Had a musky on the line once as a kid. I remember clearly my dad and grandpa holding me in the boat lol. Didn’t take long for the line to snap. One of my best childhood fishing memories. Would love to actually catch one. Great video guys!
+That Fishing Guy Hopefully you have a chance this season. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Great memory .. Thanks 🤘🏼
Go catch one man!
Short, simple, and to the point........ pretty good. Great info!
+Rod Conner Thank you for watching. Good luck fishing.
Thanks for this info. I been trying since 2006 with no luck.. Very informative, and advisive. Thanks fellas!
Thanks for watching. I hope that changes soon. Good luck
Great video. I totally agree with the confidence tip. I like rubber swim baits, so I have the most confidence in them, which has translated into swim baits being my most effective.
+ryanvanvossen Thank you for watching our videos and your comment. Confidence is king. Good luck this season.
Looks like a nice spot on that shoreline right behind you guys
I've caught more musky by accident while bass fishing than I have when I specifically target musky...
+Doug Kichman That certainly can and will happen with these crazy fish. There are times when a smaller bass sized presentation is just the ticket. Hopefully you catch a few this year on musky gear. Good luck fishing.
Would be nice. I try to target the same general areas where I catch them by accident, but that doesn't seem to help. Last year I caught 23 by accident and 4 intentionally. Biggest one being 38" on a 1/4 oz swim jig.
@@xDx0xUxGx yep. They are caught all the time on the Detroit River by walleye fisherman jigging.
@Gideon Kamden go away
That’s how Jeremy wade caught his first after over 10,000 casts with a Muskie rig. Several friends got their biggest ones on small bait. That makes me wonder if they see the heavy line and leader.
Thanks for sharing!
I don’t know why but this was extremely motivational
Thank you for watching. Good Luck fishing this year.
those are all great ideas!
+Kayak Musky Central Thank you for watching
For all your musky fishing needs I highly recommend checking out the Rhino Outdoors website. Great lures for a great price and have always came with a hand writing thank you
Thank you for shopping with us. Good luck fishing
I've been going after the tiger muskies here in nm haven't got one yet but I'm determined too
if you want to get into it with low investment. use your frogging caster with buchertail. it's pretty good start. I've caught musky on #2 mepps on a med-light rod. you don't need to have a bunch money sunk into gear.
Thank you for tips. I love musky fishing but have struggled the past few years to find them. Any tips for lakes with a lot of boating traffic in summer?
Look for spots off the beaten path and even open water can hold fish if the traffic allows. If it's just pleasure boat traffic then fish spots like normal. Musky anglers are far more bothered about boat traffic than the fish are. Once I caught a musky trolling open water with the bait running only about 5' down. A jet ski had run almost right over the top of it shortly before it got hit. Good luck fishing
A friend of mine who no longer with us byt he told me most married people break up over musky fishing !!!!!!!!!!!
The dudes musky tattoo on his forearm really lets me know that he is a serious musky fisher! I'm going to listen to everything he has to say!
Your comment made me stop watching this video haha that tattoo is cringy
I’ve never caught a Muskie I found a spot where Muskie where caught and it has weeds but after 2 seconds of reeling in my bait gets on weeds so I use a spinner instead of a big jerbait is that right ?
Try using a jerk bait that doesn’t sink much, a safety pin type spinner that doesn’t have treble hooks or a top water bait. Good luck
Do you have any recommendations for beginner musky rod and reel setup for casting? I was thinking about a st. Crioux mojo musky rod 8’6 heavy paired with a Tranx or REVO toro reel
+Machinegunkuzzy 16 I would say the St Croix and either reel would be a great setup. I personally like the Tranx 400 better than the Revo. Both are good options though. Good luck fishing
@@TeamRhinoOutdoors what lb test? 60 80?
I fish for musky with my medium action bait caster with 10lb line and a titanium leader lol
NICE
Thank you Dan.
First cast first time I had one on. Sadly the hook didn’t set hours later not a bite
That will unfortunately happen when chasing musky. Hope you keep at it and put some in the net this year. Good Luck fishing
Will a 8ft pole fit in regular sized car (through the window) or is there a better setup for a car?
+AcousticSoul1989 I would think that it would especially if the seats fold down in the back to access the trunk. Your other option would be to get a telescopic rod but I think that only gets you down to 7’ 6” I believe. Thanks for the question let us know if you have others.
My 8ft rod fit in my 2001 Chevy impala. It was front seat to back but it fit.
lost 3 muskies in the last 2 fishing sessions.. needless to say it was brutal but this video gives me hope !
At least you've had action from 3 musky. Things will turn around. Good Luck Fishing
Do you need to use a leader?
Yes always. Different leaders for different baits. We have a video on this channel that covers that as well. Thanks for watching and Good Luck Fishing
Where can I buy a Team Rhino Outdoors hat?
+steelshooter414 you can find them at www.teamrhinooutdoors.com along with the rest of our gear and custom colored musky baits.
Bass spinner baits are a great bait aswell
Smaller baits can get eaten for sure. You just need to make sure the hardware will hold up to big fish. Good luck
Watched again and is fine. Must of been something with internet.
+Clarence Cremeans I'm glad it worked fine. Thank you for the update
Got to be Musky nuts!!! 30 hrs casting this year with only 3 follows.. No strikes!!! Love to hate em" great video, great info... #justkeepcasting --- 715 Central Wisconsin 715 ---
It's been a bit of a struggle for us also. Hopefully things turn for the better soon. Good luck and thank you for watching this video.
Im just starting musky fishing here in wisconsin at lake wingra! Has the most musky out of any other lake in Wisconsin
I live in Musky central and just started fishing for them last year. No action on casting, just suckers ( but never landed one ! ). I spent many many hours casting last year and this year with no results.. then last weekend I caught two and my wife also caught two in a matter of about 45 minutes.. Just keep at it
What do they taste like?
Just like catfish
Mostly Chicken lol..
My Uncle always said that it took 1000 casts to get one Muskie
Sound is not matching video. But good job!
Clarence Cremeans that's odd. It matches on our end. Thank You for watching
It messes up in the middle section.
+Clarence Cremeans I wonder if it is a one time issue. I watched the whole thing again to check and had no issues. Thank you for bringing it to our attention I'll keep checking it.
I’m in middle school and my goal is to catch a 50” Muskie
I hope you reach that goal. Good luck fishing
Im just starting
Good luck with the chase. Hope you find some of our videos helpful.
You call musky the fish of 10,000 casts, I call them the fish of $10,000.
You aren't that far off lol
You meet a ton of great people …. In my area most of the regular fisherman are great. But for some reason all the musky only guys are assholes and think they own the water .
