rainy Sco'land... xx :)

Hello Syifa, thanks for an enjoyable video. Yes Aberdeen is a 'grey' place and that's why it's called the granite city. Pity you weren't able to show the Forth Bridge in more detail ... it's really an engineering marvel with its design inspired by a Japanese engineer. It's good you were able to escape London which, as you have found, is not typically UK !

    • @muhd7144
      @muhd7144 2 года назад +1

If I may add, the Japanese engineer was Kaichi Watanabe (1858 - 1932) who graduated with BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 1886 - probably the first Japanese engineer to study and work in the UK. Watanabe demonstrated the cantilever design of the Forth Rail Bridge in an event in 1887 that was captured in a famous photograph where he perches between Sir John Fowler and Sir Benjamin Baker, providing a human cantilever model. In 2007, this photograph was incorporated into the design of the £ 20 banknotes issued by Bank of Scotland to commemorate Watanabe, Fowler and Baker's contributions to Scottish bridge engineering and their work on the Forth Rail Bridge.

@@muhd7144 Hello and thank you for this valuable information. It's a pity Syifa was unable to show a photo of the Forth Bridge ... there's nothing like it (in termas of size/grandeur) anywhere in the world. Yes I recall that famous photograph of the Japanese engineer perched between the two UK nationals. Many years ago I bought a book about the bridge and that photo was on the cover !

A nick name for Aberdeen is Granite City, because of the stone used for many of the buildings.
Scotland when the sun shines is glorious. The rain can spoil that impression, but if it was not for rain there would not been all the rivers and lochs.

Aberdeen is famous for its oil industry and for Granite.
Known affectionately as The Granite City
Aberdeen is also known as a city for pioneering many new business and environmental projects. For example there's an intention to make public transport in Scotland much more environmentally friendly by switching to alternative fuel supplies in order to power buses and trains.
Aberdeen is the first city in Scotland to use a whole new fleet of hydrogen fuel cell double decker buses as of January 2021.

Correction : Tay bridge and not TRAY bridge.
I was graduated from Aberdeen University way back in late 80s. Since then I haven't been back, I am really looking forward to see again the beautiful Aberdeen city and the surrounding fascinating tourist spots.

You’re welcome Syifa plus It’s raining here in Montréal Quebec Canada today September 13, 2022 and more rain showers 🌧 later this week. Our summer was under heat warnings daily.. I love the rain ☂ I always wanted to travel but with family 2 kids and to jobs now at 67 I enjoy watching your channel the landscapes, photography angles and your imagination in editing brings your daily journey alive.. I worked for 33 years in photography in sports, news and weddings on weekends and my full time job of 44 years in mechanical engineering and design.. I miss working with people… enjoy your challenges ahead
