- This is tunnel #2 from the old Bristol Port Railway and Pier (BPRP).It is 175 yards long.It was opened in 1865 and closed in 1922 to construct the A4.It was used during the Second World War as an air-raid shelter by the people of Bristol. It became so popular that the City Council had to institute a pass system. The tunnel was once again used in the late twentieth century by the Bristol Gun Club, who converted a portion of it into a firing range. However, this ended following the passage of the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997 which banned handguns in the United Kingdom, and the tunnel was once more abandoned. It is currently split in three parts - the firing range, a section of original tunnel, and the shelter.

Fabulous!!
I was a member of the gun club for many years and used the range at least twice a week for several years, thanks for the memories.
thats been used as a canabis grow at one point with the water pipes coming down the wall
That looks like an old Helter Skelter rave scene, blimey. Far drier than the last tunnel, thankfully.
Quality, would like to check it out myself being half hour from Brizz
That tunnel was creepy. Do u know does it get used for anything now ?
No it’s been empty for years.Looks like they have the odd rave there lol.
I'd love to go and have a look in there. Not on my own though
Some people use old railway tunnels as storage if they got anything to store. I wouldn't mind having one because I've got a lot of stuff to store...
Wow must be a lot! Anything interesting?🧐
@@Mikes666 only a few little things maybe big stuff.
