To add some context here: in Russia there is a meme/conspiracy theory (actually both) that real Putin died long ago and we're looking at his multiple doubles that look slightly different. These doubles even have nicknames. So this whole situation has even funnier connotations here.
Also his answer was pretty awkward and unnatural which reminded me of Zuckerberg's reaction to lizard jokes.

Honestly, This is pretty dangerous device to think about. Imagine in a future many people would believe it was real leader in a certain country to spread misinformation which lead to future conflicts or sanctions.

There are a couple of Russian pranksters right now who managed to contact several strategic figures in the West (including Angela Merkel and Macron, I believe) using AI to disguise them as their partners. They managed to pull some really interesting strategic information this way. Their names are Vovan and Lexus (Вован и Лексус). Look it up
I think people will develop very soon methods, procedures and habits against that, like trusting only the official channels and such, social media will probably add rules regarding deep fakes etc. I don't think there's any danger to that. What I see as more problematic is that "video evidence" will further and further lose it's value in courts and investigations, lawyers will have more counter arguments against such "evidences", and criminals will get away with more.
North Korean people are the most doomed in this regard. Kim Jong Un's AI will never die and those poor people will think his AI is the real Kim.
They actually tried it on Zelensky in the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine...they made a deep fake of him issuing a surrender

I don't think AI can ever be replaced by a real human being, although it can be a great tool as helping hands in modern technologies to perform many functions or tasks that human beings don't have to waste time's on..
