When the music turns into something you'd hear in F-Zero GX, you know the game is done giving you mercy.
@@BronquanacorAgreed
I'm going to guess you specifically mentioned F-Zero GX because of Hidenori Shoji having worked on most of the music for both games.
Funny you should mention GX, both games use the same engine.
@@HobkinBoi Given that Amusement Vision had a hand in GX/AX development....
101supertails both games are amazing - Monkey Ball and F-Zero GX.
funny how you expect this to be such an easy, silly game, and then it hits you with the most hellish levels imaginable. The only thing saving you from insanity is the music.
I say the same thing you said. This game puts you in a situation that you don't know what to do just barely saying HELP ME PLEASE, THIS LEVEL IS WAY MORE DIFFICULT THAN THE LAST ONE!
I agree. This has to be one of the most unrelenting games I have ever played.
Hehehe exam c
Hehehe what about the master stages? That area's music wants to put you to sleep at the worst possible time.
@@JoSephGD ... THE MASTER STAGES HAVE THE BEST MUSIC IN THE GAME! Alright I'm done with that rant. The music it very up beat to me and it keeps me going
Seriously... Why is the HARDEST song in Monkey. This is so unbelievably intense for a cute game about adorable monkeys rolling to the goal.
Ha ha, that cute game eventually bends you over and screws you up the backside with a cast iron phallic object. This music is quite fitting for when that happens. XD
It's metallic. The taste of shame.
"Oh, made it this far? Enjoying yourself?
Welcome to Hell."
Birdie Hall "Welcome to the easiest world in mid-game"
I like how this song basically is telling you “this is it, you are at the home stretch, those extra stages are just minutes away, you can do this, come on, let’s go!”
Nah it's more like "It's the final challenge. You're not gonna make it out alive of this one"
When you hear this, you realize the game isn't happy fun times anymore...
A game about monkeys... yee!
Carpet 😟
Lol the happy fun time was gone even before this music started playing! XD
when was it ever happy fun time in the expert stages?
You already know it’s messed up at A30
Probably the greatest moment of my gaming career was making it past this level for the first time.
Without continuing.
It's a pretty good feeling, yeah. The Extras after the SMB1 stages were a mindblow after making it past this.
Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how tough are ya?
I beat SMB Storm.
So?
On Expert without continuing.
Right this way, sir.
Uhh storm is literally _only_ in expert
I've made it through expert without a continue, but still haven't gotten to master
Making it here for the first time was a great achievement.
I wonder how getting here without using a continue feels.
Not too much different. Not until you get to master where it's just Kreygasm . Speaking from personal experience.
+thebrawler56 I would love to get rolling into Master.
Just not Master 3... Or 9... Or 8...
You know what? Never mind.
Took me an hour alone of trying to beat Master 3.
Everything else was a relative cakewalk.
I did scream when I got to the masters 🤘
Expert 45 was f****** torture.
Trust me it is when I 1st got to the stage it literally made me smash my game case to bits.
But now I can easily pass it.
Here's how: when you get to the 2nd rotating platforms you're supposed to back up and gain speed and tilt to the left or right but sometimes it's still not enough to make it across.
This sounds like a mid-2000s newgrounds song and it's so amazing
This is from 2001, because we're in early 2000s.
What an awesome era of music. Both SMB OSTs have the same style of trance / electro.
I get sonic heroes vibes and i don’t get why regardless this song is 🔥
Finally, a high quality version of this song with the intro. Thanks, to you and Kydrion1.
Sounds like something from early Yakuza 1-3 games.
And considering both Hidenori Shoji and Nagoshi worked on both Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza, fitting.
And how Nagoshi made and killed Monkey Ball
I mean it’s sega, so these mf’s know what they need to cook to make you feel it like a sort of POV
I made it here after using all of my continues and had only one life left.
You can imagine how pissed I was after dying on 41...
Thats a big oh no
This has to be one of the greatest video game tracks in my opinion. I cannot stop listening to it.
Edit: I take it back, this IS the greatest video game track in my opinion. I got 300 hours off the Banana Mania Classic Soundtrack on Apple Music, triple my #2 album.
what is the #1?
@@MrDOverLord This, I said that.
@@wavyplaysgames he meant what’s your #1 album

For those who say the Super Monkey Ball series has gotten softer over the years, they obviously haven't played Banana Splitz for the PS Vita. It's incarnation of expert (called Advanced) is INSANE! The easiest floors in this marathon are few and far between, and can still kill you if you aren't careful, and it's toughest floors have a difficulty comparable to late-Expert SMB2's stages. And to unlock unlimited continues, you have to beat this nightmare at least once with 30 lives MAXIMUM (it may sound like a lot of lives, but believe me, they'll get drained quickly on your first playthrough).
I would... but I don't have a Vita.
But what about Mesh Mosh? Or Ultra Heaven? Or Siliconia? Those are all sadistic gauntlets of floors (notably 10-5, Wormhole Slope, Snakey Solid, and Palpitations) that make me want to annihalate my Wii Remote/DS...
@@sendhelpidfk mesh mosh isnt that bad but siliconia without a balance board is hell on earth and ultra heaven is heaven become hell
Tbh monkey ball 2 was easier than the original super monkey ball
Pixel Obviously, but it also comes with the factor that you can buy up to 99 lives.
Cant wait to bop to this on Switch!
Sry, gotta pay extra
@@BigBoy257 This one's better than the remix.
5 dollars ain't that bad
@@uchennaerechukwu255 The classic music is available in the remaster as well!
Holy crap this is so epic. When you finally get here, see the black pit beneath you, the rain falling above you, the braziers and statues of a gladiator arena, and hear that intense guitar, you know that you're awesome to have gotten here. Love this game
I'd probably have an easier time clearing Expert without using a continue in SMB1 if it wasn't for EXAM-C!
Exam-C gave me more trouble (and still does) than some of the last Expert levels.
And it's Level 7...
cannot agree more
They should've placed it in the 20s or 30s, honestly. It's Expert Mode, sure, but that one level risks so many continues.
Nivek150
Would've been more appropriate, but it probably wasn't insane enough for Master.
+Justin M. (AuraWielder) Exam-C, Tracks and freakin Curvature were my kryptonite in SMBDX. It's that moment when you realize the storm levels were actually easier than most of the SMB1 Expert stages XD
Every level in expert are pretty easy, it's just that they're not easy enough for one to be perfect at them. It's a pain getting through expert with no continue as you only have three lives.
*Game*: Okay Wise guy, you managed to make it all the way to the final world, and I see you still have 5 continues. I admire you, you have worked so hard to reach Banana Sanctuary. Would be shame if you lost a continue here, in the temple of Storm, where the tears of every player's failures rains down onto you. However, I shall give you a fair chance, pass these last 10 stages, and I will let you preceded to Extra.
0:00
This was intense. I like this.
Or be me who lost a continue at 32 then aced storm somehow
still haven’t gotten to master yet
Me: Let's rock!
"...where the tears of every player's failures rains down onto you." - That is so true. A lot of frustration in this series of levels. xD
Somehow I lost a continue on EX 13 and not Storm. (I deadass have no idea how this is fucking possible.
I still feel like Exam-C should’ve been a storm stage, After that dreaded stage the skills I learned from it basically trivialized the game, making the inevitable storm stages actually feel really easy as a result sadly, whatever i’m still happy with this game’s result lol
I'm stuck in that level :'(
@@abztrackt Haha! I was stuck on it for like a week! you’ll get a hang of it eventually! :)
Yeah, I would also want that stage to be a storm stage more but I *slightly* like the original decision because it would really suck to lose all of your continues right before the end.
yeah, Expert 7 and 47 should have just been flip-flopped. Expert 47 is one of the easiest stages in expert mode.
"Storm"
Composer/Arranger: Hidenori Shoji
Guitars: Hidenori Shoji
The fact that Banana mania is recreating these stages with the option to leave jumping off and toggle the classic soundtracks(Including this) this is gonna throw me back❤❤❤
Too bad the controls are not as precise as the originals... (although using a GameCube controller still greatly helps)
@@banjoboi24 Controls are fine if you tweak them to your liking!
@@CryoDrago not on console, this is only possible on PC, i believe
HEAVEN OR HELL? DUEL 1! LET'S ROCK!
The moment when a game about monkeys inside of plastic balls trying to get bananas has music that is intense and levels that make you want to murder your Gamecube.
For the last 10 levels in Expert, this section feels easier than the other decades in Expert.
Fun fact: Super Monkey Ball Jr's master stage music is based off of this. Another fun fact about the master stages: In SMB 1, the theme of the master stages is heavenlike. In SMB Jr. the theme of the master stages is hellish (fire everywhere).
Yep. And for Storm, that music is based off of... the music that plays for Beginner 6-10.
Three words to describe this: Rest in peace
Can’t believe it, playing Monkey Ball of all things and this killer beat drops!
That intro gives me goosebumps every single time.
Damnit SEGA, why are your songs so lit?
this is the most SMT sounding song outside of the series lol
Another Ball retired.
Funny given that SEGA owns both Super Monkey Ball and SMT. XD
This piece + Tempest (Oil Rig) stage from Tekken Tag Tournament 2 = Holy mother of pony
This song always makes me think of bulldogs and hard rain.
*Trying to take my time on Expert 43*
Announcer: "Hurry Up! 9, 8, 7, 6..."
Aiai: "Wooo, Wooo, ahh, wah, ooohhh WHAAAAA!"
Announcer: Continue?
Me: *Shut the GameCube off*
When that guitar kicks in, this game isn’t holding back anymore and neither should you
This would sound great as a GaMetal cover!
Feels weird without the wind & rain sounds.
This music bops so hard. I remember getting here the first time as a 10 year old and it was so freaking epic. Of course lost my last few lifes on Carpet, but it was a fun time nevertheless! :D
I love this track. Fitting for a Greek-inspired temple that is the backdrop for the final Expert levels, since the theme is probably the struggle of clearing all the Expert levels without a continue.
Only one question though: After the hell that is Expert levels 7, 17, 21, 27, 32, and 45, then why is Expert 50 pathetically easy?!
ColaGuy33 well... air hockey, charge, puzzle, giant swing, free throw, centrifugal, passage and striker are easy
Seems as though the last one is purely based on intimidation factor. Lots of moving parts, limited time, and first exposure... that, and if you don't know how to gauge the shortest distance on platforms, you're screwed no matter what. If not, then it's, as you put it, pathetically easy.
Air Hockey, on the other hand, is nothing short of Mario-Party-class, luck-based bullcrap that infuriates me beyond measure. If you have a strategy for guaranteeing a victory on that stage at least 9/10 times, you automatically have my respect as a SMB player.
I feel its just there to be like "alright, final challenge" and to be cool looking. Like Jonathan said, its mostly going off of intimidation factor.
Lies!! 50 was not that easy especially when you first played this level!!
I listened to this song with my ear phones at full blast and now I'm deaf
Then set the volumes to minimum because you're deaf, making your computer have audio is wasting a little power.
hi
George Molloy bump
??
???
LET THERE BE ROCK! I JUST LOVE THIS MUSIC!
In fact, I like the area in general, it looks cool, even if you can't explain the statues in the background.
What the heck are those statues of anyway?
Why couldn't Strom have been Master?
The closest it's gotten to that was the storm music used for master in Jr.(GBA), and it wasn't as great then.
Storm: "Mercy? What is the meaning of such a word?"
You've got boost power!
This should have been the final stage in expert mode of SMB Deluxe
The Space Colony is cool but this is way more fitting for the final levels
why did monkey ball ost go so hard even tho it's a game about silly monkeys
When the Emergency Alert System tells you of a tornado warning:
This rocks the fuck out for no reason. I love it.
Expert 45 ruined my runs so freaking often, more often than I'd like to admit.
41 Punched Bowl, 42 Checker, 43 Carpet, 44 Ridge, 45 Mixer, 46 Rings, 47 Stairs, 48 Clover, 49 Coffee Cup, 50 Metamorphosis.
this sounds like a softer version of something from the DMC ost
I find it funny that a game about rolling around a monkey in a ball has a more extreme track than the theme of the dragon of dojima
World awesome OST heart pounding.
Who's here in 2019?
-Fun Fact, the flames in the background of this stage are essentially a 2D texture, they're very poorly animated.
Haha, I just looked at them in dolphin emulator with the free camera and you're right, pretty damn funny.
So, fun fact, the only Super Monkey Ball I played was the Gameboy version (Super Monkey Ball Jr.) And that game uses this track for Master mode, the one with all of the lava and hell fire for the background.
This soundtrack is in the Banana Mania, and when I saw storms instead of lava when I first heard it again, in higher quality than ever before, I shit my pants
you know shit just got real when the doom music starts playing
What's with the statues in the background of this world?
Maybe its the statues of past champions who beat the game without loosing a continue.
ChristmeProductions haha, could be
and i'm definitely not one of them...i'm lucky if i can even get past expert using ten continues.
+Ryan Jason haha, I feel you, bro. This game is punishing
I've always wondered the same thing. On one hand, having context for this world would be awesome, but it kinda detracts from the sense of wonder that's kept me coming back to the game for over a decade and a half now.
in the GBA version of super monkey ball 1, this is the theme for the master levels, and frankly, that makes 100% sense
Pressure is on when you know you can’t use a continue to reach the extras and master
The cube at the end though... 0_0
the game just went full blown
*i have had mercy on you panda, but no longer*
This is like a mix of queens of the stone age and metallica.
Malek McFetridge qotsa? Maaaaybe. Metallica? Nope.
This was brought back as the boss theme of monkey shot
When I'm In a physically dark and or horrible place, I play this
I'm aiming to play through Expert Mode after unlocking a shitload of continues, then get as far as I can and spend a long time practicing what I've unlocked at that point, rinse and repeat until I can get to Expert Extra at the very least.
Thisgame is metaphor for life
My achievements from that game were too hard to pull off. I mean, the entire game was a puzzle of mind, with big challenges and more missions to fulfill if you want to pass the next level. It got me very exhausted and took me like 4 moths to finish it for once.
I think this song would fit storm chasing!
Or a Splatoon kill montage.
This is pretty dope..
I get sonic heroes vibes and i don’t get why regardless this song is 🔥
The song you hear in your nightmares.
It monkey ball time!
I mean morbing ball time!
This really sounds like it belongs in one of the Yakuza games
This is apparently gonna be the new Final Boss song in Banana Blitz HD...
ChrisTehMii I would love the music to be as good as in the first monkey ball there
monke banger
this gives me some sonic adventure 2 vibes right there
This isn’t a level, it’s a Boss Fight!
Biggest banger on Super monkey ball if you ask me. shame you gotta get all the way to level 40 on expert to hear it lol
The ONLY thing that would make this better is the addition of the rain, wind, and thunder from in game
it reminds me of how nagoshi transformed from a normal chill guy to a mafia gang leader
anyone else think this was such intimidating music and world for such easy floors?
This is used for the end of expert in Super Monkey Ball, 3rd hardest area by design in the game.
yeah, idk about yall, but those were sooo easy
Voshon Ward Designed to be hard though, which is the point.
I wanna recreate these floors and actually give it the diffuculty it deserves -_-
Seriously. This was the perfect place to put Expert 7 (Exam C) on. Without searching up strats, the two I found difficult was Expert 45 and kind of Expert 50.
Clear the challenges! It's raining outside!
Exam C should’ve been put here. Replace it with expert 47 and swap places with expert 48, meaning you couldn’t use the green goal to skip on 46. Would’ve been perfect, some people probably have never even made it past 7 and got to see these storm levels.
That music is f*cking dope..
Super Yakuza Ball
2:41 - 3:16 is at the point where I’m rolling a tank not a monkey anymore. DAMN this hits hard. 🫨
Expert Stages in a nutshell (Storm):
Expert 41: Oh no…
Expert 42: HELL NO
Expert 43: “HOW DO I CALCULATE THIS?”
Expert 44: *S P H E R I C A L*
Expert 45: Precisely!
Expert 46: 8 Bracelets origins but not 8
Expert 47: gg held straight
Expert 48: tough luck! *BA DUM DISS*
Expert 49: *B O N K*
Expert 50: PLEASE JUST GET ME OUTTA HERE!
The level difficulty:designed by satan himself
The theme:gladiator arena surrounded by a void/wind and rain/spikes on the goal where if you fallout a baby monkey dies from starving to death after falling for eternity
The music: 💃🕺
YEAH THE FINAL LAP
Goes through all the expert without losing a life.
Dies on floor 50 and uses a continue on it as well.
FUUUUUUCK I WAS SO CLOSE TO GETTING THE EXPERT EXTRA DAMN YOU FINAL FLOOR!
This gives me Yakuza vibes lol
This is the master stage(s) theme in the GBA port, but the guitar sounds like a really damaged amp.
I've never even made it here.
i only made it up to advanced. i couldn't even beat expert 3😂
The only world in this game I didn't know as a kid that it existed.
If you didn’t know this existed then you didn’t know master existed
I knew it existed, but only because of the title screen previews. I was obsessed with reaching this part of the game... and never did. LOL
At 0.75x sounds like master theme from monkey ball jr
Cool song, I like it!(:0D
My favourite SMB game was SMB1. My least favourite was SMB Adventure.
Adventure was an oddball, yeah. More speed-oriented game engines are not what the franchise needed, in my opinion.
I honestly thought adventure was really good
Welecome to rock
Why didn't they use this track for the Storm levels in SMBJr? WHY?!
BlueDucky They do have this song, but it is significantly lower quality and it's only on the Master Levels
Lets hope there they make a remix
writing this from the hospitall!!!!!!
SO is rocked
