Thank you, this was very helpful. I was searching for a video explaining how to wear it and most of the videos didn’t give me something that I worked on my hair. Btw, this works for all hair types because I have wavy/straight hair and I used this technique and it worked. May God bless you. Amen 🙏 ❤
Thank you for this video. I was unsure on how to do it, and was doing it front to back. I have alopecia, slightly wavy and fairly long hair. I just moved and my new apartment has a much lower humidity than my old one. I started waking up with a lot of tangles on the side I had slept on. Trying to get them out every morning was a pain, but also made me lose more hair no matter how gentle I was being. My hair looked dull, brittle and dry so it was time for a completely different hair routine. I did some searching online and decided to buy a satin bonnet, satin scrunchie, satin pillow case, leave in conditioner, hair oil, etc. Those products would have made my hair look greasy and weigh it down when I was living in high humidity. Now it takes my hair from looking like straw to looking silky and healthy.
Much respect to you for not giving up on your hair! Thank you for watching the video. Do you make videos? I'm sure there are people who would love to learn from you
@sampeters5101 Thank you so much ❤. My hair loss isn't so bad I would "need" a full wig, but I do have a topper (a hair piece that covers the top of your head) that I love and that has the same texture and cut I used to have. It was custom made for me so I need to keep my hair healthy for it to blend seamlessly with the hair piece. I don't make videos, if I did it would probably be about alternative fashion. Regarding the topic of hair loss I think I don't have anything to add to what's already on RUclips. I did once give up on my hair. This was in 2015, I had hair pain and the medication that was supposed to treat my hair loss wasn't working. I cut my hair shorter and shorter within the span of a month, until I finally had relief from hair pain when I had a short undercut. I've switched medication twice since then and it's finally working. That and the hair piece really gave me my life back.
I just recently started wearing a bonnet and it looks like I've been doing it wrong this whole time because I did it from the front! Unfortunately the first night, I woke up with it knot on my head so I had to tie the Bonnet in the ponytail on the back of my head. I pretty much have the same hair type but maybe with slightly loser curls but not much. Sometimes I am able to get the same exact curls that are tighter than usual and sometimes it's more loose. But most of the time it stays in the middle which I described it as 3B. All hair is beautiful hair but sometimes I have trouble taking care of it because it Tangles and gets dry very easily. I have to wash it at least 3 times because the first time it doesn't go through my scalp because my hair and scalp get so dry and then I wash it again the second time and I usually use the Selsun Blue shampoo on my scalp because I tend to get dandruff and then I use Carol's Daughter shampoo once and then now I started putting a mask on my hair. I wash my hair once a week because I can get away with it unlike many women I know that have to wash their hair every single day or nearly every other day or else it gets oily. My dandruff has been under control since I started using selsum blue. But now recently, I've been trying to wear a bonnet which I really do feel it helps with my hair a bit more versus just sleeping on polyester pillow cases and cotton pillow cases and I don't really like Silk because it's slippery! So I find out wearing a bonnet is the best solution! Thank you for educating me on how to wear a bonnet too bed as another curly haired girl to another! I went to Walmart and bought one and it is beautiful it's white with flowers and I find it to be a bit too big for my head but I just tie it behind my back and I'll definitely try tilting my head back and then going from the back of my neck to my head to put the Bonnet on from here on out!
I'm 33 and just started doing this. My hair over the years has become more abd more curly and it can't be just slept on... I've woken up with the best hair when I slept with a face mask and it slipped up on me and I'm like well dam bonnet time.
You can get them with adjustable elastics and ties to help prevent that. I have one with an elastic that's got a slide on it. Just pull it as snug as I want and it stays put.
Thanks for this vid! Are bonnets supposed to be snug? I have shoulder length hair and I put my hair into a pineapple bun when I put my bonnet on, yet I have wiggle room in my bonnet. Is that okay?
You're welcome :) I prefer a little wiggle room for two reasons. 1, i don't get that my head is being squeezed feeling and 2, my hair doesn't mold to the shape of the bonnet so its not too difficult to shake out the following day. But whatever feels best for you and makes you comfy.
Hi GypsyRose! Sorry for not getting back to you. You can definitely put the bonnet on if your hair is a little damp. Caution though, it will dry in the position it is in. So if a section of the bonnet is pressing your hair down, it will dry that way and nothing short of re-wetting it will get it to change shape.

Thank you. This really helped, I just started doing this when I realized I rub my head on the pillows when I sleep and have bad dreams.
Oh no, dreams can really mess up a good night's sleep😫 how are you doing now?

Bonnets are the business. And the ones with the wide band are so comfy
How do you get it to stay on overnight? I wake up and mine has slipped completely off!
I would probably get one where it has ribbons that you can wrap around your head and tie. That’s what I do
Mine slides down over my face
Bobby pins work for me😊
You can get them with adjustable elastics and ties to help prevent that. I have one with an elastic that's got a slide on it. Just pull it as snug as I want and it stays put.
I got a bonnet that ties. It's more secure

When i do this my hair sticks up, it never falls like yours does :( not sure if it’s just my hair not being soft enough or i’m doing something wrong
