When you said earlier about when the leaves are back on the trees, it made me think. I know you are a very busy man and do not seem to have any spare time but some day it would be nice if you could re-visit some of your earlier jobs to see the finished article as it is now. Keep the videos coming we really enjoy watching what you are doing.
That is some amazing work in all that mud. The Pond is going to looking great, and you are right, in a year or two you won't be able tell you were there.
I always watch your videos but it’s not your work ethic that draws me in, even though your work ethic is mighty impressive, but it’s your professional approach and the fact that you can’t allow yourself to do a “that’ll do” job. You seem to approach every job like you’re doing for yourself or your wife. Nothing less than as close to perfect as you possibly can get it. There’s a lot of people, especially those that are maybe just starting out, that are totally inspired by you. You’re a perfect role model and an example to all. Take care Chris.

This has been an awesome project to watch. Thanks for sharing. If you can it would be awesome to see the finished project after the home is built and workshop.
Another job where that tilt bucket turns a sows ear into a silk purse. You can send that rain my way when you have finished playing with it. Enjoyed the video too. Safe travels
Chris, Howdy from Stokes County! Your videos have inspired me to clean-up my neglected pond, if this rain will ever stop. Please keep the videos coming, I'm learning a lot.
I enjoy this video very much. You have done an outstanding on this pond. It looks good so far and will be a wonderful home site. Two thumbs up for a job well done.
Chris I've been watching you for a few years now, I'm am a retired plant operator that worked in opencut mining, road building and general construction. over those years i have seen many skilled operators but id have to say son you are up there with the best! love your videos and start the day with you and the many jobs you do. Long may you continue bring us enjoyment. Wishing you all the best from us here in Austrailia. Cheers.
Nothing like buying a piece of equipment that makes money. Doing the job better than you dream of. They must be a good company to order from. With you starting to slip into the pond, you just about had to hit the auto pontoon switch 😆
I"ve enjoyed the mesmerizing metamorphosis as the pone has evolved. I do hope, after the final burn, that you return occasionally so we can further enjoy the pone with grass around the periphery Not sure I would tell anyone the hours I've watched the bucket swing but it sure beats tv!
It’s amazing to watch you “ the expert” at using the machines, watch some of “my” farm families use these machines. They keep learning to get better. LOL
I've noticed that the tilt of the grading bucket almost perfectly matches the tilt of Chris' head. Does his hat have sensors in it to relay to the bucket the angle he wants?! 🤔 🤣
I think he is amazing!!!!! His finish work always is so clean. Some folks have been doing this for more years than Chris and their finish work cannot compare.
Enjoying watching the videos. He is jam good on the machines. I have ran a few in my life ... He kicks it to another level. Watching him sometimes getting aggravated hehe. But manages to do a fantastic job.
Chris I think you were a cake decorator in your past life...the way you smooth everything out... Attention to detail makes a successful job... Good work 👍
In 2011 I took my 360 above 10 ton excavator course and passed with flying colours, Grading and trench digging was a breeze, the only problem was I tried everywhere to get an excavator job and no one would take me on, I tried for 3 years until my ticket expired and not a sausage, i didn't have any experience, I waisted £1500 on that course, Shame really I loved that course and learning on the 360.... On reflection, pond digging would have been my perfect job being an angler nearly all my life...
Chris you have inspired me to try and build a pond on my 10 acres, I've already done some clearing, but the weather here has sucked lately. Fine job as always.
Always a nice way to end the day, watching Chris do his thing. One suggestion, could he have a better mic placement so we could hear him better in the cab. Thanks for sharing your world Chris.
The grading bucket with the thumb works pretty slick. Another season of rain like that and you’re gonna have a darned rain forest there 🌳 🌧 ! Watch out for pythons 🐍 !
Elberta, Alabama checking in. Chris you should get some drone footage of some of your pond jobs that you did more than a year ago and see how they look now. Be a good video. If the customer took care of them that is. 👍
Do “ponds” have any practical application in your area? We only created ‘dugouts’ in the North for watering cattle and occasionally as a household supply. Very few were used for fish since their droppings contaminate the dugout. Our dugouts were typically about 2,000,000 imperial gallons in size with depths of in excess of Q10 feet to ensure that they would not freeze in the winter months.
Nice job. Yes, you wouldn't want to see a heavy extraction out of a pond. Sometimes the ground can just plaster size as it did. I saw a horror story on the net of an operator in Indonesia where his new machine just sank and couldn't be saved. I'm getting a big digging itch watching you, LOL.

I agree with your technique about smearing the surface, that seals it and makes it slight impervious to the moisture giving it a better chance to run off instead of soaking into a porous surface.
I envision a comb you could have one of these outfits fabricate for you. Shaped like one of your matt's but made of steel with teeth that you could grab and comb up all of the loose debris more efficiently. Creating a nice prefinished product before you grade it smooth.

Watching you manage the dance on that wet ground shows just how easy it can be for less experienced operators to get stuck.
