The disappearance of the Aral Sea in Central Asia is one of the world's greatest man-made disasters. In Kazakhstan, with the help of the World Bank, more than $80million have been spent trying to save the most northern part of the sea but this has only benefited a few hundred people. In this film, we speak to people still living in deserted fishing ports, to see how their lives have changed, and to find out whether they believe that they'll ever see the sea again.

I read that building a channel that would divert a small portion of Ob river water to Aral sea in order to completely refill it would cost around 30 billion dollars. For thirty billion one time investment we could save it. That’s like 5-10% of annual military budget of United States. Humans are disgusting aren’t they?

Are you ready to face the people anger since their cotton business are disturbed? Also, they must be reject it since cotton is one of the currently highest Uzbekistani commodity.

From being the number 1 producer and user of solar panels/energy, to spending billions to plant trees and beat back the desert, creating the most massive hydro electric damn, cancelling hundreds of coal power plants and shutting down older ones. I read about an immortal man who was traveling the world for many centuries. One day he arrived to a big city with a huge population he stayed for a night then left, after 1000 years he returned and found the city in ruins and Abandoned ! Two men were walking near the ruins he asked them what happened to the city that was here ? They said we don’t know what you are talking about, there was no city here or anything, this place been like this since the dawn of age. The man left and returned after another 1000 years and found the ruined city became a big lake ! The were some people fishing, he asked them when did this place become a lake, i remember it was a destroyed city?
They said we don’t know what you’re talking about but this lake been here since the dawn of time. He left and returned after 1000 years and found the lake is gone and in its place a big populated city

The world is getting hotter and hotter. 36 years ago the average temperature everyday in my country was 24, 25 degrees celcius. It was very comfortable to be around.
Now the average everyday temperature has risen to 35 degrees celcius.Even during the night we're sweating here.
I think the next 36 years the temperature will rise to be more than 40 degrees celcius.
It will be terrible life here.

I was playing a game with a map of the world during WW2 and a saw this sea to the east of the Caspian Sea so I went to check it out. I almost couldn’t find it in google maps and I thought the developers had been lazy about an often overlooked part of the world, but now I’ve come to learn, it did used to look like that. Wow. I am blown away how quickly it has dried out.

😂 I laughed alot cuz of comments
I am an Arab and we are well known to have camels since centuries. It’s not cuz he gonna escape or like that but the camels especially the male one has a very strange habit called jealousy. He doesn’t like any other males to be near to him. If he gets angry he will start eruption with everyone including his owner too . The camels are well known of their anger . even in Arabic we say “ a person has an extremely anger like a camel”
So in order to avoid those subsequences always rope his feet so slowly he can move even when he got anger still you can manage to calm him down before he harms others camels or people
That’s it . Hope you get your answer

It got fed by a sea until the Soviets made massive irrigation systems and over years it slowly dried up and shrunk, the Soviets also built a dam which blocked the flow of water and yup it dropped big time. Watch more videos, they show people travelling from villages like these to where the water was in 2017 and it takes them hours upon hours to get to the water and you'll truly appreciate the beauty of what this sea once was I'll never forget the video I once saw it shows massive valleys huge cliff regions wiped free of water. Imagine back in the 1900s there must had been 10 meters of water in the shallow regions with fish flying around, and 50+ meters of water far out with maybe even whales swimming in it just really appreciate it's beauty, I wish I could go there one day even though it's a barren wasteland.
