Just need to say again I LOVE this series. What a great way to discuss perfumes you might not otherwise discuss and also do something fun for your viewers.
It's Kate here, @thefragranceoutlier. Thank you so much for reviewing my collection and for the lovely suggestions for summer sandalwoods. I'll definitely check those out. 🤗 And thanks to those in the comments for the other sandalwood suggestions. So many lovely fragrances to get my nose on!
It’s funny I had the same reaction in the grocery store this guy started talking to me about the perfume I had on lol I had Vcanto rici and chane coco mademoiselle .
Yes! That’s the first one I thought of. I lived in Singapore until very recently and I grabbed this all the time. It was perfect for the hot and humid Singapore weather!
Such a great series! It really helps to round out a collection and what is missing. I have a hard time with summer fragrances, so your suggestions are appreciated.
Most of my fragrances are super sweet. I need to have more fresh fragrances because I live in a warm weather 🌞. I enjoy❤️ these videos thanks Josephine 😄👍
Love that you love doing these videos. You are the Queen of recommending different scents we may have overlooked or not tried as of yet. You know how I deel about your talent and you.❤
Finally one for hot, humid and tropical weather! As someone who lives in a country where there’s only two seasons, it is so tricky buying perfumes, especially niche fragrances because sometimes they do not blend well with our weather.😭 would love to hear other perfume suggestions though, but really loving this series 🥰🥰
Josephine, I know you love Scherzo. When I got it, it reminded me so much of a scent I already have and it's Oud 07 by Swiss Arabian. I highly recommend it to try. It doesn't have the same lightness as it is middle eastern and it's slightly bolder and sweeter and lacks the light watery, peony note, but the oud and rose is so similar and Oud 07 could definitely be an Intense flanker for Scherzo. The other one I love in this line is Rose 01. Similar to Delina but without the tartness, a slight hybrid of Atomic Rose and Delina and the rose they used in this line is just divine. Performance for both are beast mode.
Hello beauty, I just subscribed to your channel! I was going to buy TF Tigerlily but you made me discover JC Rose Passion and buyed this one instead! Thank you:) also onr is more milky and the other more sunny but I think they are prettty similar, what do you think?
LOVED this video! Fragrance is such a personal topic that sometimes I get lost in the recommendations, because how do I know WHO the fragrance is for and whether I fit the bill? Even though none of these collections matched mine exactly, it was incredibly fun to watch you paint a picture of what the person likes and what their collection still needs. Awesome concept and I'm eagerly awaiting future episodes :)
So much fun to watch this! I only just acquired some Gucci The Alchemist's Garden scents, would love to hear your thoughts on them! Also, what foundation are you wearing - because wow!
What is your opinion on Bois Imperial? I've owned Ganymede but didn't like it that much, on the other hand though...Bois Imperial has become my favorite fragrance of all time. I'm curious what you think.
Absolutely adore this format, what a brilliant idea to interact with your followers! I’ll try my luck, I would love your opinion on my collection and your personal suggestions!
Can I say that Vancouver is not cold. It doesn’t even get much below freezing in winter. The summer is quite warm there actually. The last decade or so, Vancouver has been very dry in the summer. It rarely gets super hot or super cold because Vancouver is on the coast. I suspect the love for powdery fragrances is because Vancouver is wet and dark in the winter. Calgary (where I live) is cold in the winter. We are high and dry and have 7-10 days of -30C every winter. I visit my family and friends in Vancouver frequently. One fragrance I love in the summer is Five O’clock au Gingembre. It is pretty seasonless.
lWe also enjoy these videos!!! Please continue :))I absolutely agree with santal greenery! tried it first in winter and wasn't impressed but then tried with warmer weather and it's perfect!
I’ve heard you call Guerlain a designer brand a few times…but they are a niche brand. A very old niche brand, truthfully predating the niche and designer categories, but still. If we are going to call companies like Byredo niche despite being bought out by huge conglomerates, we should be consistent and still call Guerlain niche, too.
I understand Niche perfumes are the ones that ONLY make perfumes. Guerlain does make up and skin care too, not sure if is a niche brand. What ever it is I love Guerlain perfumes ❤
Technically they are neither or could be both... they are a tri-category brand i.e. products for skincare, makeup and fragrance, but created it's first fragrance at the end of the 19th century. From a pricing stand point their core fragrance line is in-line with designer prices whilst their l'art et la matiere collection is priced like niche fragrances. So you see, the positioning isn't straight forward. I suspect that their core line that's priced like designer fragrances is what generates the biggest revenue so on that basis you could call it designer. What about byredo? Even though it was bought by a major fragrance company, it's still considered niche (price, olfactive expression, messaging, distribution to some level, etc). And having worked for major beauty companies, I can tell you that this is how they categorize this brand internally.
@@jusderose Guerlain began with fragrance and it has always been known primarily for fragrance despite producing other cosmetics. Diptyque is just as known for candles home scents, yet they are still a known as a niche perfume brand. There are other examples of niche perfume brands branching out- yet they’re still niche perfume brands. Also, I’m curious why you brought up price, because to my understanding, categorizing a brand as niche does not have to do with its price. Niche brands can be as inexpensive as typical designers; and designer brands (like Tom Ford, as you mentioned) can be outrageously expensive, surpassing even most niche brands. So this classification system, to my understanding, does not have to do with price at all. It has to do with the brand having a “niche”. In Guerlain’s case, fragrance has always been their niche product. I suppose it’s sort of a grey area, as you said. I just would *not* call them designer. They’re not at all in the same category as cut and dry designers like Dior or Chloe, in my sincere opinion. All this to say: _I really think that we should save that label of “designer” for brands which only began selling fragrances _*_after_*_ they were well known for their other products (usually clothing), not for brands like Guerlain, which had its beginnings as a perfume house from the very start._
Sponsored or not, i can't get my hands on alot of these so they keep me from wasting money. If i hear "fruity" or "really sweet", I'm out. I even keep notes on samples to try and what to avoid. They make money at times yes. But this is their job and it takes time. They deserve to be paid something.
