Been going to the dunes since 1986 have had 1000 hp sand cars, VW sand rails, Side by sides, quads. The most fun was motocross bike with a paddle tire suspension on a modern MX bike is amazing really can't compare it to the ladder.
Heck yeah!! Love my Busa powered rail! Mine is a single seat with loads of suspension. Spot on with the 4th gear duning! I have 14/70 tooth sprockets with 30" paddles.
Thanks for posting. I have had my Tom Pro Hayabusa buggy since 2007. I cannot imagine and to NOT what a bigger buggy. My Hayabusa is turboed but mainly stock.
Watched this whole series in order. I have a had a lifelong dream to own a 2 seater busa buggy with long travel. I want wheelies on command power. Grew up going out to Waynoka OK state park on the dunes. Had a stretched drag Banshee on alky throughout high school. Sold it out of stupidity long ago. Hopefully soon I can get back out on the dunes in something very similar to your setup, looked like an absolute blast! Wish I could find a similar setup for around $7500 around here.
Looking really sweet there Brandon. No lack of power at all. I agree, your rear suspension needs some tweaking. Show this video to Carl over at ADS. He will know what to do. Very Cool Brandon, very cool.
This would be cool for like a gokart but you need something with more power on a Sandrail. If your not doing wheelies through every gear then you need more power.
Thanks Man! Yea a turbo would be super fast! I really liked mine even without the turbo. it has lots of low end power so you can chug along in 4th gear when you are not pushing it.
Hey Brandon, Just watched the sand bullet series for the 2nd time. Good stuff. I'm hoping to get one myself sometime soon. What's going on with it? Still have it? I NEED MORE!! HA HA. Oh yeah... what are the dimensions of the rail and the trailer you brought it home in? My cargo trailer is only 6" wide inside... I might need to upgrade to fit a sand rail.
Wow, thanks for the awesome comments. I wish i could provide more content like this, but im on hold due to some family issues..... Once I get through some stuff I will be able to get back at it.
Hello just ran across you vid I have the same rear sprocket but have not bought one in 10 years LOL and the guy I used to buy from is no longer around Can you tell me were to buy one from Thank you
Take a link or two out of the chain and use a pulling spring to pull on the chain rather than push on it with a fixed bolt. Also those motors generally like to rev higher because that is where the power band is at, let it breath a little more and it'll be happier.
Buggys are way lighter than rzrs, the whole reason people make their own cars is so that they can have a feeling of accomplishment, instead of dropping +30k and rolling over, he bought his buggy for 7.5k if I'm not wrong, and yet he still has more horsepower than a 2018+ model rzr.
Are you planning on being out at glamis for Thanksgiving, if you are I'd like to check out your car. I have a short sand car with a turbo busa with a jeffco differential and turn brakes. It dino a little more than 300 horsepower
I saw that you’re building a buggy I wanted to ask if you have the blue print/measurements since I want to start working on building buggies I’m willing to pay
Excellent series, awesome buggy!
These videoz never get old. Satisfies the throttle therapy sounds every time lol.
hahaha thanks buddy!!!
I love this! Proof that you don't need a 1000hp twin turbo LS to get out there and have fun!
Thats right!!!! This cheap little buggy is awesome! Thanks for the comment!
@@BrandonNapier How cheap to get into one? I use to have a '02 Busa motorcycle all tricked out..
I have gotten 12 years of use from a cbr1100xx in an ever evolving sandcar. And my truck burns 7 gallons round trip to the dunes.
Dude you have to get a garret gtx2860r installed on this buggy.. you'll be blown away!!

Would love to see more!
Thanks! more videos will be coming.... someday.... Life always getting in the way.
My spool actually slides for and aft for chain adjustment. Works great and never had issues with it.
Great idea!

So awesome! the single seaters are so cool!

Thats awesome! Yes these little buggies are so much fun!
Thats awesome just lovin it out there! Thing is legit.👍🏻
You got that right!
Love the bussa rail. We have one in our fleet as well. and it sure does make those rzrs look silly. hell ya brother!
hahahaha right on!
Dude I can barely change my oil and spark plugs !! U the man
hahahah. thanks brother!!! it takes time to learn all this stuff, every project i pick up a few more skills and tools. Keep at it!!!!
We live out in Utah so we typically ride at Little Sahara and St Anthony
Cool! I would love to get out these sometime.

Good luck man! it took me a while of shopping around before I found this one.

boostedboiz razzledazzle
mookie wilson yup
mookie wilson look up SXS blogs RUclips channel. They put a 700hp plus 2JZ in a Polaris RZR
Yea a turbo would probably get those wheels up pretty good. I was able to do baby wheelies over rollers, but thats it.
@@BrandonNapier still a sweet build! Probably real fun to just whip around. but I just like more power baby
Very cool
Hey thanks man! Its been a fun project. make sure you watch the rest of the series... and subscribe ;)
Hey, what drive chain did you use for your buggy. How often do you change your chain out. Do the chains fail often?
Pretty bad ass, I want to buy a rail frame and put my turbo bussa motor in it
Thanks Man! Yea a turbo would be super fast! I really liked mine even without the turbo. it has lots of low end power so you can chug along in 4th gear when you are not pushing it.
Is there goona be more busa rail content?
not unless i buy another.... sorry but this one got sold. What parts of this series did you like the best? Building and tinkering or the riding?

The only place I know is from Tom pro on ebay
This is why I love living in Yuma, 30 minutes away from the dunes lol
We lived in phoenix az for 14 years moving back home soon hopefully we can bring the buggy home with us
Lucky!!!!!

Well atleast she ran up test hill like a champ.
Yea she is pretty good. As I got more comfortable with reving out the engine I got even faster with it!
How tall are you? Curious if I would fit in one of these
Im 5'11". Plenty of room for me.
@@BrandonNapier Cool!
what psi do you put in the tires?
I run around 5 pis in the rear.... i cant remember what i ran in the front... i think it was around 10.
It’s a little bit over paddled. street bike engines love to scream maybe a baby turbo 🤔
I turbo would be SWEET!
What part of Arizona we lived in phoenix az 14 years how does the buggy do vs rzr's
Im in Tucson. The buggy is way quicker than a RZR, but the RZR has such good suspension that I cant keep up through woops.
You are correct! The biggest difference is the RZR has really good suspension, but the Hayabusa is WAY more fun to drive!
Are you planning on being out at glamis for Thanksgiving, if you are I'd like to check out your car. I have a short sand car with a turbo busa with a jeffco differential and turn brakes. It dino a little more than 300 horsepower

Sorry i dont have the plans... good luck with your project.
how much did it cost ?
I think i paid $7500, then probably put another $1k into it total.
Cant be at a good dune trip
Absolutely
Fast
thanks! yea its pretty quick and tons of fun!
Seems a bit underpowered imo
Yeah it’s definitely over paddled, and a turbo would help a lot, those street bike engines love to scream
Keep in mind this was my first few trips with the buggy. I was only reving it to about 4-5K because I was still getting used to the machine.
