  • We've met again, and all the bygone
    Has brightened up my aging soul;
    I have recalled the golden time, and
    My heart is ever so consoled...
    Like by the end of autumn, sometimes,
    There happen days, there is an hour
    When, with a sudden breath of springtime,
    A feeling gets the spirit roused, --
    So, fanned all over by the whiff of
    Spiritual fullness of those years,
    Do I look at the dear features,
    Aroused by long forgotten bliss...
    And after age-long separation,
    I look at you, like in a dream,
    And ever present intonations
    Are getting more and more distinct...
    This is not only reminiscence,
    It's lifeblood, telling like of old, --
    The former charm in your appearance,
    The former passion in my soul!..
