Wonderful review! Although I did have trouble hearing anything after £200+😅. OG original Xbox had the best anti-yank cable. Can you remap the back buttons to use accessibility features? As a visually impaired gamer, I use the screen magnifier a lot but its a pain in the backside to use. If you could do it with one button press, that would be amazing.
PlayStation Blog Ultra-customizable controls: You can make the DualSense Edge wireless controller uniquely yours by remapping or deactivating specific button inputs and fine-tuning your aim by adjusting stick sensitivity and dead zones (the distance your analog stick moves before it’s recognized in a game). In addition, each trigger is adjustable with options to tailor travel distance and dead zones to your preference. For example, you can manually reduce travel distance of the triggers for faster inputs in competitive FPS games or reduce the dead zone for precise throttle control in racing games. In simple terms everything is customizable to your needs
I think that the victrix procon BFG will have a better value for what you need out of a pro controller. But when they are going to switch to holo sticks like the newer steam decks.
would’ve got the razer or pro bfg- better for their extra buttons, modularity and mechanical switches on the razer, but the stick drift on them put me off, on this i can swap the stick out- but it was close between all of them
I think they did thoughs types of thumb sticks for 2 reasons 1 they can be cheaper to buy a replacement when you get drift and 2 they can get drift so you would haft to buy the replacement part so they can get more money
It is worth and of good quality and the product is amazing and can be fitted also and can be useful to carry anywhere and nice designed and adjustable and the model is very much different as compared to other models.
You didn't talk about the ability to totally swap out the sticks entirely, if you encounter drift? That's one of my main reasons for considering these. Instead of buying a new controller it's just a 20 fix
Create a new default profile with triggers & vbrations switched off as well as the light set to dim, it helps battery life a tonne. The actual default profile (that you cant alter) has triggers/vibrations always on. Also the £200 asking price isn't a big deal if you're like me & you've been through 5 controllers since the PS5 release due to stick drift. Stick drift is a known issue because of poor quality joysticks, so the fact you can replace the joysticks entirely is a big money saver long term. And no, before any tiny hand babies try to say "look after your controllers then"... I never throw my controllers, or slam them, or anything ridiculous, i'm not a child. I'm a 6'5 grown man with shovels for hands. I look after the controllers but the reality is the joystick internals are only rated for something like 400K interactions, which isn't a lot at all.
I wish all controllers came with 2 pairs (4) extra buttons for all your fingers.... But ... I also wish a mouse had a pinkie button as well... (yes, I actually use the side and 2 left top buttons too in games)
I don't understand why the price is a point of contention for a lot of people. Pro controllers have been around since late ps2 cycle and cost $150 to upwards of $350. Feels like this is the first time most people ever heard of this. Scuffs pro controllers are $200-$300+ . This shit isn't new people.
People complain about the battery life of the new controller and no I do not have one, but you have to remember if you are going to pack more into a device then essentially you are going to use more battery it's simply cannot be done any other way, so from a tech design perspective, which I am again not a tech design perspective, but I use lots of other tech and the more features you pack into say a digital camera the more it drains, the battery it kind of goes with the territory you cannot have it both ways so please stop complaining about battery life....if they were really smart. What they should've done is designed the controller with a replaceable battery like a digital camera that would've been the smart thing to do....YES... A simple door on the back of the controller and you replace the battery that is previously charged. That would've been the smart thing to do.
Interesting. I don't own a PS5 but I've been playing a ton of Sony games on PC via steam. How well does this or the standard one works on PC? I have 3 wireless Xbox controllers but have been considering to get a standard Duel Sense to change things up.
I'm playing on both PS5 and PC and the Elite Series 2 is a much better controller for all games. The haptic feed back is more of a gimmick than a great feature. Some people may like it but it's not for me. I use the elite series 2 for spiderman. The dualsense is also uncomfortable.
Im probally gonna end up getting it. I really don't care about the battery life and when it does go low I can easily plug it up, my bed is about 5 feet from ps5 so this should be no problem. The price is high though I can't argue that, to me I think it should be from 120 to150 dollers. That's a (DECENT price.
The price isn't bad at all. Its actually priced quite competitive within the market of pro controllers. Chances are, if you're complaining about the price, you gotta ask yourself, "Do you need one?
@@MrShitfire That's not really standing out though. That's just Sony cashing in on accessories. At least some of the 3rd party companies have managed to establish themselves as making quality products so the only difference on that benchmark is this one says "Sony" on it. I mean stand out in function. Basically no one is using hall effect sensors and the cost is pretty negligible so they could have easily done that, stood out among the crowd at no real cost and then the product comes with a longevity guarantee like no other. Instead they went cheap like everyone else.
@@chaikagaz idk it defeats the purpose of buying a wireless controller. Idk… yea maybe it is a wired controller for competitive gamers I guess … with some utilisation to play wireless on small intervals
I will outline one positive though in the big picture side of things… Sony is focusing on analogue sticks improvements. Yes they aren’t the upgraded version but are replacements, Sony will be the first 1st-party company to address the elephant in the room, it only gets better here on out for controllers as Xbox and nintendo can no longer turn a blind eye to stick drift now with Sony playing their hand- amen to that 🙏
Back buttons should be a standard. It shouldn't be a pro feature. 2 back buttons should always be provided, if the user chooses, they can opt for the 4 or 6 button attachment controllers and THAT should be labelled as a pro controller. I don't have any alternatives to the dualsense edge in my country, and I don't want to pay exorbitant prices for importing the razer one, I will have to buy this one regrettably.
For anyone who’s getting this, I repeat, for anyone getting this: KEEP IT IN THE CASE WHEN YOU’RE NOT USING IT. That will keep your controller from getting dust and debris in and around the sticks.
I hate knowing that i'd have to spend almost $300 for a controller, just because i prefer it's look over the original Duel sense. I couldn't care less about it's additional features. :P And i wish sony would of brought back the classic coloured Pink, green, blue & Red face buttons shapes instead of making them white. It's too clinical and bland looking without any color.

You know you could cut the sticker right?
so no tension adjustments on thumb sticks?
Can you remap the back buttons to use accessibility features? As a visually impaired gamer, I use the screen magnifier a lot but its a pain in the backside to use. If you could do it with one button press, that would be amazing.

Ultra-customizable controls: You can make the DualSense Edge wireless controller uniquely yours by remapping or deactivating specific button inputs and fine-tuning your aim by adjusting stick sensitivity and dead zones (the distance your analog stick moves before it’s recognized in a game).
But when they are going to switch to holo sticks like the newer steam decks.
would’ve got the razer or pro bfg- better for their extra buttons, modularity and mechanical switches on the razer, but the stick drift on them put me off, on this i can swap the stick out- but it was close between all of them
@@JJB0310 doesn’t the bfg have Hall effect sticks?
@@Chronic-strain no it doesn’t unfortunately- Gulikit are making them for the Edge tho
I think they did thoughs types of thumb sticks for 2 reasons 1 they can be cheaper to buy a replacement when you get drift and 2 they can get drift so you would haft to buy the replacement part so they can get more money
This bloke is class love these videos 😂
What are those lights alongside your monitor?
It is worth and of good quality and the product is amazing and can be fitted also and can be useful to carry anywhere and nice designed and adjustable and the model is very much different as compared to other models.
2 back buttons kills this controller for me. Really wanted a 1st party Sony pro controller aswell.
I wonder if they'll make them in other colors like their dualsense controllers. I may buy if they ever make them in black.
You forgot to me mention anything about the replaceable Thumb Sticks, Did you try it on a PS4? My standard PS5 controller works with PS4.
Yeah buy one in Australia its $339.00
Your cat has the ps5 colors😄
You didn't talk about the ability to totally swap out the sticks entirely, if you encounter drift? That's one of my main reasons for considering these. Instead of buying a new controller it's just a 20 fix
What material are the Dongs and Nips??
Did indeed have to change my pants after purchase
Is it fully supported on the PC like the original controller?
I don't understand why the price is a point of contention for a lot of people. Pro controllers have been around since late ps2 cycle and cost $150 to upwards of $350. Feels like this is the first time most people ever heard of this. Scuffs pro controllers are $200-$300+ . This shit isn't new people.
One thing to mention is that the joysticks are exchangeable, so third party Hall effect joysticks could be possible
I was thinking this not to long ago. We can only hope
Knowing Sony they will probably block any aftermarket hall effect joy sticks if the have that design pattened
Are these as uncomfortable as the standard ps5 controller? My hands start to ache after a couple of hours 😣
Everyoen just got spoiled that you can play as Atreus in Ragnarok hahaha
does the material feel the same? i mean xbox elite has grips and this doesnt
That would've been the smart thing to do.
which TV you used?
Do you recommend any thing for FPS games?
It only gives you 2 mappable paddles?
Where can I get it in the uk ?
I don't understand how the price is so criticized when other pro controler options fot the PS5 cost just as much if not more
Exactly 💯
Little expensive but this will be my forever controller for PS5 and PC cant wait to get it this friday. :)
Interesting. I don't own a PS5 but I've been playing a ton of Sony games on PC via steam. How well does this or the standard one works on PC? I have 3 wireless Xbox controllers but have been considering to get a standard Duel Sense to change things up.
need a reply to this as well....
I'm playing on both PS5 and PC and the Elite Series 2 is a much better controller for all games. The haptic feed back is more of a gimmick than a great feature. Some people may like it but it's not for me. I use the elite series 2 for spiderman. The dualsense is also uncomfortable.
only buy it if you play fps games competitively.
What's your TV seize and model?
I play a large amount of FIFA Does anyone know if you can map a button for L3 and r3 together for player lock?
So, it's for old people right ?
Im probally gonna end up getting it. I really don't care about the battery life and when it does go low I can easily plug it up, my bed is about 5 feet from ps5 so this should be no problem. The price is high though I can't argue that, to me I think it should be from 120 to150 dollers. That's a (DECENT price.
I hate when people say ït's too expensive" when in reality its priced right around other pro controllers price points.
I can’t wait to get one. You are so lucky bro.
Does it work on PC?
Roll on Thursday
It would sell like hot cakes if the price was cut in half
I hope this controller would be good for PC as well
I have asked the question on every edge video on RUclips and not a single person has answered.
I still can't stand the left stick position, never felt comfortable to me.
The price isn't bad at all. Its actually priced quite competitive within the market of pro controllers. Chances are, if you're complaining about the price, you gotta ask yourself, "Do you need one?
Or ask how they could have stood out among the crowd.
@Madness Reborn they already do just buy it being manufactured by Sony and not a 3rd party.
3rd party controllers haven't got haptic feedback ✌️
Can u connect them to pc?
Hos does it compare to the Xbox Elite ones?
Can the dongs be reversed? I’ve seen pictures with them in two different orientations.
I miss the days when controllers costed £/$35. 😩
Just stick with the dualsense controller- only $75
White............no stiffness adjustment.... Only 2 backbuttons....... 😢
Would this work on CoD Mobile?
I just want mouse click triggers
Also, u forgot to mention that the joysticks are easily removable ... still, it is a great review 👍
No he didn't 😅
I did love this. It has everything I want, However if I can’t play a full gaming session without my controller dying of battery, then idk 😩
Just keep it plugged in?
@@chaikagaz idk it defeats the purpose of buying a wireless controller. Idk… yea maybe it is a wired controller for competitive gamers I guess … with some utilisation to play wireless on small intervals
Yea kinda sucks but there's the idea of a battery pack😑
@@alx1863 a battery pack? Well that depends on variable factors- does it disturb the ergonomic design of the controller…
Well that was quick
For anyone who’s getting this, I repeat, for anyone getting this: KEEP IT IN THE CASE WHEN YOU’RE NOT USING IT. That will keep your controller from getting dust and debris in and around the sticks.
Can you repeat that again
@@suckit758 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT IT IN THE MOTHER FUCKING CASE!
I didn't hear you. Say again
I got mine today i took it out of the case with dirty hands now it has black finger smudges all over it
I hate knowing that i'd have to spend almost $300 for a controller, just because i prefer it's look over the original Duel sense. I couldn't care less about it's additional features. :P And i wish sony would of brought back the classic coloured Pink, green, blue & Red face buttons shapes instead of making them white. It's too clinical and bland looking without any color.
Please mate consider going into comedy...Your sarcasm is cracking and hilarious. Love your videos!
Thank you so much.... other reviewers avoided the battery life on their review and that's annoying especially if you're going to spend 200.00 🙄.
They avoid it because its not an honest review
what's the battery life without the vibration/trigger effects?
4.1 hrs?
4 hrs? Thats really bad.. as the normal controller gets like 6.
