I've been riding motorcycles since the early 60's. Got married in the early 70's. My wife has been riding on back with me since the early 90's. We average 15,000 miles a year. My wife has battled different cancers for over ten years. Last year the cancer went to her brain causing her to have seizures. After that, she was afraid if she had a seizure on my Heritage it might cause me to have an accident hurting the both of us and maybe others. So we looked at three wheeled vehicles. We test drove a Goldwing trike and hated it. We test drove a Can Am Spyder and hated it. We finally test drove a Harley Davidson Tri Glide and loved it. Yes, it took a few days to get use to not leaning, but after I got use to it I sold my Heritage. I can really boogie around the curves now. The hardest part for me was NOT putting my feet down at a stop. I've heard you ride a bike and drive a trike, I guess that's true. I believe we are a lot safer on the Tri Glide for many reasons. The seizure thing is one, but grooved pavement now is no problem at any speed. We are a lot safer on wet roads, too. And the tar stripes (I call them tar snakes) are no problem. Even a gravel road is no problem, but I still try to avoid them. And the people in other vehicles can see us easier on the trike. So I believe we are a lot safer on the Tri Glide. I fought the idea of a trike as long as I could, but now that I'm use to it I can't ever see us going back to a two wheeled bike. We are spoiled! Our Tri Glide is a 2020 (teal) and has over 19,000 miles on it already. Now we are looking forward to the next riding season. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.
Wow. Thank you for sharing your story! I never thought the trike could benefit someone in that way, however I definitely see how much easier and safe it is for you guys to ride a trike. Congratulations to you two on putting some miles on the pavement have a safe riding season this summer!
How do you find the handling is in curves? I'm looking at the Freewheeler but pretty much the same thing. I heard if you change the suspension to legend and get a convertible lift it makes a world of difference 🤷
@@macwiller2105 It takes a couple of weeks to get use to because you steer a trike where as on a bike you just lean. It is hard to steer but you get used to it. I lowered my tire pressure to 20lbs. each front and rear tires this makes it even harder to steer but it wears the whole tire now instead of just the middle. My friend tells me a corner better with my trike than I ever did on a two wheeled motorcycle.
With a TG you have to be well aware of your lane position, especially when pulling into the gas station so you don't hit the concrete filled steel pump guards with your rear fender.
@@severinolourenco8943 if Google translate is correct you are asking about the price of the vehicle. I honestly am not sure the exact cost at the end of the video I included a number to the dealership give them a call!
Cornering is different on the trike that is a given, but my wife’s MS is aggravated by the leaning of a standard motor cycle, so the trike allows her to keep her face I. The wind...
I am sure the trike is a great alternative to those who are unable to solely ride on twos. Awesome for her to still be able to ride there definitely is a need for 3 wheel motorcycles!
For steering into those fast turns, grip the throttle with your left hand and the lift grip with your right hand. This will make an "X" pattern with your arms.....JUST KIDDING! For left turns, pull with your left hand and push with your right hand and vice versa for right turns, this makes steering much easier.
Agreed, I'm a new rider & my first ride was/is a Trike , when I first rode my arms killed me trying to do turns etc (HD Trikes are beasts😳) but within a few weeks I had it down pat, once you get the hang of the pull & push when doing corners its so easy..

I have over 60k in my 131 trike. they are not cheap. I am going to have the first 200 mph trike in this area. think about doing a jump over the Harley dealership. (Retired paratrooper) Live to Ride, Ride to Live. Flying ant bad too.

Excellent review. Thank you.
I appreciate the feedback. Just trying to do my best!
I also enjoyed the Dickie Betts guitar work at your intro!
Thanks brotha!
Hang on a second, "Harley Davidson AND technology in the same sentence??? hahahaha
why are the blue and green warning lights flickering on your what I think is your tach, bigger gauge on right and they flickered whole time you rode
It could just be the way the GoPro picks up the lighting on the dash but they are solid.

I didn't even think about that. Going up a slant is also a strange feeling too!
I've got the 2020 in River Rock Grey & Vivid Black, and LOVE IT! It's Disneyland without the lines!
I just saw the 2021 model and it looks beautiful. They have one in currently at Rock City HD

BRAKE PROBLEMS PEOPLE HAVE DIED !
They add 1 more wheel and $20,000 to the price tag.... no wonder the quality is shit and Hd is failing
Hate much Fred?
The price of HD bikes is insane coming from a sportbike rider. Our bike cost like 5k and that will get u a nice one.
I've read it is a tough market for the newer generation. Im a sportbike rider so I can not speak much on the sales side.
As a long time Harley owner my opinion is that all trikes are boring and dangerous, Harley's are all that AND way overpriced.
