DPF stands for Diesel Particulate Filter. In that’s screen you can do a “REGEN” which super heats the DPF (kinda like a CAT but for diesels) to get rid of the Soot and stuff out of it.
I bought the app to try opening the exhaust flap on my 2014 F15 MSport, it will open it, but once you turn the car off it closes. Do you have to re-open it every time you start the car?

This will read codes and faults? I'm looking to read DTC and engine codes as well as like airbag and restraint codes. Does this work for that? Can you clear them with it as well?

No. Battery coding is different from battery registration. Registration is for telling the car you are replacing with the same spec battery. For a different spec battery, you need to code the car for it. Bimmerlink does not do that.
Just tested BimmerCode with VeePeak BLÉ+ with my car e91 from 2006 and guess what happens when I connect it ? “Connection Error: The adapter is not suitable for use with this car.” BAM !!
I can't lie I ride with my active sound design on in my 328i lol. Right now it's set to sound like an m3 (corny i know). Once I either do a muffle delete or a whole new exhaust I'll turn it off.
Not sure I do believe my car came with a premium upgrade, but I didn't have to do anything to enable it. Then using bimmercode I was able to choose which sound profile I wanted.
You have to click on expert mode in active sound design on bimmercode. Once there to make it sound like an M3 you select F80 as the model # then for engine it's the S55B30. Then code it

The latest versions of BimmerLink & BimmerCode no longer recommend the Vgate adapters. ...which is a shame because they are generally cheaper and easier to obtain in the UK

Isn’t BL kind of a waste for opening the exhaust valve? You have to do it every time you start the car. You can’t just leave it open.

Bimmerlink is for reading and clearing codes. Bimmercode is for coding in features.

They are entirely different. Bimmercode is for coding features, bimmerlink is for reading and clearing errors
