Why did I notice a difference in the voice but didn’t say nothing..😳😳😳😳
After Steve Perry left they had a singer named Steve Augeri who sounded even more like Steve Perry. "After All These Years" was written by Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain. He wrote "Faithfully" and co-wrote many of Journey's hits so the song still has that Journey sound.
It’s ok. We forgive you. ;) It’s still a great song despite not being sung by Mr. Perry. I’ve been waiting for you to do more Journey reactions because your feelings mirror my own. LOVE Steve, love Journey. May I suggest a few for you…After the Fall, Stone in Love, Happy to Give, Still She Cries. Steve Perry is truly the GOAT. His voice is everything. Enjoy your channel!
Also Why Can’t this Night Go on Forever - another great one by Stevie!
It's not Steve! Arnel is a great singer, too. I admire his work. But they don't sound that much alike except they are both tenors.
And, yes, Steve Perry is still alive and well and making music.
His voice just hits you and you cant help but feel good
Arnel is one hell of a vocalist. Love Arnel!! He has done a great job filling the big shoes Steve Perry left. He adores Steve as much as the rest of us.
He didn’t fill Steve Perry’s shoes because Perry co-wrote majority of the songs on the Journey setlist to this day. Band also hires a backup lead singer sing a couple songs to help him out during the shows.
My dude I know the feeling! His voice hits your soul. No one hits you where he does. But this is Arnel another great singer
While it's still cool to see someone impacted by this song and Arnel's great voice and Journey tune... it's amusing to see someone duped by it, not realizing it isn't Steve.
In my opinion, one of the most overlooked songs by Journey is "Why can't this night go on forever". We all love these ballads by Steve, but this is one where Neal Schon really pulls it together with his amazing guitar work.
Seriously underrated song. It’s one of my favorites by Journey.
Last Journey album with Steve Perry was Trial by Fire. This is Arnel. Arnel adores Steve Perry and Steve so graciously praised Arnel at the RRHOF awards when Journey was honored. Both are class acts imo. Still love Stevie more. Perry On!!
Steve is the GOAT. As Neal said at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, one in a million. I give Arnel serious props for his excellent work over the past decade or so. It's not an easy gig.
Steve is definitely the GOAT always and forever in my book,,I must say though Arnel has some great vocals to but my Journey man will always be Steve Perry ✌️❤️💯
This is not Steve Perry this is Arnel Pineda. Arnel has been their lead singer for a nummber of years now. The last album with Steve was Trial By Fire.
Sorry but I do believe this is Steve Perry. Arnel can't sing like this.
@@rebeccamassey7545 no this it’s Arnel
Steve Perry never sang this song “After All These Years”, it was released in 2011 lol. Arnel can’t sing like this? He literally just did AHAH
Steve was the last of Journeys good music
There have been a few journey frontmen other than SP. You will know SP because he puts his heart and soul into every song and your ears will know and the guitar is Neal Schon who is one of the founders of journey and is underrated . There was a magic when SP & NS worked together.
Exactly!!! You didn’t just hear Steve Perry. You felt his music in your soul. Every word and every note. Journey’s music with Steve Perry got you feeling it deep down in your feelings and emotions.
It's not Steve Perry.. big difference n enunciation and voice quality
The big difference that tops me off every time is the tone of Steve’s Vice. He is never off pitch and sings with his soul!
Arnel Pineda has an amazing voice.
SO much great Journey music! Lifelong fan and when I saw them live a few years ago, I knew of course that they had a "new" singer, but even hearing live it is hard to tell at times that it was not Steve Perry "The Voice" singing!! "Stone In Love", "Who's Crying Now", "Separate Ways"; all GOLD!!!!!!!
If you grew up hearing Steve Perry day in and day out on the radio and albums playing EVERYWHERE in the 70s and 80s, you'd hear the differences both subtle and HUGE-- clear as ultimately possible-- ears of audiences were so much more finely tuned to music back then-- today's listeners don't seem to appreciate listening to today's offerings as closely-- can't say I blame them with today's offerings!!!! In fact, I'm inclined to say you'd pick up on EVERY DIFFERENCE, especially if your ear is finely tuned and accustomed to hearing Perry on those tracks! I can't tell you how many album plays of Escape I heard as a kid-- FULL album-- that was one of my stepfather's favorites. It is also one of mine; it's one album I heard MANY times long before I became a music buyer myself in the 80s.
I appreciate Arnel and his story with Journey, however, he's not there to emulate Steve-- his voice is not the same as Steve's. He's just trying to recapture some sense of Journey's older sound for fans as well as their new. I think Arnel's done it better than any other singer they've had thus far-- the only exception I'd say would be Dean Castronovo on 'Mother, Father!'
Update: ... just to add a few more thoughts: Video was not yet as proliferated as it is now to the point that we could just login to a streaming service (even burgeoning Cable TV back then wasn't as convenient) to actually "see" our favorite performers. Either you tuned into an occasional special or music variety show and hoped to catch a short glimpse of your favorite performers. The only other way was to go to a concert and hope you could get something better than nose-bleed seats. So performances back then were more auditory than visual. Audiences today focus on a range of visuals that take them beyond the auditory experience alone-- in a sense the pros of this is you can see how good the stage showmanship of your favorite performer is, or isn't, and the cons were that you didn't focus on the audiophile experience as much. This leads to biases people develop as to how they prefer to have a musical experience. Live is extraordinary, with or without its distractions (again your bias), and albums almost carve indelible audio sensations in your brain, leaving you with an imprint of a song that you almost come to prefer over all else. To each his/her cup of tea. Bottom line-- enjoy your music artists-- especially the good and talented ones and support them by buying their music or going to a performance. Enjoy it either way because it is forming part of your life story's soundtrack, depending upon your love of music. Some people treat music like a casual thing and nothing more-- to others, it's lifeblood! Either way, it's subjective art-- don't let it break your bank or leave you wanting due to poor choices-- embrace the good by supporting it, weed out the bad by opting out of it-- let your ears decide for you! What you thrive on will define you.
@@algallego I did grow up listening to Journey; the only time I ever heard Arnel was once, live at a concert, so, I did not have the benefit of "quiet listening". From a concert audience perspective, he was pretty darn close
I was born in 1970 and literally grew up with them. Your reactions to this amazing band warms my heart. His voice makes you feel every word and that is what makes him the GOAT. Neil Shon on guitar and Jon Cain on piano just fills in the rest. Thank you for loving them as much as I do.
No Steve Perry Not Journey as far as I am concerned, this is not Steve Perry! How about Steve Perry Foolish Heart, Missing You, Journey live in concert I'll be Alright Without you, all with the Voice Steve Perry
The comments here show that a lot of Perry strugglers don't even know his voice. This is so laughable! This is Arnel, who can sing Tyler, Mercury, Adams, Zeppelin, Guns&Roses, Survivor, Air Supply, from A to Z. This is the hallmark of a great singer. Whereas Perry only sings his signature songs. Arnel only had a month's practice for his debut concert in Chile. The response kept Journey alive to this day. You can't put down a gifted natural tenor to bring back the ghost of Perry. He left 20 years ago, at least he has his vintage records and spurting career as a solo artist to fill your void forever.
Like I have said many times arnel voice is perfect with songs written for his voice nobody can sing songs written for Steve Perry voice
OMG that voice!!
That song was so beautiful and your reaction was priceless I'm a big fan of yours I watch all of your reaction videos especially the journey ones . I love journey too they're awesome so talented at each instrument and Steve Perry's voice an unbelievable singer
... only... this is not Steve Perry.
This song was released in 2008 and the frontman is Arnel Pineda
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/After_All_These_Years_(Journey_song)
Soulful voice of Arnel ❤️
Somehow all (old time) rockers make wonderful ballads ❤
Give Stone In Love a listen!!! 1 of my faves!!
I love ❤️♥️💖this song i can feel it thru my heart i love it so much💕💕💞
This is arnel pineda bro :)
You should check out “Why Can’t This Night Go On Forever” also by Journey. It’s a beautiful, beautiful song.
Check out Still they ride by Journey, the voice omg!!!!!
Doesn’t matter who sings this song came out in 2008 with AP but it’s about the words about living a life with one true love. Journey is and always will be a love ballet band and I am good with that… Steve is amazing but Arenal is keeping it going so we can still enjoy the music.. just like Adam Lambert and Queen… anyway check out when I think of you most low key journey song thx for the post oh and my comment is more for the people not the host lol
You did say his voice "hit different". I didn't know this wasn't Steve either, I just thought maybe it was a later album and his voice was older or something lol. I ended up really liking this song, even though Steve is my favorite.
I am more of a Perry fan than a Journey fan. I didn't make that mistake but I have a pretty well developed ear.
Steve is still singing though.
I am so happy that you are well again. You had looked so tired a few videos back. Prayers for you.
Oh hell u can tell that it's not Steve Perry AP sounds good here
One of my favorite songs is Lights.
He is not steve perry, he is the new frontman of journey since 2008 and he is Arnel Pineda a filipino singer.
Missing You. Steve Perry. Great song!
You really need to check out Steve Perry (Strung Out ) and (You Better Wait)it's not Journey it's just tilted Steve Perry
Awesome reaction video! Love it and new sub here. Please, please do a reaction video on this same awesome song of Journey and Arnel performing it live in 2008 in Las Vegas. Arnel even sounds better live. I would love to hear you react to that one. Keep up the great work brother!
Journey/Steve Perry ARE one of, if not THE BEST. No one can deny the beauty of this man’s voice. The songs this group wrote, Neil’s guitar and on and on. CHILLS . Journey was my first concert back in the 70s and at 66 I still love and listen to them. Thank you my son for making me feel validated. This is not Steve Perry but shows Journey song writing talents.
If you ever get the time check out a movie Vision Quest. Journey sings Only The Young. Check out the soundtrack to that movie.
This is not Steve Perry!
Twon you the best bro much love bruh 💯
Appreciate you boss‼️…any request?
@No Limit Twon yes sir journey
Majestic and to late they go together with majestic being a guitar solo. Steve will get you again bruh lol 😆 😂 🤣
You and I have the same love for journey with Steve. Best concert I ever saw yo
For me, Arnel's voice fits Neal's playing better. And with Deen supporting backing vocals, makes this song even more.
I LOVE your Journey reactions..
Stone in LOVE and
Wheel in the Sky...both live in Houston '81
You hear a difference because that isn’t Steve singing, it’s their new lead singer Arnel. The day Steve left was the day their music died. Sorry, I’m a die hard Perry fan.
I'm with you on that Terri Thomas well there old music still lives on of course only the old albums with Steve because Arnel sings their old music to which he's great but he ain't no Steve Perry ✌️❤️💯
Two Journey songs you need to hear. Sweet and simple (Steve wrote this when he was lonely at a tour stop in Lake Tahoe) trust me it's short but worth it. Also for fun how about I'll be alright without you, that's the line up that I love and Randy Jackson is coming back so, for me, only Steve is missing. What I wouldn't give to see that line up once again.
Absolutely love this song. Steve Perry is so awesome!! 💞 They are the best group ever.....Period!
It's not Steve.
Not Steve
Have you reacted to Sweet and Simple this song I just heard for the first time it’s really different really nice
For a great vocal by Arnel Pineda with Journey, check out “What I Needed.” For a great vocal by Perry, check out anything he’s ever done, but especially check out “I’m Cryin’,” “For the Love of Strange Medicine,” “Donna, Please,” “Mother, Father,” “Lay it Down,” and “After the Fall.”
If you were a true Journey fan (I know you are) you would of noticed in the first line or two. I haven’t heard this before but knew very fast it wasn’t him. Only one Steve Perry
You should do Journey's Still they Ride and Stay Awhile
Suggest that you watch Never Walk Away, live in Manila. You'll be surprised.
Iba Ang boses ni Arnel Pineda kisa Kay Mr Perry
This is not Steve Perry this is Arnel Pineda!!!
First word I knew it wasn't Steve perry lol
Huhhh...no. This ISN’T THE VOICE. I Knew it one note in. Steve Perry is Journey Period. This is Arnel. He’s alright. But he’s no Steve Perry. Journey with Steve Perry as lead is all I listen to. 40 year fan here. I’d know Steve’s voice anywhere. This ain’t it.
#NoLimitNation
I posted in the Foolish Heart reaction. Check put the “after Steve Perry” Journey…but with Steve Augeri on lead.
Journey - Higher
It's not Mr perry Mr penida already Mr perry voice Soo smooth already
I am never ready for Steve to be over!! I feel the same way..it’s heartbreaking in a way.
Always love your reactions…have you done “Foolish Heart” yet? My favourite. Peace
That was not Steve Perry. That was Arnel who replaced Steve when he left Journey. He is good but not at the level of Steve. Have to be careful with the later songs.
Stop spreading lies Arnel Pineda never had autotune
Change some words in after all these years & wouldn't it be a great eye opener for all races to come together and forgive
❤my idol Arnel Pineda d best vocalist
No body can sing like Mr perry anymore Mr perry voice Soo smooth sweet sounds Mr penida Hurd sounds already pahinga Ng mabuti
You know this isn't Steve Perry, right?
That's the new Journey, no Steve here 😡
Was this the song he wrote after his wife died?
For a different kind of sounding Journey you could try Tantra or She's A Mystery.
This is not Steve Perry. I’ve never heard of this album or song but one line in I new it wasn’t Steve. Listen Closer No Limit and you can here the tone is so different. It’s missing the fullness and it’s perfection!
Arnel doesn’t really sound like Steve Perry, he lacks Perry’s phrasing, vocal modulation/range. In the studio, Journey autotunes all his studio recordings. Steve Perry doesn’t use pitch correction for his vocals to this day.
That's bullshit 😂
Not true! Autotune would turn all of Arnel's ascending slurs into arpeggios. Arnel has been adding these to Separate Ways all his life.
I posted 2 great ones you haven't done a week ago
Still they ride live 1983
Why cant this night go on forever
This isn't Steve Perry. This is Arnel Pineda. Steve Perry and Journey parted ways in 1998. Then Journey had a couple of different lead singers until Arnel Pineda joined in 2007. This song is from 2008. Arnel is still the lead singer of Journey.
Not Steve no no!!!
Not Steve!😬
He may be good but he’s not Steve Perry.
Just like wine.
Exactly, you can't beat Steve Perry & never will.
Aerosmith "Livin'on the edge"
😳I love u bunches BUT 🤦♀️ how could u not know-no one could match Steve!!🤯
Not Steve Perry
That's not Steve
All the Journey albums after Steve Perry’s departure from the band are autotuned. Band tries to make the replacement singers sound like the great Steve Perry in the studio.
Try when you love a women please
ruclips.net/video/sWQyRYGbipQ/видео.html
I can tell this is not Steve
This is NOT Steve Perry. It is Arnel Pinada. He sounds ALOT like Perry, but you’d really have to know both of their voices to tell the difference. Arnel is a fantastic singer! But my heart will always be with Perry! ❤️
He is not steve, and not trying to be steve either, he just do his job as frontman cause they hire him..before arnel theres already a frontman replace to steve but you didnt hate them..and now arnel being the frontman so many negative reactions..you just reveal yourself as full of discrimination person..
React to: Nazareth: Love Hurts
Brother I Ask You To please listen to
Journey With Steve Perry..
Something To Hide, Winds of March, Daydream, Lay It Down..
That's Not Steve Perry that's Arnal
He's Good But He's No Steve Perry
Come on people nobody can or will ever have a voice like Steve Perry 🌹🎶🎵🎤🎶🎶🎶
If you liked this you should listen to the rest of the album. It’s the weakest track of the album in my opinion. It’s a great album. Pick one at random and see if I’m wrong lol
No Steve no Journey for me.😡
NOT STEVE PERRY!!!
Your look at the end said it all. What can you say, Steve Perry and Journey is the best!!
You didn't have that feeling with "the replacement singer", so you only stood up once.
Put yourself in the time the album came out. Special someone, new Journey album, easy feeling of youth.
I saw it, and still do. Journey is one of the bands that nobody forgets once they hear them.
Have a great evening, man. Enjoy the ride.
Please watch Steve sing You Better Wait and see if you really ready !!
This is not Steve but the best replacement they found after firing Steve. Steve Perry was Arnel's Idol. He was the singer of a Journey tribute in the Philippines. Arnel has done a great job but I still love Steve first and foremost. This is such a beautiful song. I would love to hear Steve"The Voice" Perry sing this. I believe he would really knock it out of the park with his soulful voice.
It wasn't a Journey tribute band but a cover band ( all sorts of rock ) that made a few original songs.
@@randallwong7196 You are absolutely correct! Thank you for clarifying that for me. Have a great day!
Did not know this wasnt steve perry until i read the comments. When he started singing i just assumed it was him. Great voice but still prefer perry.
The voice is too different. I don't think that is Steve Perry. You should check it, but I think this is Steve's replacement lead singer. He's good and sounds a lot like Steve Perry. I saw him once on Oprah.
It's Journey's current lead signer Arnel Pineda.
He doesn’t really sound like Steve Perry at all, more like Bryan Adams. Schon picked him because he was a “chameleon” who imitated many 80s rock stars.
This is Arnel Pineda singing. Very good but no Steve Perry...Steve Perry will always be the Greatest...
