  • Emergency security measures remain in place in Moscow, after a rebellion by Wagner mercenaries that has shaken the position of the Russian president.
In a startling 24 hours, Vladimir Putin faced the greatest challenge to his authority since coming to power more than two decades ago.
While the immediate risk seems contained, Russia experts say Putin does not emerge looking strong, but rather badly bruised.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made a TV address after Yevgeny Prigozhin's attempted mutiny on Saturday.

Have you, as always, been shown half?))) And they did not show people who scolded soldiers for such betrayal in a difficult moment for the motherland. Have you at least understood the essence of the conflict? The main subject of the quarrel between Prigozhin and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is how to kill the Ukronazists better, faster and more. Like: Prigozhin says: "Yes, I will bomb Ukraine in 2 weeks, intimidate Europe and America and live peacefully!" And Shoigu replies: "Get out, you bloody soldier! You don't understand anything, we still have to live in this world!"

The corrupt DICKtators always change the Constitution so they can run for longer terms. After this is done, they again change it so they rule for life along with eliminating all political opponents.
Trump has lead up to changing the Constitution, commented on many occasions (his typical build up b4 bold moves) that he NEEDS to change it and if (heaven forbid) he takes 2024, he WILL change much in the Constitution.
THEN all the DICKtators will rule the world, because as it stands, US leads the fight against tyranny and New World Order. With out them, the rest of NATO can not stand against a corrupt USA, Ruzzia, China, Iran, Venezuela, Brazil, Hungary ...
I also agree 100% with terms. But violent, vile, evil little men who repeatedly destroy tens of thousands of lives for their own gain, start illegal wars and constant crimes against humanity, tend to do what ever they like.

Does anyone in Russia realize what the potential the Russian conomy has if it was run by a "business man" that would make his country a desirable tourist attraction. There are so many beautiful places in Russia to vist that would rival other famous tourist attractions. What a waste of potential happiness to the people of Russia.

Prigozhin had to make a fuss over the last few months as his gains were pathetic even if "better" than anything that the Russian regular army could show. Having captured Bakhmut after several months of intense combat (far from an impressive feat considering the amount of time and Wagner casualties involved) he was clearly looking for an escape route to get the hell out of Ukraine. Obviously he was told by Putin and friends "thanks for Bakhmut... now get back to attempting to liberate the rest of the Donbas" but that wasn't a job he wanted. With no clear easy exit strategy for Wagner forces and his own ass as well this mutiny was his one route out the only other option being to fight on against an ever increasingly powerful Ukrainian army. Sometimes it's rather difficult for the rat to leave the sinking ship. Now Prigozhin just needs to impress (if he hasn't already) to Putin and the elite of Russia that he and Wagner are crucial to Russia in the rest of the world and he can maybe go on his way along with important elements of his Wagner forces who were formerly fighting in Ukraine... the conscripted prisoners and anyone not deemed important he will abandon to be absorbed into the Russian army.

I realize it's probably the middle of the night there, but how could the BBC not find live Russian translation, given hours of notice? At the risk of derailing the conversation, we should also mention that the gradual erosion of journalism are now affecting basic news functions: we know less, we're less certain, and it takes longer, because (I assume) BBC news isn't getting the resources it needs to cover the issue completely. (Guess what? Neither is Reuters, the AP, the US NPR...)

A President who got rich and powerful on the back of criminality, calls the Wagner group and its leader criminals. What an irony but true. They both deserve each other as brothers in criminality 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Prigozhin is one of the few competent Russian military leaders. Him being out of the war will not help the Russian efforts.
