I was about to say the same thing, thinking of Chet Atkins (with whom Tommy recorded and stayed in a granny flat in Chet's backyard when Mr. Guitar was in his dying days. Chet never performed the same way, "live" at his concerts the songs the way we remembered them -- every note burned into our brains. Thanks, Ted Hoeborn for the memory. I talked to him once in my hometown Gävle in Sweden. He was a very nice person and was supposed to perform in the Concert Hall later in the evening, although he took his time to talk to us at a ordinary diner about music and guitarplaying. A memory for life. The local radio sent it live.
I am simply speechless...... There are no words to describe Tommy's unbelievable guitar skills and showmanship. I have had lots of guitar heroes over my 40 years of playing but Tommy in my current hero and has been for 10 years! WOW! 💥💥💥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I absolutely love to listen, watch, and hear anything his fans and he himself puts on the internet. He is a true master of his craft. I am always inspired by his showmanship as well as his mastery. I have been playing the guitar for 32 ish years. I think it's strange that anyone would even consider selling their instrument or all together quitting playing the guitar based solely on how much better anyone else is at the same instrument. Even if it is a joke or just a strange way to compliment Tommy. Personally, he keeps me excited about playing and show's me that there are still many ways to improve. Knock the dust off those guitars people, hiding/running from them is truly a wast of a perfectly good tree.
Non..je ne suis pas adepte de la technique "métal" ni de la "disto" en général..mais préfère les sons de l'acoustique..classique ou autres... Merci de votre réponse ♥♥
Saw him 12 times in 10 years, and people ask me if I get bored hearing him play the same songs. I tell them that he may play the same songs (not all the time, but yes I've heard many of the same songs several times) but I've never heard him the play same song the same way twice. So you never know what he is going to put in there. A true master and a genius.
Jesus when he started playing the boogie at that tempo i was like is he actually gonna pull this off? so risky to play a song like that at that tempo on stage...what a musician..

Look at the faces in this crowd - the intelligence and the joy! You can tell half of them are guitarists! (We are like fishermen recognizing each other from afar.) For now, skip his opener, Classical Gas (best version you've ever heard) but skip ahead to 3:25. [Note to self] Highlights of “better and better” at 6:45 and (funky) at 8:30, 10:45, and 12:45.
