    Here we are working on the Bernina 770QE playing with some fun bobbin thread. Working with thread that is too thick to fit through the needle you can put it on your bobbin like the Razzle Dazzle thread by Superior Threads. The super large bobbin with the BERNINA really helps hold a lot of that thread so you can play for longer. The Red bobbin case is a must have in order to do this because it is the only bobbin case that has no tensioner to apply tension on the bobbin thread. Since the thread is so thick it wouldn't pull through a typically bobbin case properly. Hope you enjoy the video. :)

    This is hands down the best, most thorough information I've found anywhere. I seriously appreciate the in depth information you share. You don't just show us, you tell us WHY it's important to use a certain presser foot, or increase the top tension. I'm very grateful as I've got a bobbin work class coming up and I'll be better prepared for having spent time viewing your video. Thank you so much!

    Cody, this is the absolute best video on bobbin work. You are my "go to" guy and have taught me the most about my 790. Thank you.

    I haven’t tried bobbin work on my new 570QE yet. Now I know what to do! Also, your jazz is a fun addition. 🎺🎷🤗

    This is sooooo good. I did my first bobbin work last year by hand winding cotton floss around the bobbin and doing a straight stitch. Blown away at the results. Your tips are inspiring to go to the next level. I am a little bit afraid to see how much the red bobbin case costs. 😉❤️🌵🇺🇸

    Thank you so much for this video! I learn so much from you, I had no idea there was a 'red' bobbin case - no wonder I haven't been able to use the specialty threads!

    Great video, do you have one that shows winding the thick thread in the red bobbin? Thank you

    Pulling your bobbin thread through to the top as in quilting BEFORE you start the pattern will stop the trapping of the bobbin thread in the work - needle down near the start, needle up, hold top thread end, pull threads by moving the fabric, pull top thread end and catch the bobbin thread as it comes up and hold. Move fabric back to beginning, hold both threads away and start stitching. Sounds complicated by easy really.

    Would the red bobbin work to sew elastic thread for shirring?

    Hi. Sorry but What I understood about the tension adjustment you said , that if I adjust the tension settings ti a certain number, the machine will add it every time I select any stitch pattern?? Pls correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks dear for your perfect tutorials

    • @sewingwithcodyandpete8651
      @sewingwithcodyandpete8651  3 года назад +3

      That is correct. If you adjust the tension in the “settings” it will add that adjustment to every stitch you select even after to turn off and back on the machine. It’s perfect when you are working with different threads and you find you need to always adjust the top thread tension when you change the stitch. Hope this helps 😀

    Hi. That’s very cool. But what is the top thread weight you are using with this razzle dazzle ?? Thanks

      Good question. I’ve used a number of different threads on the top and have had pretty much the same result. I’ve used 80wt polyester “Decobob by wonderfil “ and I believe in the video injust used 50wt Mettler cotton. The reason I’ve used the 80wt decobob in the past was because it was nice and thin so it wouldn’t really show on the back, and it naturally tightens the top thread tension.
