- Hello everyone! The other day i was home sick and bored, so I decided to try on some of my old pointe shoes! I hope you enjoy this video and I would love for you to say "hi" in the comments! This is basically my first RUclips video, so any tips or suggestions you may have, please feel free to share! Have a great day!

They have no support I know but your arches are just beautiful I them. I’ve been on pointe for two years and I have to many dead pairs but my arches don’t look as good as yours

I've been on pointe for around e I believe, I do it recreationally tho so my first pair died, but I didn't realize until last week.

I secretly wish to try as many brands as possible in order to collect them (although, my feet & budget have very specific needs so it doesn't make any practical sense whatsoever)

@@jackietindall8101 it can depend. I only feel mild discomfort in 2007s. Bloch Hannah and Aspiration were the death of me.

I just got Capezio Kylees and personally they have a pretty soft shank but a medium sized box and they let you sink in them so I quite enjoy them but I definitely want to try Gaynors

Actually the grishkos are probably my least favorite haha! Currently I am wearing Gaynor Mindens, but different from the ones seen in the video!
When I had my two pairs of Capezio Airess, they both died within one class 😰 not a shoe I recommend.
Ok so I need help fellow dancers! What size in Grishko 2007 or the Nova's should I order if I wear a size 8 street shoe. Feet are 9 inches long, 24cm and 240mm. Egyptian shape, long toes, compressible and narrow. Im thinking a size 5 but not sure as I am very new to pointe and can't make it into get an official fitting

Hi!! For Grishkos I normally stand on the box to soften it, and then I put the shoe on my foot and push over the arch to break in the shank!
i think the grishko miracles looked very good on your feet. what do you wear now?

My shoes are relatively new... But the box/platform keeps wearing down and thinning out.. so the fabric rips.. It is really annoying!
As long as your shoes are still supportive, you can still dance in them if the satin rips off the toe, as long as you feel that it is safe of course! A lot of dancers take the satin off the tip of the shoe to help with traction!

Clear nail varnish is a lifesaver! It stops tearing etc, I’ve been a professional ballet dancer for 5 years and used it on alll my shoes
Sophie Smith Brilliant idea! I'll have to try that! Just need to get some clear nail polish! I started ballet when I was 14 and I'm almost 16 now.. So there is not much chance of me being able to do it professionally.. as much as I would like to!
How did you like the So Danca Claudias?
I liked them, but I no longer wear them. They were very squeaky which bothered me.

I currently wear Gaynor Minden pointe shoes! Different from ones in this video though!
How long will a pair of Gaynors last you before they go dead? They are supposed to outlast other brand pointe shoes, yes?
they are made out of polymer plastic which do last longer then traditional pointe shoes, but they do die! the glue, the satin (the cohesives) do wear down which reduces the support.they last aproximently 3-6 times longer (assuming one have the right fit, which is verry important for gaynors) but it all depends on how much you are dancing. mine last about 4 months (not including extra rehersals and performances) :)

At my studio, we dance in dead pointe shoes as long as we can so by the time we can get new ones, the new shoes are amazing and a lot easier and prettier to dance in. But this was beautiful, my arch is not nearly as beautiful as this.
