Ikr XD but I remember one time when I smacked one dude off the ledge it glitched and didnt deploy the parachutr and I could see the guy DYING AND HITTING THE GROUND. I also smacked a guy into lava

If the music wasn't diegetic then all the mii would hear would be the waves crashing underneath and its own heartbeat as it prepares for certain doom. That's pretty boring so I would like to think that it is.
And then there's Beef Boss who always seems to take a hit or 2 to the little dicks as his trainer calls them.
The rhythm of the percussion is just the sound of earth shattering with each of Matt's mighty steps.
They managed to make a bunch of miis fighting with fake swords feel really epic.

@Your Local Commenter The beginning is when the fight starts, the instruments that pick up will be when the characters are fighting. The extremely high anxiety music picks up when both fighters are at 1 stock, but this only works at STOCK FIGHTS. Timed fights can play the music in loop, but almost at the end of the timer, it plays the end of it.

Playing Volcano Reverse for the first time the sight of a giant hulking Matt at the end scared me so much that I froze up and he annihilated me. Took me damn near a year to finally get up to him again and I just panicked and hit him with a fortuitous three-hit combo.
