- The Duchess of Sussex has thanked Nigerian women for welcoming her to “my country”, saying that she hopes she can “do justice” to being a “role model”.
The Duchess has previously spoken of discovering she is “43 per cent Nigerian” in a genealogy test. Speaking at a women in leadership event, she said people had told her many times during her Nigeria trip that they “weren’t surprised” to learn her heritage.
Defining Nigerian women as “brave, resilient, courageous, powerful, beautiful”, the Duchess said: “It is the most flattering thing to be in that company, to be in your company.”

Actually, while it’s nice to see “representation”, it is not a prerequisite for achievement. In fact, if nobody achieved anything unless they saw somebody that looked like them in a position that they wanted to be in, we wouldn’t have had any progress. For instance, we had Barack Obama as president, and yet there was no one before him that looked like him, and yet he was still able to become president. One has to believe in the unknown, and what hasn’t happened before, not representation. In other words, great art makes rules, but rules do not make great art. This woman is such a fraud!
