Great review! I really want one of the new Bachmann V2’s, I just haven’t bought one because it’s a little out of my price range. Regarding having issues slowing the loco down you might need to adjust the momentum settings in the decoder, I bought a used Hornby M7 that also had the same issue and I just had to change CV 3 and 4 (it might be different on this loco though since you said it has a Bachmann decoder where as my M7 has a Digitrax decoder).
PS: Green Arrow was running on my very first (of many) visits to the Great Central Railway back in the day. It was awesome. Whixh is why I have a soft spot for them.
It blows my very early model Bachmann V2 out of the water. It did run quite well, and then the valve linkage came apart. The connecting rod fell off the back of the crosshead. It is a split chassis loco. This newer version is much better, thank you for the review. Martin. (Thailand) RUclips channel Yorkdale LNER Preservation Railway.
Not going to lie dude, but the new Bachmann V2 Prairie is a pretty good because it has detailed parts and pick-ups in its tender which makes it perform way better than the old V2.
Babe wake up scot just upload a vid (and it’s oo)

Would you be kind as to link me somewhere I could obtain this loco? I actually like the V2 I’m a big fan of Greasley design
Hi there. Rails has a "NRM Exclusive" version on sale for £169. Is that a good price IYO?
That's a lot less than the person who got me this paid for it so if you're in need of a Green Arrow, go for it!
@FlyingScott Thanks for the prompt reply. My two current examples are of the split chassis variety, so I think I'm going to take the leap of faith!
Plastic running board biggest issue on this quite expensive model..
And also the unsightly center crankpin. Come on, it's 2024, we should NOT be able to see flathead screws on the running gear.
