    Good job on the videos mate. I can attest the calls work. I i was out on a quick afternoon hunt waiting on my call to come in the mail. Had a spiker stomp me several times without running by just playing your first video where you called up the hind to your car. Brilliant little pieces of gear.

    G'day Paul. Great informative channel and footage. I brought one of those Sambar callers from you a while back and have used it many times always putting it in my pocket while out hunting. So far I have had no deer honk at me even after seeing deer while calling. I was determined to see it work though. After watching this video I decided on today's hunt to put my caller on a lanyard around my neck also as I saw here. That was a mistake. The ring on the caller which I connected to my lanyard unclipped at some point sitting behind my bino harness. The ring was still on my lanyard minus the caller. I was shocked when I noticed it couldn't believe it. Retraced my steps to locate it in the gullys I walked today but no luck. Just thought you and others who own one should not trust the ring to tie off too that they should know this. Cheers.

      Thanks Mate we have since changed the type of ring on the call making it a lot harder to lose

    Used my caller for only the second time today and it failed. Seems like the vibrating bit somehow broke and/ or fell out. Very disappointing.

    Sambar call is similar to North American cow elk. Cow calls work on both sexes.

    Hey Paul, how have you gone with the callers on mature stags? I’ve tested them on does and have got them to stop and come fwd a bit. But interested to know how they will go on a stag. Enjoying the videos👍

    • @PaulBoagsOutdoors
      @PaulBoagsOutdoors  3 года назад +2

      I haven’t tried it on to many mature stags yet they are never the easiest to find and I think it will work it’s best on them when they are in rutt. I did have a nice 26 inch stag bedded in some thick tea trees so I used the call and he got up and walk out to the edge and stood there looking in my direction for 5 minutes. Giving me a great look at him.

    I was out in state forest putting some rounds down at a target a couple of weeks ago with my .22 cal and a samba starts honking me relentlessly
    I mean I shot 40 rounds at my paper target and this deer did not like it one bit. It was an experience I tell you.

    • @PaulBoagsOutdoors
      @PaulBoagsOutdoors  3 года назад +2

      You where probably to close to where she left her fawn and she wanted you to leave. The honking was trying to get you to come look for her just like a mother duck pretending it has a broken wing to distract a predator from her young

    Just when I was about to throw mine in the bin. I was surprised. Finally had a deer come to the caller. I was sitting in a gully when I gave the whistle 3 blows. Within 5min of waiting. I thought no point. As soon as I got up and turn around I was put back on my ass. Yes I slipped on my stomach due to fright. I had a sambar 5 minutes looking at me. Yes. WTF. It was shocked just like me. Ran past me. Not away. Then stopped within 50 minutes and looked at me and walked away. I had plenty of time to pull that trigger but thought you are lucky one today. Its still out there for someone else. Good luck.

    Nice vid. Have you checked out safari slings ? I got one recently and it’s the best thing I’ve ever got, gun stays at the ready constantly. Only problem I can see with it is that the gun is pointing forwards and when they spin around it can be a hazard if you’re with a clients. But for the solo hunter it’s unreal

    • @PaulBoagsOutdoors

      Yeah they are good if your on your own not so much if you have a someone with you.

      @@mitchimal Not sure to be honest they spook very easily and it doesn't make a sound anything like a fallow so probably a bit of both.
      It works on reds and hoggies as well as it does on sambar.

    Is this pretty much the same as an cow elk caller? I went to buy the twin pack for $29 and I got to PayPal it was $42 and it sent me through to flexmark in the U.S. and on that page it had the same callers with elk diagrams on them instead of sambar

    • @PaulBoagsOutdoors
      @PaulBoagsOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      It’s similar to the Elk Cow call but not the same the Elk call is longer and had a higher pitch. You can order the sambar call from hear in Australia from www.paulboagsoutdoors.com/

    • @monicaboag3272
      @monicaboag3272 3 года назад

      Its because the $29 is US dollars and you may get a charged from your bank for international bank fees pending your bank.
