Hi Tom, thanks for another lovely video. I liked the music!!! I am happy to paint the railings free of charge for a free hotel place and to spend the Summer there😂😂
Hello Tom , what a lovely video of west coast path in Jersey, would love to come back and see & walk parts of Jersey. Haven’t been there since 1993. Paddy is a great walking companion.
Hi Iain, thanks so much for taking the time to comment. 1993 probably seems like yesterday, but can you believe that that is over 30 years ago! Where does the time go? I wouldn't be doing these videos without our Paddy! 🐾😁👍🏻
Good morning Tom! Looked like a nice enough day to me. Really like hearing the history of the places you walk past. We don't have near the rich and full past here in the middle of America. Thanks again!..plenty of excitement for me! 😂
Good morning Robert and thank you so much for watching and commenting from all the way over in the middle of America! The world today is a strange place isn't it? The thought that people from all areas of the world are some of the group who watch my small channel is very rewarding to me.......so thank you! 👍🏻Oh and thank you for the feedback! 👍🏻😁
Hi Tom & Paddy. This is the first time we've commented, although having discovered your channel in August '24, we've been working our way through your videos from the beginning, currently nearing the end of your 2024 videos. We have been visiting Jersey a few times a year since 1990. We totally love the island, and it's so good to watch your videos and hear the views of a long-standing resident who also obviously loves Jersey. Your videos are perfectly timed and pitched, with interesting walks, beautiful views, helpful comments where required, and of course not forgetting Paddy, who is so cute with his little occasional skip. Thank you so much for creating this channel, which we both enjoy so much in between our visits to Jersey. Debbie and David Jones, Manchester
Hi David and Debbie, thank you so much for taking the time to comment and for all your positive remarks! I'm so glad you enjoy the videos and a big thumbs up for raising my viewing figures! 👍🏻Our daughter is doing her Masters at University of Manchester as we speak and thoroughly enjoying it! Great to hear from you! 👍🏻😁
😮 wow Tom and Paddy 🐕🥩🦴 g I remember earlier in the year you and 🌟 Angie walked this Trek if I had a tin of paint a wire brush I sort the rusty railings out lol 🤔 it will take years but what a lovely place to do it in summer 🏖️ I remember the sands chateau letaq and water splash clubs back in the early 70s don Estelle and his sidekick Windsor Davies doing their act whispering green grass in the water splash great memories wonderful place to be ❤ well boys thanks for the 🎥 lovely stroll c u 2mora all the best John 😊😊
Hi John, yes I remember when Windsor Davies was over. Did you ever see the Krankies John? They were actually very funny and generous people........and they seem to turn up everywhere on TV. I've got you the railings gig.........£5 an hour and all the beer you can drink, plus a bag chips at the weekend! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍🏻
Hi Lloyd, I still love that song and when David Gilmour comes in with his solo near the end it never fails to bring a tear to my eye for some reason! I hope that you are keeping well mate! 👍🏻
We walked along there many years ago, Tom. We played some crazy golf and then had a lovely lunch in the golf club next to it! Assuming they are all still there!
Hi Sheila, the golf club is teetering along with many disgruntled members. The crazy golf is still going strong and I believe the clubhouse Rocco's is still open! Snowing? ❄️🌨️☃️
Thanks for the history lesson Tom, I certainly didn’t know when I moved to Jersey that the Island is steeped in history. The railings I wonder who is responsible for them as it goes through three parishes or is it the states responsibility ?. I used to go to the water splash when I first moved to Jersey. I was friendly with three Jersey Guy’s I worked with and was asked if I wanted to go with them on the Saturday to the water splash. One guy was a surfer and had a VW van so off we went had a great evening and picked up four girls. On the way back to one of the guy’s homes we were stopped at a road check in St Peter and he knew one of the guys. We all had a skint full and to my astonishment he said ok straight home now and enjoy your evening. So it’s who you know and things are probably much different today. Cheers 🏌🏻♂️⛳️ 🐕🦺.
Hi Ted, yes things were very different back then........I seem to remember we used to head down in three cars. Of course no-one would even think of doing that today and that's why a lot of the country pubs have struggled! I just had a quick look at all the comments before replying and it looks like John Mullin has volunteered to paint the fence.......so we are sorted! 😂🤣😂🤣🏌🏻⛳
Hi Tom I couldn't help but notice when you mentioned the word Watersplash.. Just like magic the accompanying music 🎹 was very appropriate and relaxing .. Good choice Tom. ✅. Meanwhile I am wondering 🤔 do you prefer these shorter,, let's say less taxing walks or the more precarious, adventurous, rugged, clambering over rocks? . I wonder which Paddy prefers 😂. Thanks for the wee History lesson too 📚..it Is good to learn something new every day . See you again soon Im Sure. All the best ☘️
Hi Christine........glad you enjoyed the music.....Colin and my wife couldn't stand it! 😁😁😁 The walk we just watched was actually from Corbiere to the end of the Five Mile Road and it took a couple of hours, so I was a bit "cream crackered" by the end of it but yes, I know what you mean and I definitely prefer the cliff paths with all their ups and downs! Paddy just loves being out there but he does particularly enjoy a good beach! Thanks for all your comments, I really appreciate you taking the time! 👍🏻
@@thereluctantoutdoorsmanmy stupid brain... Of course you were walking the full stretch . Quite a dander Tom and I guess Paddy never complained. Wondering how many steps it was 😂
A few too many! 😁 How people complete the island walk in one go each year never ceases to amaze me though. Angie and our daughter Libby completed it in 17 hours when Libby was just 13 and in the worst conditions the walk has ever seen! There is no way I could have done it! 🥵😡🤬
Hi tom ,have you ever considered showing the german bunker locations, ? In france ,normandy the french have practically built their economy on the german fortifications. Its a thought for your channel, if so you can purchase a map at the german underground hospital now renamed jersey war tunnels .giving the locations of these bunkers and exsplaining their individual positions of defence. Or you could consider showing the filming locations of the bergerac series ,that is still showing on tv throughout europe .it might interest some viewrs .?? I noticed paddy tried to slip down the steps to the beach tom😂 a lovely walk tom
Hi Brian, both your suggestions are really good, so thank you so much for the feedback. I have to admit that I know very little about the German defenses, so feel like I would have to do quite a bit of research in order to do the subject justice. As for Bergerac locations I think that that may well be a winner, if only I had ever watched any of it! 😁Of course the new series is out in February and I will be watching. Yesterday I looked at Episode 1 of Series 1 of the original, so maybe I will get to know it after all! Paddy is always trying to head beach-wards.
Thank you Tom, I remember drumming at the Watersplash when it was an elegant night club, why are most things trashy today? Ah Western decline in everything it seems.
Yes Ron, I agree with you.........I think decline is accelerating and think that our generation have been extremely lucky, because we may just have lived at the best time anyone will ever experience!
I could almost have written your script for you today Tom. One of mt cozens from Jersey, Gordon Chapman, took me to the Watersplash for my 17th. birthday. As you say it was a club in those days with some quite exotic acts. Not to mention that a bit of under age alcohol was also consumed. Yes, those were the days.
Hi Tom, thanks for another lovely video. I liked the music!!! I am happy to paint the railings free of charge for a free hotel place and to spend the Summer there😂😂
Sounds good to me Valerie! 😂🤣😂🤣

Hey Tom a walk along here listening to Between Two Points would be well worth it 👍

@thereluctantoutdoorsman oh really? 🤣. Glad to hear they are still going anyway! Must have been 8 years or so ago when we went there😱

Good on John, should keep him busy for a couple of years.

😂🤣 Nice one Malcolm! Yes, those were certainly the days! 👍🏻
Some of the backgroung "music" is dire - had to turn the sound off.

😁 Colin, my wife said exactly the same thing.........and she was in the next room! ☹️
