HOW TO PUT 04/05 HONDA CIVIC TAILLIGHTS ON A 01/02/03 CIVIC (Coupes) TAILLIGHT CONVERSION

- What’s up, i’m gonna show you guys how to make the tail lights from a 2004 or 2005 Honda Civic Coupe work on your 2001 2002 or 2003 Honda Civic Coupe. The tail lights are the same shape on all these models but the 04 and 05 only use three lightbulbs and there is a little bit of a modification that you need to do. After watching this video you’ll be able to hook these lights up yourself. It’s an easy conversion.

I might be in the minority here, but I think the pre-facelift em2 taillights look better than the facelift models. Something about that crescent brake light. I drive an '05 em2 EX SE but have been lightweight considering converting my tail lights to the pre-facelift version.
I just like how the 04/05 taillights are a much brighter red. The old ones I removed were very dark, dull and the white part for the reverse light looked yellow in comparison to the new ones. I did keep them though just in case I ever want to switch back. 👍
@@JohnnysWhips They are bright as shit lol. I think they use a crystal reflective pattern or something. I've been driving down dark streets before, hit the brakes and watch half the street behind me pop up red lol. Mine has a spoiler and the LEDs in that are bright as hell too.

You're not alone, I'm definitely switching mine. Since I want to do a lot of experimental custom work, I'm probably gonna try to make red lenses for the lights that are just as rich as the facelift ones I have now. I could probably also just cut out a red piece of tint to turn the facelift O cutout into the old C shape with the same new lens. Not sure how or if they'll fit but I'll make it work just for the lights to spell out CIVIↃ

To anyone who wants to do this, you can also do what I did. I cut the connecter off and spliced the connecter for the new taillights onto my wiring. It’s easier, but it will make it so you can’t use your normal taillights. I’m just lazy so I don’t mind, but just something worth noting

Does it have to be coup to coup or do the sedan tail light fit coup ?
It has to be coupe to coupe. The taillights for the sedan are shaped different, they won’t fit.

I just converted my 03 EM2 to the 04-05 tailights but my reverse and turn signals dont work. The bulb u needed to splice mine didnt have any wires attached to the bulb.. the blue and green one plugged in just fine... help!

Texas Longhorn, no. They are shaped differently. They won’t fit.
Did you use the running lights ? Because mine aren’t turning on
Yeah, I did. Follow the video step by step make sure all the wires are connected and the light bulbs are pushed all the way in. Double check everything. Let us know if you so we can figure this out lol.

Can I use aftermarket 04 taillights on my 02 Using this method?
I have an 05 & I bought 180 brake light assembly to match my smoked headlights with 15K lumens. I'm bringing the drugs with low beams.

@@JohnnysWhips I'll post a before video of my civic with smoked lights installed. I need to replace grill after hood broke latch bolts on housing and hood smashed into. Windshield. I'm missing grille so need new one & to fix hood. I'll post before tomorrow & after when it's fixed next week.

How much this taillights
I went to the junkyard and I was looking for a Honda Civic coupe year 2004 or 2005. I was able to find one and then I removed the lights. I paid $45 for both lights at the junkyard. Is there anyway to put the sedan tail lights in the coupe? Please I need to know
The Sedan headlights for these models are split into 2 different lights on each side because of the way they fit into said model. I don’t think it would be possible.
