What is most amazing to me is this song doesn't have a high-note belting but still showcases Taeyeon's excellent vocal technique. It is not an easy song to sing in spite of its relative simplicity, but she makes it sound easy and effortless you feel like you could sing it as well as she does :D.
definitely! people think vocal technique is all about who can hit the highest note, however it’s not. taeyeon has a supported range of 3 octaves! insane! she’s insanely versatile how she can sound like this but completely different in other songs.

I don't even get it why antis would display such behaviour. Taeyeon was already there rocking in 2007 making kpop known to the world. I get the feeling that the MV is a bit inspired by the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind starring Jim Carrey. That scene where Taeyeon collected her ex's stuff and gave it to the institution that's gonna help her forget about him. Then the spotlight given to her and some character of the MV somewhat reminds me of the scene in the movie where the guy dreams of the past that he'd later on forget. I got nostalgic after watching What Do I Call You, I love it a lot 😌

Just like in the mv, in the movie Jim Carrey wants to erase his ex girlfriend from his memory because he can't handle living without her, and so he goes to an agency that tells him to get all of her stuff, in order to erase his memories of her. But as he reminices the memories that are being wiped he realizes he doesn't want to loose them. It's a great movie you guys should check it out :) Love that Taeyon put this in.

Yeees, I was gonna comment this, I recently watched it and got reminded of the mv so I understood she put references of the movie. Even the snow falling at the end as she lays down just as the couple did and also how she tries to get the guy to stay in her memories when she runs through the hall with the doors representing the times of her life so she can find a place where he can stay, but finally he´s completely erased

Okay for those who focus only on the music... can we PLEASE talk about how the music video is filmed? Definitely a homage to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Just in case you don’t know the movie: it’s about trying to remove all the memories of one’s ex-lover. Basically what Taeyeon’s doing is exactly the same with what Kate Winslet does in the movie at Lacuna Inc. (where operations of memory removal are done.) The disordered shaking camera shots also remind me of the style of Michel Gondry. Shout out to director who successfully condensed 2 hrs of movie into 3 mins of video!
