Gypsy Rose was released after serving 10 years. In MY opinion, the abuse these boys went through was no less.

She served 8 years of a 10 year sentence.
She wasn't abused either she had a medical condition and required ALL of the treatments she had do some actual research! She was in her 20s when that happend she chose to stay, now she out here scamming people just like her mum taught her

The fact that they have kept their brotherly bond even after 1) what they did, and 2) that they're in jail because one of them couldn't keep his mouth shut; and taking into consideration that they have had an OK life in jail, shows that the abuse by their parents was real and SO horrific, that they don't blame each other for what they did (although they have accepted their responsibility) and that life in jail has been more comfortable than their previous life. I believe them.

They were railroaded. I believe them. I hope this turns out good for them.
Please free them. They had done their time. Abused victims are not mentally healthy enough to just leave. I've seen it with my own brother who was abused by our father since he was born. His mind is not the one of a grown man he's 37 and he refuses to get help, he's not mentally or physically healthy after all those years of abuse. Even relentless emotional/ verbal child abuse starting from the moment you were born causes incredible damage to the brain. The Menendez brothers at least seem well-adjusted, healthy and rehabilitated after all these years because they got the rehabiliation and help they needed. The sooner the abuse stops, the better.

Good God, let them out. I believe they were brutally honest on the stand. The Behavior Panel reviewed their testimony as well and it’s very difficult to fake those emotions, especially the crying. I’m not condoning murder. How absolutely tragic.
These brothers were very believable when testifying, and if what they say is true, they suffered horrific abuse. The justice system failed them. Why didn't this letter come out sooner (the recipient did testify), and why didn't this band member come forward sooner knowing 2 people are serving life sentences?
Sorry, but there is no excuse for committing such a horrendous crime. They were not children, they were adults. No one has the right to take someone's life. I know many people who went through terrible times when they were children and they did not kill their parents.

@nellym.6555 They were children when abused. You also have to consider the power, control, and wealth of the father. I'm not saying they deserved no time or trying to justify what was done.

They were abused their entire childhoods and then unfortunately murdering their parents thinking its the only way out (Not ok but until you are in that predicament you dont know the thought process. Yes there are plenty who have not gone that route but they definitely prolly think about it daily but dont). These 2 brotheres now are serving life without parole and have served 35 years of that. I think thats enough punishment. They should be able to see what life has to offer free from abuse. They have both been upstanding inmates, even helping other inmate steer the right track, helping other inmates prepapre for their releases and also creating other programs within the prison system such anger management programs. They deserve to be free now.

Our society is more empathetic than it was back then. We know for a fact boys have always been mol***** just like girls. I'm 39 now and have been following this case since I was a kid. My heart always hurt for them and what they endured as children. They didn't deserve that. 😔 I'm so happy that it's up for another review and I'm praying thar God gives them their freedom like they always deserved. 🙏🙏🙏

It was absolutely criminal by that judge that key evidence regarding the fact that the father was a disgusting heinous molester of his own children! This whole case made me irate! They literally should've been acquitted. The mother was fully aware and allowed it to go on which is why she caught slugs and went to hell with her hubby.
I agree completely. It disgusts me that people believed Lyle and Erik were lying about the abuse and just wanted money. Former Judge Weisberg should be in jail!

I just read George Gascon’s bio and accomplishments as DA. He should be commended for his progressive thinking and incorporation of science and research into the criminal justice system while promoting rehabilitation. What an impressive individual!

Free Lyle and Erik. They serve enough time for their crime. I’ve been following their case for the start. I watched the first trail, and with this new evidence they should be allowed out of jail.

I've had my doubts over the years. But when I hear the sister of kitty saying she remembers how freaked out erik would get about having lemons and ketchup it made since to me. Yes it was horridous what they did. But the parents failed them. A.mother who was suppose to protect them was more worried about her status. And now we want to say they went on a spending spree right after. Well they were taught image was everything. Parents failed them period. They have done thier time as they should have. Its time to free them .

@kimward5746 if u go back tocee original trail. Erik use to put lemon on stuff and ketchup to cover up the taste of his dad's semon. The aunt backed it up about how he would go crazy about putting the lemon on stuff because he was trying to kill the taste. It was very awful and sad.

Some of these people on this video are talking as if this letter is the only thing that proves they weren’t lying, talking as if they aren’t aware of all of the family members who knew about the abuse & testified about it decades ago!!! No, the boys were not lying.
I don't believe they were lying either but here's the thing the Law don't allow you to off your abuser. And it was only the Dad doing it so why the Mother (and the horrific way she died) they say she ignored it but there is no evidence she knew at all. They said she was always drunk and popping pills so how would she know if she was always out of it? Can't have it both ways. Lyle admitted on recorded call they weren't in fear for their life that night and they also knew they were written out of the will (it's on yt you can listen yourself) Why not wait till the next time the Dad came in Eric's room (Lyle was away at college) and then do it that would be Self Defense. They were 21 and 19 yrs old. Also the fact the Mom was filling out Eric's college application at the time they did this is telling imo. Have they served enough time? Idk glad it's not my decision to make

Agreed with everything, but it's also important to remember that they killed their Mother as well and there were no allegations of abuse by her.
Everyone is talking about abuse like it's been proven. There was absolutely no evidence of abuse, aside from their statements. They're liars! They have served 35 years, so I'm not mad at them being released, but this accusation of abuse is unfair to the victim.

I have never seen/sensed/heard anything bad about these two men. But I feel badly that I did not pick up on the truth of their story so many years ago. Praying for their release. They did kill their parents. They've served their time. Let them go.

This is a story of 2 young boys - not men - who suffered from SA and complex trauma and weren’t thinking about money, just escape and fear of their parents. Oddly enough, this is one of those rare cases where murder is understandable. I think at the time, they acted as 2 young boys, not really cognizant of consequences. Actually the reckless spending afterwards is proof of that IMO

This is ridiculous. To have sympathy for two men that planned and executed a murder of their parents for money. My parents abused me in 1975. I went to the state and ask for emancipation. They granted it even though I was only 15 years old. I went on to graduate high school, went in the Army and got three years of college. Leave them where they are. I didn't kill my parents and I had as much or more reason!
Did your parents have a net worth of 18 million? You have to be stupid to think the police would actually do anything to save those kids. Also their parents had money but they didn’t have any money for themselves to move out and be independent

Listen to their full testimony and understand what was going on in that „home“ through their complete childhood. They have been in a complete PTSD - people who never lived through this suppression by a tyrannical brutal father cannot understand, but professional psychologists who should work for the court should understand

CA has to make room for the Homeless now in the prisons (according to Newsome the Homeless will be put in jail for not being able to afford 4k a month rent) Newsome himself signed the order letting Manson woman Leslie Van Houten out (she had a Death Sentence) so the brothers will be free.
