I had a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria that was giving the symptoms you were talking about it was stalling, was running good at high speed but then it would suddenly cut out and it said the fuel pressure rail sensor, which I replaced but that was not the problem. So probably the fuel pump...thank u
Thanks for sharing. You can use the fuel trim data further nail the fuel pump. I covered that in this video. ruclips.net/video/O5KI0GHNX7Y/видео.html Also check out the fuel pump relay, and connector for the fuel rail sensor for corrosion. Examine the prongs for flux residue too.
@@DIYAutoworksNG Well, Only on youtube is almost always a conveniently visible cracked Air Duct. if you take the inverse ratio of all these videos and multiply that buy the lenght of the video and subtract the lenght of the repair from that, you will have a number close to 90% which in reality is fuel pump issue 🙂
I have a Ford Fiesta 1.4 duratec 2006-2008 model, my car recently was standing fir about 3 months as I had redone the engine due to a bearing knock. Now the car was idling perfect and quiet and driving perfect. But today I tried to accelerate and car stalled, also it cut out a few times after and idling not constant goes up and down then car dies. Could this be fuel pump or the filter. I think it's fuel pump because I also get wrong reading on my petrol gaige it Wil jump up down.
It could be the fuel pump/something in the fuel sending unit. If you have a scanner you may be able to read the fuel pressure or make a diagnosis from livedata. Any codes?
Is whinning noise also among the symptoms of failing fuel pump? ? I once had whinning noise i changed and put new transmission, but still whinning noise, and i lack power uphill, but everything goes well on free high way, but sometimes struggles to gain speed.
@@DIYAutoworksNG My Acura is doing that also it just started this morning when I tried starting it it would crank trying to turn over..then I turned the the key back to start it again then it wouldn't start but still has power.. so do the sound resemble a nos whining type sound? @@DIYAutoworksNG i changed already the fuel pump, fuel filter, put new spark plug, cleaning Mass airflow sensor, Throttle, EGR valve, Cleaning the Catalyc converter, change transmission fluid and put new filter, cleaning transmission pan of dirty fluid but no any metal shavings seen, put new air cleaner, now the speed comes back but still i get whinning noise at a speed of 100km per hour, i then change front wheel bearings, idler puley, water pump, alternator, but the whinning still there, transmission fluid is at the required level, the car accelerates at all speed no limit but it whines and sometimes whinning noise disappear, and comes back. What else I should do? ?
i have changed fuel pump 3 times, afer install it makes weird sound in about 1-2 weeks and after 2-3 month it dies,i changed also filters and whole thing placed in fuel tank, what should i do?
Are you using genuine parts or a reputable aftermarket part? And also the right one for the car. Also how clean is your fuel tank? Finally, do you confirm failure by testing fuel pressure? Making a weird sound, sounds like a defective fuel pressure regulator to me.

Hope this was helpful. Feel free to share any fuel pump/fuel supply issues you've had. Cheers!

This is exactly all the symptoms I have been having, and my mechanic have refused to check the fuel pump..
He kept pointing to the throttle body
Hmmm. Do let us know which one resolves the issue. All the best!
Damn the fuel pump. 90% reason for P0171
🤣 I don't know about the percentage, but definitely a common cause of that code and its brother P0174

How do I know which one failed in my mk6 gli? It has a high pressure and an in tank fuel pump
The DTCs for high and low pressure pumps should be different. Also, active testing using a scanner will nail this.

Yep. Some failing fuel pumps also develop a loud whine.

You can go ahead to troubleshoot for a failing fuel pump as I did (or use a mechanic if you don't know how) to confirm.

Is it possible to record this whining noise?
Its possible bad fuel pump its lazy acceleration, engine hissing, popř fuel economy And p0130 dtc?
Depending on the car, the generic P0130 refers to an issue with the primary O2 sensor, and it can cause all the problems you listed.
