Nah. The mass majority of other gamers who act that way...I would not want anywhere near a dog. They’d still neglect it and/or raise it mean. They’d be That Dog Owner who lets their dog off leash and claims that it circling or charging you while barking and its hackles raised is “friendly behavior”.
What they need is definitely to limit how much time they’re playing (not stop altogether), get some fresh air, and idk go volunteer every other weekend so they’re interacting face-to-face in a neutral environment vs behind a screen in a competively charged one.
They need to actually become more self-aware before letting them become responsible for another living creature would be a Good Idea

Idk if you've heard of Ryan George's pitch meetings but the screenwriter pitching the movie describes the scene as "He forces Gandalf to breakdance" 😂
I recently rewatched lotr with a friend who has never seen it and everytime the oaks on the move all I could think of was "shots of running ork running ork running ork hahahahaha" and it honestly made the long journey parts so much more interesting and funny 😄
