I want to take a moment to apologize for offending those of you who feel that the antique women figure that was included in this video is innapropriate. Honestly, when I added her to my decor I didn't think about skin color. I liked her red dress which matches my kitchen decor. If she would have been any other skin color, she still would have been a part of my kitchen decor. I apologize that I don't "see" skin color. To me, it doesn't matter what a person looks like. I look at peoples hearts. Even though, I lost a few hundred subscribers, I can't take down this video. I hope you can enjoy other parts of the video and get some good inspiration from other vintage items that are displayed.
Majority are offended at everything. Those people who were offended by the lady in the dress are eagerly awaiting offense and will take offense that there is no offense...glad they're gone. I LOVE your house! Awesome explanation too! God bless you ☺️
I am so glad this video brought back wonderful memories for you. That is exactly what I hope this channel will bring for those who watch it. Thank you for sharing.
I love that you left the vintage cabinets. They are fantastic. My kitchen dates to the 1940s, and overall is larger than yours, but it has far, far less cabinet space, and even less counter space than this lovely kitchen has. BUT, despite that, we keep it as it is and use alternative storage solutions and use the kitchen table as a prep surface as they would have done in the last 80 years before we moved in. I like seeing how you incorporated vintage items into your space. I'd like to add some to mine, but feel like I can't "waste" an inch of space on decorative elements, but seeing how you made them work in your kitchen is very inspiring in that regard. Thanks for sharing!
Your tiny kitchen is simply wonderful. Our house is 1913 with a late 1950s/early 1960s sunset maple (paneling, lots of wood paneling) update, which is perfect for my vintage stainless cookware. I changed out my kitchen knobs and pulls for jade glass reproductions. I refer to jade, turquoise, teal, emerald, and related colors as "colors my house loves." My uranium glass and many inherited pieces are put away--you have inspired me to create a way to get them out on display.
Hi M3. Thank you for writing to me here. With all those beautiful colors your house loves, I can imagine how beautiful your home is. I'm so glad you are inspired to display pieces you have put away. Let me know if you do. Have a great weekend.
Hi Rachael. Thank you for commenting. It's wonderful to meet you! Yes, it's so sad. I wish there was something I could have done to prevent that from happening.
I love your kitchen. My kitchen and dining room are all vintage. I just love the history of it all. It's a shame it's going to be torn down. Love your vintage things.
Thank you Diane. So true, I'm finding it harder to find "good" vintage items for my home. I feel like so many people are looking for it. I'm really looking forward to sharing my new home with everyone. I think the first video will be the upstairs bedrooms.
Wow hi love your tiny kitchen the pumpkin sign to your coffee cup! memories of when I was a child.loving all your items you have .. Thanks for showing.💛
I love all your treasures in your cute kitchen. You made great use of the space. You will have so much fun decorating your new home. I will look forward to seeing it. ❤️❤️❤️
Memories like this will be treasured for many years to come! The tour was very interesting......like taking a peak in an old curiosity shop......lots of valuable pieces.........that are not only for display but for use of some of them. I’m sure your new home will reflect your vintage collections and many pieces in each room. Looking forward to that tour.🤗🤗🤗
At 1:51 I have the same can label framed. That was a recent purchase via Ebay and my husband framed it and hung it up for me with a new shelf for Christmas.
Aren't they great labels? I have more, but I didn't have room for them. I hope to do something with them in my new kitchen. Did you make the frame for it or buy?
Your tiny vintage kitchen is cute even though you're going to be moving to a new house maybe you will make that kitchen look vintage also but you'll have more space put more of your beautiful thank you for sharing the vintage stuff cuz I love vintage stuff also
Hi Cynthia. Thank you for commenting and watching my kitchen tour. We are in the middle of building our new kitchen now. As I'm designing it, I'm thinking about where my vintage glass and things will go. It will have a pantry and a breakfast nook. I'm so excited to share it when it's done.
You will have to have have your husband at some beautiful shelving with glass doors for your beautiful vintage glassware or beautiful shells that would display it or somehow somewhere built-ins are something that something to showcase your beautiful dishes I have a lot of depression dishes that were my mother's down to somebody in the family already and the other green ones and they're very beautiful
Love your tiny kitchen and everything in it!!! I would imagine some wonderful family meals come from this space. Look forward to seeing the "new" house too👵💖🦋
I can't, This house was torn down a few years back. I'll be sure to get more close ups in the future. I'm sorry it took me so long to respond. I must have missed your comment some how.
It was hard to see it torn down. At least I still have the memories. There is a new house in its place now. I miss that little carriage house. Thank you for commenting. Have a wonderful day.
Actually I love your kitchen. We use the top of freezer for counter space also. I have a red wicker tray that I decorate on top of the freezer and it's easy to remove from the freezer. You have given your kitchen a personality which goes a long way toward forgiving the size of it. I have the typical kitchen that is in hundreds, no thousands of apartments. My main color is red when decorating but I mix in seasonal colors on top of the freezer. I would love to have your kitchen as I said and I was decorating in my stuff as we went along.
Hi June. I'm so glad to see a comment from you. Thank you so much for your sweet comment. Red is a great color for decorating. You are a very talent person. I bet your kitchen looks great. We have something in common, small kitchens. LOL
Such a cute space and you all were so creative making those plate holders and then the shelf at the window is fantastic! I'm sad to hear it will be torn down, but you sound excited about the new old house. I just don't like old houses being torn down. I would be very happy in a kitchen that size. Thanks for sharing.
My house was built in 1969 and I have a tiny kitchen. Except for wishing I had more countertop space, and that it was larger when we have large get togethers, I love my little kitchen. It’s the perfect size for me. This little kitchen was amazing. I loved your cabinet wall. And the way you displayed it all, was packed with personality. It’s a shame this charming place had to be torn down. But I’m sure you’re loving your new one. I’m a new subscriber and can’t wait to see it. Please do a video of a house tour. 😊 Thanks for sharing.
Hi! I loved that little kitchen too. I miss it even more right now because I don't have a kitchen at the moment. Thank you for subscribing. I will be sharing a tour of the house soon. I don't have much to share at the moment. Everything is in full renovation mode. Thank you for watching and sharing with me.
Oh LeAndra I loved this so much!❣️ It may be the fact that this is obviously a kitchen of things you love in a loved space. I find it very comforting and reassuring that you use all the things in your kitchen. So do I! I also have turquoise and jadeite💕 The wallpaper color and treatment is so sweet I would never guess it's more than decorative😉 Too many good things to go on about. I'm sure your new/old home will receive all the tenderness of everything you do!💖✨
I have watched this kitchen video so many times. I adore the jadite colors, turquoise colors with milk glass and pops of red. I have the same Butterfly brand pumpkin label framed. I bought mine off ebay and had a custom frame made. I intended for it to be Fall decor but its so beautiful that I leave it up all year long. This was the second Butterfly Pumpkin label I bought. I bought one well over 20 years ago from Ebay but lost it in a move. I hope your kitchen remodel in the new house is going well.😀
Hi, I love those labels too. I want to have new frames for them to put in my new kitchen. I forgot I had those to decorate with. Thank you for the reminder. The remodel is slow, but coming along. We had to stop until the prices for materials had gone down. They still are a little high, but not as bad as before. Thank you so much for writing.
Your kitchen is adorable! You have utilized the space very well. Cant wait to see your "new" house. I love those turquoise salt and pepper shakers. And even though I don't have any I also love old Matchstick boxes. I'm holding off on buying anything for my house because after the remodel is done then I want to purchase pieces to decorate with. Right now with it being such a mess I don't even know what kind of decorating space I'm going to have after it's all said and done but I'm super excited. I actually thought the play track was original it fits in perfectly. 💖💜💖
Hi. I almost didn't share it because compared to most kitchen tours on RUclips this kitchen is not the best, but was fun to share. Thanks for watching and commenting.
New to your channel. I love how you decorated your kitchen. It’s the style of decor I like. I have a small kitchen too. However your kitchen is from the era and has character. Love it.🙂
Your kitchen looks cute and cozy. I really like the vintage/ eclectic look. Will be changing the look of my kitchen soon and you gave me an idea for my spices. I could display them on a pretty tiered tray in spice jars. Thanks a lot for your kitchen tour, I really enjoy it. Btw, there’s nothing wrong with Annie Mae on top of your fridge, she looks cute😊
Thank you. I really appreciate your kind comment. I'm glad you got some ideas for your own kitchen, That is what makes creating these videos so much fun for me. Hope you have a wonderful day.
It's hard to explain on a phone but could you be so kind and make another video with your kitchen doing close up shots and panning more slowly, im trying your ideas out because i don't like my kitchen and i would love that ❤❤❤
I'm so sorry Linda, but this house was torn down by new owners a few years ago. Also, I'm sorry for the long delay in responding. I must have missed your comment some how.
Your Aunt Jemima figurine is authentic; I'm 70, my mom is 92, my grandma's kitchen when i was tiny, in the 50's had a figurine just like that. America needs to face our racist past. It WAS a horrible part of our society. In the 60's, we became more aware, more sensitive, and that figurine disappeared. We need The Civil Rights Act. And, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act!!! Thank you, love your kitchen.
Thank you for subscribing Trudy. I really appreciate it. I hope to start making videos again soon. So many things going on right now. I really miss it.
Hi. Thank you for watching and commenting. If you are referring to the skillet on the shelf, I don't think it's a double. It actually has been packed away for awhile now. We have moved and this house has been replaced by the new owners. I'm looking forward to unpacking all the kitchen decor and decorating my new kitchen. Then I'll know for sure if it's a double or not. Hope you are having a lovely day.
@@thriftedvintagehome thank you. I'm an avid jadeite collector. Lol. (other than my dollhouses). What started with one simple chili bowl, now fills a couple of China cabinets. 《Grandkids and jadeite skillets were NOT a good match :(》
Thank you for watching. Yes, I wish I never used the mammy. I would never intentionally offend anyone. Thank you for being so kind with expressing your thoughts.
Please be careful with vintage Pyrex and similar bakeware or dishware. Most of it contains lead in the decorative paint or in the glaze. It can wear off and leach into food. Some pieces also contain other dangerous substances like cadmium. It is best to use for decorative display only. Your kitchen is beautiful.
HI. I follow you on Instagram. I know I shouldn't use them. I decide not to then I do. Thanks for the nudge not to. Thank you for taking the time to write here. I really appreciate it.
@@thriftedvintagehome I used to use mine but then when I learned about the lead I stopped. To be fair I have a genetic metabolic disorder that makes me vulnerable to metal toxicity and lead could directly impact my problems with heme synthesis. I am sensitive to everything even dish soap, rubbing alcohol. It may not impact others the same way. However my feeling is it's just not worth the risk for anyone. I have heard so many horror stories from other people with chronic illness who have really unusual health problems and many have been caused or exacerbated by ordinary things we are exposed to in everyday life. A lot of people are thankfully unaware of how bad it can get and hopefully never find out. Please take care. I am not on Instagram so I am sorry you may have me mixed up with someone else.
@@leschatsmusicale I'm so sorry. I should have looked at your name closer. leadsafemama is on Instagram. I did get mixed up. You are right; it's not worth the risk. Thank you for sharing with me. I hope we get a chance to chat again in the near future.
@@thriftedvintagehome no worries. Yes I found out about this from her blog. It made me sad because I have collected quite a bit of vintage kitchenware and dishes. I was using a favorite glass and plate passed down from my grandparents, which both have decorative paint that most likely contains lead. I have one of those old sets of mixing bowls with paint you can almost feel coming off in your hand and I never used those for cooking but probably shouldn't have handled them either. These things are so beautiful and nostalgic but very risky. A lot of newer kitchenware is very risky too. I really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful pieces though and the way you decorate with them. Such a lovely kitchen.
Absolutely love … YOUR THE first Video Channel that has what I’m looking for. Everyone is doing the “Farmhouse” Look that is the typical for about 5 years!! Sorry don’t like it!!! Love yours
Thank you, Michelle. What a kind and thoughtful comment. I can't wait to share my new vintage kitchen. We are starting to work on it now.We just found a vintage stove that we are working into the floor plan. Again, thank you so much for commenting.
Hi Wendy. Thank you for your question. Uranium glass is only harmful if you ground it into a powder and ate it. Who would do that, right? I think some people would feel uncomfortable using it. Maybe I'll share a video on research I have done concerning uranium glass. Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks again!
Darling and it's okay for you to have that figure. It is historical and the woman who was Aunt Jemima was very well respected and well paid as she represented the company. Ev eryone makes everything racist and that is making all things worse in this country. If they truly are color blind, then this would not have bothered them, but they pick and choose what to be colorblind about.

In the 60's, we became more aware, more sensitive, and that figurine disappeared.
We need The Civil Rights Act. And, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act!!!
Thank you, love your kitchen.
Thank you, Holly.
LOVE your Tiny Kitchen!!! 💚💚💚💚. I don't have a microwave either and don't miss it!! New Subscriber 😊
Thank you for subscribing Trudy. I really appreciate it. I hope to start making videos again soon. So many things going on right now. I really miss it.
And the cow is so funny,😂
I agree. I'm glad you liked.
Love the jadeite skillet. Is it double spout???
@@swearenginlawanda A chili bowl... I better stay away from them then. I don't have space for another hobby. HAHAHA.
@@thriftedvintagehome my sons-in-love had to build my dollhouses their own house. Lol. Jadeite and dollhouses.... just like Lay's potato chips.....
That is an Old Tavern Bourbon Whiskey bottle from the 1960’s. I have one like it in pink/salmon color.
Oh, I didn't know this. Thank you for the information. I love when people comment and let me know about items.
So cute, neat and tidy! That mammy though, yikes
Thank you for watching. Yes, I wish I never used the mammy. I would never intentionally offend anyone. Thank you for being so kind with expressing your thoughts.
Back when the house was built, kitchens were fitted with furniture, not built ins, so it's possible that your kitchen was always the kitchen.
The kitchen was added in the 40's or 50's, I believe.
LOVE IT!!! :-)
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
New subscriber. Your kitchen looks beautiful. Tyfs
Hi, and welcome. Thank you so much!
I love everything except the mammy. Those are quite offensive!
Ikr I don’t trust white people who have mammy decorations
Clutter Clutter Clutter it certainly is full to the brim. Looks like a shop.
Not anymore. This house is torn down and now I'm cluttering a new kitchen. LOL Thank you for watching and commenting.
Go watch a different video. I love it and I'm glad she posted it! Get a life!
Hey there! GM 🌞
Lo e it but the cola ders on top of pictures??
The kitchen is cute. You should lose the mammy when you move.
Hi Beth. Thank you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
You should get rid of that mammy thing on your shelf. I hope that didn't make it into your new home with all the rest of your lovely finds !
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Nice. But there is an "Aunt Jemima" style maid figurine on top of the refrigerator. Items like that are racist.
Yes. If I would have known it was a problem, I would have not included it.
Are you saying “uranium” china? Wouldn’t that be highly radioactive i.e. cancer-causing?
Hi Nita. Thank you for your encouraging comment. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Love it
