Take the rear panel off and you'll find a small silver lever in the white plastic area. Push down with a screw driver and it will open. You will find the wires inside the rubber sleeve between the body and door is full of bare wires. There is a splice kit available but from Latvia on ebay for 30 bucks. Good luck. Remember to cuss fiat for using cheap wiring. :)
Actually didn’t have to spend 15mins trying to pry open, there’s a manual release right on the white plastic part of the mechanism on the inside of the hatch.

What about change the fuse? 🤔
Hoping this will help me. My issue is that the button on my trunk is loose so there may be a faulty connection
Usually the pins that the handle swivvels on have worked their way out - push them back in.
Do you know the spec for that white connector that goes into the trunk
Thanks for info how to take panel off
Jim, did the key switch work to release after ?
I tried it on my car but it’s a 2016 and none of the tricks are releasing the hatch. If anyone has a way to release a 2016 500x , please share
The 500X and 500L are almost completely different than all of the other 500's. This video should apply to 500 Pop, Sport, Cabrio and Abarth.
Currently balls deep trying to get my trunk open since the latch button fell out. My 2016 fiat 500x has been nothing but troubles
Thank you!
I can here an Irish twang, correct?
No. Canadian...
Nice
Funny Thanks 😂
What a shitty car. Rear calipers locking from hand brake, manual trans reverse linkage bushing failed, on and on.
