    Rickson did that exercise on the beach in Choke! Always wondered what the point was lol Keep the passers grips off the legs!

    Thanks for this video! I'm going over my grip fighting fundamentals.
    So, on what you said about isolating the legs from the body: when attempting to pass an opponent's guard I will sometimes push their knees against their chest with my bodyweight to try to set up a toreando pass. Am I just giving them what they want by helping them stay tight?

      The toreando is a great pass but in nogi might not be the best option against a good guard player in no gi. Depending on the skill of the person on bottom it could be the right move or the wrong move.
