One of the brilliant songs off the Highlander movie soundtrack!! Brian May wrote this inspired by a 20 min clip from the film 🎞️ Queen was asked to write one song but each member of Queen submitted a song for the soundtrack! Freddie (Princes of the Universe) Roger (A Kind of Magic & Don’t Lose Your Head)) John (One Year of Love) Brian (Gimme the Prize). The movie is definitely worth a watch. 🛡️⚔️⚡️
REQUEST: This song is completely different, live. MY FAV performance is: FRIDAY, JULY 11 1986 at Wembley Stadium (There were TWO 1986 Wembley concerts: Friday, July 11 & Saturday, July 12… For this particular song, the FRIDAY performance is THE BEST.)
It's cool that you said this sounds like it should be in a movie. That's very astute, because it was. The movie Highlander is about immortals. In this scene, our hero has to bury his beloved wife, who he has watched grow old while he stayed young. Brian may, the guitarist, wrote this song for the movie and really captured the emotion of the scene. That was Brian who sang the first verse.
WOW! beautiful sweet Freddie! dear Freddie did not live long but on his short time on this earth he really left his mark! there will never be anyone like him!!
I love this song written by Brian May. This is a song that should live forever because it is just that good. This song does belong in a movie because it was written for the Queen soundtrack for the movie Highlander. So you got that right!
Thanks again, Sceez - Brian wrote this for the movie "Highlander" - and he has a beautiful voice.. but when Freddie comes in, it's just astonishing... what a BAND.. right?
It should be an application process to listen to Queen they are so talented. Every band member wrote a hit and plays their instrument or multiple instruments perfectly.
Ultimate Frontman, showman...Queen for sure No1 band. recently voted ahead of the Beatles the greatest UK band of all time in 1999. and in 2005 they were voted after the 1985 live aid concert by fellow musicians the greatest live performance and became the most successful album in UK history beating Abba.
2:15 yes that's our awesome and talented Freddie. He is the legend. Queen is the greatest. Thank you for this reaction. Do a reaction for Freddie's birthday Sept 5. Dragon Attack Milton Keynes and Spread Your Wings official video. Thank you.
“Who Wants to Live Forever” was composed by Brian May and sung on the album version as a duet between himself and Freddie Mercury. When Queen performed the song live, Freddie sang the song alone. The song was written as part of the musical score that Queen wrote for the movie, "Highlander". It serves as somewhat of a “love theme” of Highlander, as it adds to the subplot of the movie. "Highlander" is a 1986 fantasy action-adventure about a 16th Scottish Highland warrior that discovers he is one of a group of warriors who were born immortal, invincible unless beheaded. He is destined to fight other immortals until all but one is dead. The Highlander discovers that because he is immortal he should never fall in love since any woman he loves will eventually grow old and die while he will remain young and alive. Unfortunately, he does fall in love and he stays with her as she grows old. When she is dying in his arms and she says, ‘I never understood why you stayed with me,’ and he says, ‘I see you just the same as I saw you when I first met you’.
Your Comments really stood out for me, a lot of Widsom there...Hope You'll do a Collab of Freddie & Michael J. " There Must be More to Life than This " ❤
I have seen so many reactors watch the same video for this song, and that is a shame. Because they don't get to hear the last line of the song. "Who waits forever anyway?" Or hear the wonderfulness of the end of the song, which goes on for over 30 or 40 more seconds.
Great reaction!! Other Queen Suggestions: - Innuendo (a very deep song) 🙏 - Somebody to love /official video (amazing voices) 🥰 - I want it all (very strong) 💪 - Under pressure - We are the champions - Save me - A kind of magic - You´re my best friend - Its a hard life ¡Saludos, desde Argentina!
And: LIAR, live 1974 at the Rainbow, televised Whire Queen,, live 1975 at the Odeon Hammersmith, televised You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park 1976
Queen: Steroids for the Spirit/Soul. If there’s ever been a more accurate way to describe Queen’s music, I’ve never heard it . There’s so much more Queen to react to, great reactions! Try reacting to “Love Of My Life” live from Wembley Stadium in 1986. You’ll love it.
Love your reaction. You were the first one I ever heard say that everyone shouldn’t be allowed to listen to them. Fabulous. Also if you don’t have love you don’t want to live. Well said.
You really need to see the Highlander series of movies. Immortals among us. Original movies are about 6 movies for Conner McCloud. Then the tv series for his relative Duncan McCloud. Then some movies for Duncan. All have music by Queen.
