Another terrific video, Stanley! I am an Entomologist. To us, Arachnophobia is an amazing comedy! My buddy Steve did the bug wrangling in the movie. They even gave him a non-speaking part as the guy using a microscope in the lab. After the movie's release, Steve gave a talk at the Natural History Museum of L.A. County. He told us about collecting the spiders in New Zealand. He wrangled the live spiders with blowdryers. They made more spiders by sculpting a mold and producing rubber ones. Then he threw dozens of them at all of us! In a room full of fellow Entomologists, that was the best!
Haha, yeah that movie terrified me lol, but I guess to the entomologist who know about spiders it was probably pretty silly. 😆
Oooh, bonus location!!!!
Love when your videos pop up in my subscriptions. Had an extra good time watching this one. Arachnophobia legit gave me arachnophobia as a kid, and I’m still panicky around spiders to this day. Even the itty bitty ones. I’m such a wuss!
Anyway, thanks for doing the filming locations of this kind of forgotten classic. Such a beautiful and picturesque town. I always appreciate how much time you put in, the added details you find and share, as well as your sense of humor. Thanks again!
Hi, thanks!! Yes same here, traumatized by this movie as a kid - that’s why I hadn’t seen it in 30 years! It’s intense especially for kids!
The old fire station in cambria's where I started my very first job working as a mechanic for Marvin henslin when it was later bought an occupied by the famous racer Dome Spencer 1:12 1:12
Oh cool, thanks for the info and memories 👍🏻
So glad you're back, buddy! I loved this as a kid and it made me look closer before restroom and showering lol. I wish they didn't take the spider out of the moon on the poster. It IS a movie about fear of spiders but, c'mon lol! I was hoping you'd find out when that school was built. Hopefully someone clears up this mystery soon! 😀
Thanks! Yes I think of the spiders in the sink and the shower scene often lol! Traumatized! Still doing research on the house and barn - but I’m sure I was super close; that hill side lines up almost perfectly . I didn’t realize there was an earlier version of the poster?
Thanks for watching!
@@StanleyFoss Thank you for all you do, Stanley! The earlier poster just had a small spider 🕷 in the moon kinda like the bat signal. I can't wait for your next video, bud! 😀
@@crush41gb interesting, I looked up the original poster and the re-released version and your right - the spider is gone?? That’s so weird!?
@@StanleyFoss I know lop. It's ridiculous considering the movie but, maybe some people were so afraid they could even stand seeing a spider on the poster but, still!🤪
Awesome video - that was one of the most thorough and detailed movie location videos I've ever seen - keep up the good work.
Thank you! Glad you found this video. Cambria is a great little town to spend some time in 👍🏻
Always enjoy watching your videos! Like the music too!
Thank you! I tried to find creepier sounding music for this one 👍🏻
you are BACK !!! missed your video ! Awesome ! hoping you get 1 million subs.
Thanks! That would be amazing! More videos on the way 👍🏻
Scary stuff! Took a nap today with your Full House video, woke up to your Saved by the Bell part 2 video, and now this one popped up out of nowhere! Love the filming location videos man. Great work as always 👏
Haha! Whoa thanks for all the views !! 👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely beautiful job with this creation. One of thee absolute best filming locations shows out there! Thanks good man!!
I smashed the sub button!
Thank you! And thanks for the sub! This was a fun one to make; I like going to the small towns - their always the most fun 😁
Just found your channel. This is a hidden gem! Just subbed
Thanks for the encouraging words and the sub!
I'll love your video.
Thank you!!!
I’ve never seen the movie, except in bits and pieces. Too scary when I was a kid. But this video was good timing. Tonight I was on the toilet in the bathroom when a spider descended from the ceiling. Sorry for the TMI, but the coincidence was too good not to share.
Lol! Perfect timing to watch a spider video 🤣
My video spoils the movie a bit, but Arachnophobia is still worth a watch 👍🏻
I couldn't watch this film BECAUSE I have arachnophobia. It was difficult enough watching your clips.
It has so many jump scares!
but apon watching this movie decades later it taught me where to place fake spiders😮😂
They should definitely do a sequel and say that the new batch had a few escape with a new queen and a eventually a new Kingdom underground in California
They could totally make a sequel, it would be perfect for that. I hope they do!
This is some good stuff Stanley, but I must ask. When is that gumball collab happening? the wait is getting intense
We have different days off, so that makes it hard… and the locations are about 3+ hours away … but it will happen maybe early September?
I can see it, I literally cannot wait to see it, been on edge for a while haha 👀
YOU SHOULD COLLECT SINGING FISH!
I know someone who collects those … I never see any anywhere?
👍
I knew the family that owned the rambler car im sure by now the parents are deceased.
Back for more Stanley. If I may suggest a possible feature for You. I see that you enjoy making this kind of content, which is good. Back in 1985 a really good movie came out that has a lot of actors and scenes from around Los Angeles. The movie is "To Live and Die in L.A.". Watch the film, then decide if it something You would consider making a video in Your style.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve heard of that movie but I have never seen it. I’ll check it out 👍🏻
I am from Cambria. If you have questions, let me know.
I love that town, thanks!
Haven't seen it in a long time, but doesn't it open in SF with an earthquake or something?
Yeah, It ends in SF. Last scene is Jeff Daniel’s and his wife enjoying a glass of wine, back in the city, out of the country life - then an earthquake happens! 😆
Yall notice that mason symbol on the sign
Ahh yeah that’s interesting. A lot of old town signs have Masonic type symbols. Not sure why? I need to look into that.
Do you have a discord server?
No I don’t have a discord. I’ve used one once … but I’m not very technologically efficient . 🫣
@@StanleyFoss I think it would be really cool to interact with your community, I believe!
@@tatsuwarayasumaki1853 thanks, I’ll look into it 👍🏻
i was in kindergarden
Someone isn't hitting the Like Button... c'mon people !
Thanks you 🙏🏻!!
